Dear Staff Members - Making RPG Characters/Powers

What Powers Do You Think You'd Have If YOU Were in RPG Maker?

 

This is in Theory and Ideas because I'm thinking of putting you fine ladies and gentlemen into my game as After-Final-Boss Superbosses, Non-Playable Characters, and sometimes as an Easter Egg, which is basically the whole thing to begin with. THIS IS NON-COMMERCIAL.

 

Here's some guidelines:

 

0) My game is based in a Steampunk World. Take this into consideration as well.

 

1) What do you envision yourself looking like, for I use a Side-Battle system. Maybe, if you could, just make yourself a portrait, bust, and a sprite and send it at some point. Otherwise, if you can't give me some info, and I may make a portrait/bust, but I can't sprite.

 

2) What power(s) can you envision yourself with based off of who you are? Example:

 

Wraith the Elusive

Wraith Laugh: Kills all players but one, chosen at random. (Not an actual power I'm considering, it's OP)

 

Remember, I need to be able to actually make the power for it to work.

 

3) What kind of place can you imagine yourself being located in? Just think of a general setting, whether you wish to be a Superboss, or as a person just chilling out somewhere.

 

4) What do you imagine yourself being? I see this as being different from 1 and 3, like do you see yourself as a Blacksmith, an ancient Soldier, an Assassin, or Paladin?

 

Please refrain from making a character if you are not: Wraith the Elusive, MurgianSwordsman, A Staff Member, A Moderator  or An Administrator.

 

Some input would be nice however, staff or not, on what you think.

Pfft, why not.

 

1) I'd be some kind of badass steam Dragon that blew hot air under my wings to help me fly.

 

2) Steambreath: Breathes an attack of extremely hot steam that inflicts damage to all enemies and burns them.

 

3) I'd be at the top of a dormant volcano on top of a giant pedestal for all to see.

Me as a superboss is ridiculous really but I'll make up my own anyway.

 

1) A mass of darkness with a red glow, don't need a sprite for that - I'll try to create it myself Murgian.

 

2) Absolute Terror: Fills the screen with a red glow which confuses random enemies, stuns random enemies, lowers the defenses of random enemies and drains the HP of enemies over time for 5 turns. (May be OP if you set the drain too high)

 

3) Waiting at the end of the world , being serious though I'd probably be in some kind of DEEP dark pit.

 

4) Class: Glowing Red Darkness - Simple.

I can draw a steam dragon, except the spriting would be a pain.

2) Status Update Overload: At random, two people get poisoned, burned, stunned, paralyzed, ATK Downed x2, etc. Every negative state gets lumped on except for K.O.

 

3) Just milling around, jumping around the world. Chance of me being on a particular map is 1% each time the player enters. I become fightable once Final Boss is defeated, until then, I just sell stuff.

Cool. Make sure the Steam Dragon is Blue and Gold! Because that's an awesome color combo!

I'll add some brass in as well, if he's a steam dragon. Unless you mean a living dragon.

 

As for what I'm selling, I could make an entire forum of what I'm selling. From RPG Launchers to Death Stars to Anti-Wraith bottle caps. Not to mention artifacts, and simply emblems to say that you've raked up enough money to buy it.

I don't mind playing along, and I'm pretty easy as I already have most of my character's in game graphics on the site anyway, just copy paste.

 

It's also an easily fitting part of the Lore I have written for Tharis, after he is done in Liphidain, he's actually sent to several other worlds to help them in any way he can. (a few examples are, Norrath, Atreia, Arborea, Ivalice among others) So you can put him in as whatever you like. Probably easier to keep the theme of your Steampunk world if he's just an easter egg but you do what you want.

 

1) If you choose to use Tharis as more than an easter egg, I am still working  on his Holder battler, I can finish it up and get it to you (credit still being to holder) if you like.

 

2) Powers would go right along with being a Paladin, though he has been other warrior types in the past. So long as you see it fitting with your game anything magically defensive, or even just a protector in general is how I envision him when there is no magic that can be used in a world.

 

3) Somewhere in the mountains, usually high up.

 

4) Hmmm... I wonder...

Steampunk? Let's do this:

 

1) I'd be the apprentice of that one person who designes all steampowered automatons and such. The one with the great ideas but not the skill to create them and let them work for longer than one hour. They tend to explode.

2) the power would be something like 'summoning' a small automaton to fight in my place for three turns or so. After that I'd take up my hammer and other tools to pummel the opponent. Or a special skill outside of battle, to find scrap metal easily for creating those automatons.

3) You'd find me in the secret workshop down under in the big city, or hidden somewhere in the mountains. The people shouldn't know those automatons are created somewhere.

4) I'm a blacksmith, engineer and artist in one. What'd you expect?

I'm going to allow this topic on the grounds you create a more fitting title. Like Dear Staff memebers, post your RPG maker Powers. Perhaps even allow people to chime in on what they think absent staff would have just so your topic is more inclusive. After all let's face it, anyone can post in this topic and neither of you can stop them, and we as staff wouldn't stop them anyways because this is a public forum and all discussions are public.

 

Also its far more fitting in gen discussion or off topic, but I'm not gonna be too picky since this is a wildcard topic. I will likely move it to one of those so be prepared for that.

 

Going on topic.

 

Appearance wise I'm favorable to the chaotic good persona. An armored figure with gold blues and silvers with a mix of sharp and soft edges. A holy or benevolent color pallet on an otherwise chaotic design. Tough to explain.

 

Powers would be anything based on either water, light, or spirit. Weaponry is dual blades, wrist bucklers or shielded gauntlets.

 

As far as location, temples make the most sense. Typically something based on good but outside the mainframe of law and order. Fitting as a boss or NPC but likely a good character won't be a boss.

 

I typically go the paladin archetype. But since I'm chaotic good, its not feasible. You might have to go outside the box here. Like a Paladin that walks separate from them and even outright defies the law. Paladin of no Order. Lawless White Knight. Lights Shaded Keeper. Bright Shadow.

[EDIT (again): About your character, Titanhex, I have an idea for him. Since my world is basically run by this group called the Inquisition, perhaps I'll introduce him as a Former Inquisition of high rank, now as a hermit/Old man in the mountains style?]

No ones in trouble, and your topic isn't a bad one. It should just be more inclusive. The chances of an admin or global replying are pretty low, so letting other members decide their design for them is a good idea for including others. I'm just stating ways to improve your topic and manage it better, which is still better than abandoning it.

 

If you want to include me that way then that's cool. I'm more of a guiding character over a main character or superboss anyways.

2. My Sweet Kiss ability Confuses, Berserks, and Silences the entire enemy party, and reduces their HP to 1. Also, Physical attacks don't work against me because my bewbs are too big.

 

3. I can imagine myself in a titty bar in a nice little meadow just living out my life, blending in with all of the other bunnies.

Also, I think that a change in your power would be nice. It seems OP, as it basically kills everyone. It's kinda hard to recover from having everyone suddenly having 1 hit point. And if they're confused, than everyone really is f#cked.
