seriouscat 347 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) This is a small collection of logos I've made. I'm not very good since I've just got started making these in Photoshop CC so any advice is welcome! If you actually like any of them and want one done, drop me a message and I might can help, unless it's too complicated. Older logos Any constructive concrit is welcome! Also, uploading all these made me realize that I really like the color blue LOL As of 8/19 I have completed my first logo request! Success!!! <3 As of 8/ 22 I completed my second logo request! Success x2! This one was for Miroku for his game Silicon Savior Sasha! As of 8/ 24 I finished my third logo request! This one was for Jonnie for his website! <3 click to enlarge (it looks great on a dark background!) Edited October 9, 2013 by ciruscat
Cecillia 652 Posted August 18, 2013 I really like these. Blue+White = @Q@ for me. It's so modern and fresh and just UGH <3 awesome. I prefer logos like these that are clean and sleek rather than super messy ones that aren't crisp. Keep up the good work.
seriouscat 347 Posted August 18, 2013 Thanks so much for the positive feedback! I am very nervous showing these because I am not confident in my abilities at all but what you said made my day! Thank you! Also, updated the OP with two more logos I made.
Cecillia 652 Posted August 18, 2013 Love the new ones >w< Pretty, simple, and effective. I'll request from you once I know what I want LOL.
seriouscat 347 Posted August 18, 2013 Sounds fabulous, I look forward to hearing from you! I'll work to better my skills so I can make the absolute best logo for you
Riff 62 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) I back up what Cecillia said, very simple but in the good way. Those logos are the closest to what is a logo for me on this forum and others (and I really don't mean to upset other people making logos on this forum, it's just personal point of view). I usually don't praise very easily but I kinda like the spirit behind your work. If I may point a few "flaws" in technique (again I do not intend to sound conceited and those following are just my 2 cents), (number = corresponding logo) 1. Your curves for the S and the R aren't smooth enough, you can see some angular points (? I'm sorry I don't really know how to translate this in english). It's not really showy with the 'R' but with the 'S' your curve is too steep and I feel as if you tried to draw that curve by hand and bumped into the ruler (or maybe I'm the only one that use a ruler when I write a letter on a blank page). Other than that the flower patterns are pretty well inlayed. 2. The logo is unbalanced because of the "wing" on the top-right but no "mass" in the bottom-left to counterbalance that (the other wing being too centered I think). I do not know If you wanted those wings to be some kind of extension for your letters (just like in your first logo) but I will assume they are (given their location and colors) : try blending them with your text a bit more (for exemple your text is very sharp but the edges of the wings are blurry so you can tell them apart) 3. Nothing, my favorite for now. Except maybe for the font that is pretty but the 'p' is just too straight in comparison to the other letters 4. I personnaly do not like when watermark overlay the title as it conflicts with the first role of a logo, providing clearly and efficiently datas (here, the title of the game). Other than that, I'd suggest a capital to give a little height/depth to your text. (very cool font) 5. I like the balance of this one but I do not like the location of the bottom arabesque ; at first I read 'Hen' (that's probably just me though). Besides, if you put it under the 'leg' of the 'r' it will stil follow the descending logic of both the letter and the arabesque. On this one, the blending is a little awkward (far too blurry when all the rest is very sharp) 6. The curves are really well done on this one, very smooth but I think that 'Gola' doesn't stand out enough and stays too much in the background. (the curves going over it doesn't help) Again, I did not want to sound presomptuous or obnoxious, you just asked for feedback and that was my 2 cents on your work (though you can see that it's just minor settings). I did not want to hurt anybody's feeling with my first statement either. EDIT : And I didn't want to sound like I don't make those kind of 'mistakes' again. EDIT² : If anyone care here's my definition of a logo : it's not meant to be a piece of art by itself, it's meant to bring out a piece of data and most of all that piece of data has to be clearly visible and readable (and not drowned in fancy fonts or super flashy colors) Edited August 18, 2013 by Fielleux
seriouscat 347 Posted August 18, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the feedback, definitely gives me a lot to think about when I am creating logos. The ones you had the most comments about are my oldest works so I feel like I've improved, haha! (my newest ones are 1 and 3) I agree with a lot of your points! I am definitely going to go back over number 1 with your tips because I really like it and I want to make it "perfect" haha! Thanks so much for the nice concrit <3 You didn't sound conceited at all, just very knowledgeable Thank you! EDIT: added spirit logo version 2 to the OP I think it looks cleaner and the lines flowing out more organically? Hopefully you all think it's better too Edited August 20, 2013 by ciruscat

