here is the battler i posted about a week(?) or some days ago and here is what i believe to be a better version of it

Ive just discovered the magic of linework in Sai or whatever they called it. so now i was able to make the lineart smaller and made her left (her left) thigh bigger but I do plan on trying to fix more mistakes. The hands were and always are my hardest thing to look right but I would love if you have any tips or hints on how to make this look better anatomically wise

yea, that looks a lot better! the thinner lines really bring the quality of it up.

tho anatomically her legs are a little short, and i just realized, were the wings attach mat need to be moved up, cause if she flew, she would be butt flying lool.

<_< wow, another of this style. first off, there is no depth in the color, its looks like a kid drew it and its in a horrible style. I don't understand how you people think this is a good drawing or that it is a good style, and my six year old can draw better than this.

I think you really need to practice alot, and i mean a hell of alot.

I frankly like this style and if your going to critique then you should be respectable when doing it and not sound rude. If you dont like anime style then that's fine with you but other people do so please respect that

There are harsh critics in this world, and I am one of em, so if you cant having your art criticized, you will never make it far in the world of art and might as well just give up. sorry but thats the truth

that was not 'harsh criticing' basically all you were doing was being rude and stating bluntly how you dont like anime style. besides i would love to see you post some of your own art if you believe you are as good or 'better'

off topic: I agree, post some of your own!

now back on topic:

i dont think he/she understand the many styles of anime, some have extreme color depth, others dont have depth, thats what makes them unique like yours.

If Unspoken thinks a 6 year old can do better, lets see what he has to offer, eh? Also, I'm fairly certain that rules of critisism on this board say only creative critism. No "der your work sucks everyone stop saying its good cause it sucks you really suck". So. That being said, it could use some work, yes. But props for the effort, just keep at it. Skills only get better with use, not worse. Although no sucubi will ever be as attractive as the ones from the disgaea series.... xD

Ninjad. Also what that guy said. I'm new here too, but I at least wait a whole 24 hours before I start bashing people.

Dat smile...is it the succubus you're talking about being angry? She looks more like she's looking for...well...what succubae usually look for... -_- Yes, I know. But I'd think that if she was angry, she'd have the cliché anime bulging vein and some red eyes. But then she'd kinda look rather cute, and I'd be on the floor laughing, and probably dead after the first 5 seconds. That's just me, and her anger could just be a passive-aggressive type.

Either way, I'll just repeat myself here: a bigger chest for her, and I'd suggest sizing down the hands a bit. If you're good at pencil-drawing, try to get a scanner. That would make life a lot easier, so you just draw, pen in, and scan. I don't think they're that expensive.

Either way, keep going! And cheer her up! Buy her some ice cream, then she'll probably not want to kill you anymore! :)

thanks for the advice but this is the second of a three part battle with her. Don't ask why i started with this and the girl is based off of a friend of mine from rl but i might make her eyes glow red on the last part of the battle with her

The eyes seem somewhat out of place, I think they'd look better if you added some outlines or made them darker; otherwise, I think it looks good.

PS: Unspoken is just an obvious troll, and you shouldn't listen to him.

Personally I think that the style of artwork you attempt to add into your project has to suit the visual syle of everything else. If it does'nt suit the background you place it on, it will make it look really bad.

But if you draw in your own background so that it has a similar feel to this type of art, your succubus will look fine. Find balance in all aspects of your work.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

My idea of a succubus could'nt really be posted here for obvious reasons

Can we all take this as a lesson in what not to do? Comments like this don't help anyone- they certainly don't help the artist. Even if you think someone's drawing is total rubbish, why does this give you the right to put them down and do your best to demotivate them? Everyone was a noob once and they didn't improve by having people tell them they're a hopeless case. Wouldn't it be better to do something constructive to make sure the artist gets better, or else just walk away?

Criticism is great, insults are worthless.

Anyway I rather like this! It needs a bit of polishing but you definately took the first step by thinning out the lines- might I suggest doing more with that idea? There's a lot you can do with lines to make something stand out more! Using a variety of line thicknesses can draw the viewer's eye to key points of the character design and specifically it could work well to have the outside lines be the thickest. That'd help it stand out against any battle background and not look out of place. (The realistic RTP battlers are meant to blend in with the realistic background, if you're using a more cartoony style it's best to stand out and not be shy about the contrast.) Also, coloured lines are great for softening or brightening a design. I think if you want to make this character look pretty yet scary you should try soft coloured lines for most of her and then dark bold ones for the scary face. (Like.. for her skin you could use a very light pink that's almost the same shade as the colour fill, then have dark or black lines for the demonic bits like the eyes or wings) I'd kinda reccommend working with the eyes because at the moment it looks like she doesn't have any, until you take a second glance and realise they're meant to be glowing. the glow colour is too similar to the shadow colour, so i'd reccommend an outline around them.

It'd also be great to take this moment to decide where you wanna develop your style- are you intending to make this character look bright and cel-shaded, or animelike, or more realistic? Depending on what you were going for, there might be other stuff you could do. At the moment she looks like a very cool animelike style, but the colouring is a bit brighter than is usual for the genre. You might want to lower the saturation a bit or play around with similar shades to see if anything looks better, as well as increasing the contrast between the fill colour and the shading. (Make the shadows darker or the highlights lighter) But if you wanna go with a "bold and cartoony" appeal then you've already got it! :3

Well the background for this would be in the default Demon World 2 and Demon Castle 3 of Ace and i'd have to say that i do believe it works since in my game the castle she will be in is that black castle in there and the pinkish/purple from the floor looks good to me.

Nice keep it up but you really need to know her proportion and practice drawing hand more and more, hands is on of the hardest part when you want extreme poses.

you can always use box. and try to search about the drawing guides so you will improve a lot. im not a pro at art myself but i made you a quick guide on what im talking. you can always use your characters head for proportions. like in the image i made just now.

sucub.jpg

im not saying this is the right and the most accurate proportion. you can always break the rules its up to you. (^_^)

its just to give you some more ideas. ok? keep it up!

ignore the justin bieber(im talking about that guy) who hates animes hahahaha!! and i love anime a lot (PEACE).
