Toasty's Dazzling Effects(Added Stuff: 9/12/13)

Recommended Posts

Oh that's Photobucket / the forum's image scaling being derptastic. My original sheets were just fine xD

Although on further examination, part of the gravija animation is ... too transparent. I'll be re-doing it.

Also really need to not be lazy and re-do the main post.

Would it be too much trouble to have the ball itself uncut and possibly without the fade? (I'm sure you can alter this within the database) I'm personally one for not just clicking frames into the database and like to have freedom to move frames and do various things rather than follow a sheet.

I've actually been toying with the idea of making free-form sheets. I do like allowing people to do some of their own stuff. Probably my next project.

But first I want to get the last of these old ones out.

Edit: Actually yes that will definitely be my next thing. Put some banners up for it. Will be releasing teasery stuff as i go.

Good lord tripple posting. I'm a loose cannon rebel here. I'll probably also throw together short game demos giving examples of how to use sone of these parts when I finish sheets.

Incredible material you're posting here.

By the way, I think you should keep at least two or three of those gifs showing your animation in action. They are useful to give people an idea of how awesome your stuff is. Two or three gifs won't make the post very heavy, I think.

Second part of explosions. Been done for a while just forgot to post it. Been working on other stuff But i'm being very picky about how it looks and there's allot of quality check and re-doing stuff happening.

When I use that last explosion animation in RMVXA, the rocks become transparent. It looks weird because you can see the background and the enemies. =/

Also, there's a problem with the comet animation.

Anyways, I need to repeat myself: awesome stuff =P

turn blending mode to normal for the rocks. "add" blending mode makes black become transparent.

whats the matter with comet?

These effects are gorgeous!

It's such a pity they can't be used in commercial projects, they've what I've been looking for!

The problem from the comet animation is that frame 23 seems to be out of place. It's bigger than frames 22 and 24.

Well pinch my tits and call my Phyllis! Toasty is not dead! And added an animation sheet to the main page!

Darkness 1 is up under Destruction and hopefully I will feel motivated enough to get back to working on these more regularly.

Edit: I'm horribly lazy and still have no fixed that comet Frame.

If you ever stop making these, I will commit suicide. These are fantastic, and know that they are much appreciated.

Toast! Love the work! You inspired me to play around with Particle Illusion 3 a bit.

Edit

Would you be willing to explain how you saved your exports into one .png with transparent background? I created a nice effect, but my export is all single .png frames. I attempted to combine them with VirtualDub and did get one animated png... but I see that is not how yours is setup. Did you just copy the individual frames at like 192x192 size and paste them in an open .png ... Or is there some way to simplify this?

I would appreciate the assistance!

For anyone looking for a tutorial on using Particle Illusion 3... and for how to export to png and import correctly into RPG Maker VX Ace, I found a nice tutorial at http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/842-animation-how-to-make-animations-with-particle-illusion-3/

I have my own process on how I do it, it's a little convoluted and probably not -the- most efficient way to do things but It produces the results that I want so yeah lol.

Also, Adding more stuff here in a sec <goes off to edit main post>

Okay ladies and Germs:

Also on the main Post but Yeah there you go. Fire and stuff. Sorry it's been so sparse recently. I'll spare you the details of my life's tragedies (rolleyes) but It's been hard to motivate myself to do stuff in general. I'll see if I can get back into the spin of doing this though.

... Regardless of weather i'm doing these or not please Don't commit suicide c_c that would make it very difficult for me to sleep, and it's already difficult for me to sleep.

These are fan-freakin-tastic! You're really good at creating some very interesting and breath-taking effects. I think I love you, but I'll spare you the drama. :P

As an added bonus for the day, I mashed together a few actual animations using a combination of the RTP and my own sheets, just to give you some ideas when you try to use them

Just open the data base and scroll down to the bottom of the animations, They are all there. I was -going- to make a laughable mini-game about breaking into a house and beating up the security guards to show case them but I got lazy and Didn't, so you may notice a few skills characters and a monster.

Feel free to copy-paste these directly if you like them. But most definitely experiment on your own. The whole point of the new set of sheets is to encourage creativity with your battle effects~

Now THAT was awesome. Nice work. I plan to use these and add new sound effects I can find and mix from Freesound.

Your contributions are amazing! Thank you ... as I never would have found Particle Illusion without this post... and between what I am creating and your wonderful Final Fantasy collection.... I don't think I'll ever want for animations again!

I will be sharing my animations as well... So feel free to reap what you have sewn ;)
