Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 I am currently using Yami's Guardian Series scripts and while they do almost everything I want for the class/subclass system What I am after is very specific. There is a normal class that would allow the player character to equip a specific weapon and armor. EG: A thief can equip dual daggers and light armor, light helps, and other light armor, while a Soldier can equip swords, shields, heavy armor. The other class, a subclass if you will is an elemental class. This class would give the player the ability to use magic and have a elemental attributes. A Fire Dragon will allow the player to use fire based spells, and not be damaged by fire attributes but would be weak against say Water. A Water Dragon would allow the player to use water based spells and not be damaged by water attributes but would be weak against say Earth. The magic abilities MIGHT be changed in the future, but the elemental attributes would be the same. I hope I have explained everything clearly. Now, I am wondering if there are any other scripts out there that would do what I am after?
Titanhex 284 Posted June 6, 2013 Isn't all that stuff pretty standard things you can do in the database. Like setting elemental resists for a class, giving them specific skills, and equip certain armor categories. I assume you're using Yanfly too.
Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) I'm only using Yami's system. And I want the classes to be able to be changed easily, with other classes added when the player character learns that class. Edited June 6, 2013 by Shadow Fox
Titanhex 284 Posted June 6, 2013 Yanflychannel.wordpress.com Yanfly has a class and subclass system that should be compatible.
Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 It sort of does what I want but not fully. I am wondering if there are any other scripts out there that do what yanfly's script does, but also allows the element aspects to work, as that is what is the problem.
Titanhex 284 Posted June 6, 2013 Does his class script not carry over elemental affinities?
Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 Not really. I have found a couple of other scripts that should allow elemental affinity as well as elemental resistance. But unfortunately it is just not working. I have removed those scripts and still tried it and nadda. Nothing is working to do with the elemental stats. I have a demo ready to upload to mediafire if needed. I just don't know what to do. It SHOULD work, but it is not.
Titanhex 284 Posted June 6, 2013 Afraid I couldn't help you test. I have limited access. Try isolating Yanflys class script and seeing if it carries elemental affinities over when changing classes. If not report it as a bug on his WordPress. No reason classes shouldn't have their intended resistances when you change class. Though if the actor is a water dragon it may be easier to set those resistances as an actor ability instead. I can't test though as I don't have the systems. You may get better support from another user.
Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 Thing is I am using another script to GIVE the main character elemental attack affinity. (It is suppose to increase the elemental power of the elemental class) And so I am not even sure if it is set up right. It SHOULD be though.
Titanhex 284 Posted June 6, 2013 Well that's important to know and wasn't mentioned at all in your post. I have no way of knowing that because its not part of the base engine in any way shape or form. Are you using note tags to set affinities?

Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 For one of the scripts I was testing yes, but that didn't work, and for the other script, no, because that script didn't require any note tags. Both didn't work with the class system.
Titanhex 284 Posted June 6, 2013 I'm afraid I can't help then. Some scripts just aren't compatible with others.
Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 6, 2013 yeah. And I also just found out that one of the scripts that I need in my game also crashed with the class script. Can't remember which one now.
estriole 326 Posted June 7, 2013 i think if you set the elemental affinities modifier in subclass trait box. my yanfly subclass patch will work. since it add the subclass as feature object. thus all it's feature should carry on... grab it in my signature. unless that is the script that you already tried and failed (you don't mention the scripts name). if yes... maybe try again. since i do rewrite that scripts once. maybe you use the old version. + Shadow Fox 5 Posted June 7, 2013 (edited) Nope it didn't. The scripts that I had tried. (One after the other) was Victor's elemental strengthen. That one requires notes in the note tag. The other script was Elemental Modifiers by Tsukihime. I had also found another script and tried that but still it did nothing. That script was Element EX AdiktuzMiko which is exactly what I need as you could set up attack boosts for a specific element and weakness for another element. And like I said none of them worked.