Riff 62 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) EDIT: added spirit logo version 2 to the OP I think it looks cleaner and the lines flowing out more organically? Hopefully you all think it's better too Much much better, the overall is cleaner and sharper. Nevertheless, I you allow me x) *still a bit blurry (but that's being a bit ridiculous to point that out) at the blending point *the curves of your 'R' are perfect but the breadth of the line for your 'S' is a bit stange (it's not uniformly getting thinner, and you get a point where it's unexpectedly too big) *you were right to get rid of the 'Bevel&Emboss' effect. (well, I mean I find it better that way) Apart from those, it's better x) (although I personnally liked the darker tone) Edited August 20, 2013 by Fielleux
seriouscat 347 Posted August 20, 2013 (edited) Thank you DracoHiryu!!! Thank you for the concrit again Fielleux! I appreciate you taking time to help me improve I see the part of the S you're referring too and I'll definitely try and fix it EDIT: here's my fix of the spirit logo, version 3! I think the S flows better now ? and the color is closer to the original logo Edited August 20, 2013 by ciruscat
Rizrazzle 96 Posted August 20, 2013 I'm no expert when it comes to graphic creating, but I looove some of these! (: I recently did an attempt to start a logo shop, so I had to check this out, haha. Spirit In the Spirit wordmarks the "it"s seem a little too far away from the r. I do love the usage of long strokes in letters (especially when they tend to 'envelop' more text) and the decorative flowers at their tips. For making everything fit snuggly I usually recommend treating every letter differently and playing with their sizes and angles a little. Just give the 'it' a nudge closer. Eeko What I like about the 'eeko' is the simplicity, readability (while still maintaining the decorative parts) and saturated colors against a dark background. I'm usually all for colors (not a rainbow colorbomb, but the type that attracts people through being 'noticed'), and hate to see a logo with low saturation/contrast, especially against white backgrounds. As long as you mind that people requesting logos/wordmarks don't specify a background and are sometimes requesting odd colors. But I love your color coordination! Spirits of Earth and Sky The Spirits of Earth and Sky logo is my favorite when it comes to color and letter arrangement, though it does take the background in consideration. I sometimes jumble around placing small words like 'of' or 'and', especially when someone requests wordy logos to be all on the same line (Rawr, fitting). ^^; This one, however, is simply beautiful, especially with the nice blue background. It sets things off nicely, brings the logo 'forward'. Something I do worry about is what type of background or setting people wish to use when displaying a logo (e.g. a white glow may not appear on a white background) as wordmarks/logos have no backgrounds. Veriable I like how the veriable logo form is sort of 'centered' around the wordmark and it feels natural without capitalization (just like 'eeko'). The sub-text and decorative brush/shape seem lightly pixelly, but that could be the size/compression. Because the letters are in simple grey I do like how the blue shape appears above the font. It adds a little something and doesn't take away any readability. When I click on it and it pops up it looks like it has a nice inner shadow, but I can't seem to trace it in the image. ^^; I like how the green can soften the letters a little on bright settings, but on less bright settings it looks a little odd because of the variable sizing, it fills the b entirely but is hardly visible on the e. Hen/Her Curse? The next logo, I'm not sure about what the first word is. ><; At first I read curse and thought of hex, then thought it was hen, but it could be her? .. It looks slightly .. rushed? The dark blue shadow doesn't feel as smooth as the lighter shadows around the decorative curves and there's some weird stray pixelly parts. Like where the last 'e' goes into the decorative curve, it looks blurry or like it needs a nudge downward. Gola Saga The last wordmark, wow, I love it! Due to the small outer stroke being colored a darker blue it seems to make the first part of the curve really smooth. Brilliant! (: --- I'm probably not very helpful but I just loved some of these! ^^;
seriouscat 347 Posted August 20, 2013 Thank you so much for the comments Riz! I was looking at your shop and youre great at requests and your logos are very intricate and fantastical and all of them are different which is amazing! I worry about being as creative when my logos are very simple in comparison, ahhh! Great job! I am debating removing the Her Curse logo because it is so confusing to people. I didn't notice that it looked like Hen curse until now that everyone is saying that's what it looks like LOL maybe when I have another cool logo to put up I'll take it off as it does look rushed and sloppy compared to the rest and that's definitly not the idea I want to give people about my logos! I appreciate your comments on my logos so much! Logo makers unite! <
Cecillia 652 Posted August 20, 2013 You DARE NOT remove Her Curse! I like that one A LOT ;AAAAAAAAAA;!! I love your logos the most >.< It's so clean compared to the others.
Neverward 210 Posted August 21, 2013 Wow these are some seriously top notch logos I'm a huge fan, I see little to critique here! My favorite is the spirit of earth and sky one, the third one down. The white swirly behind the words is very fetching, as is the way you composed the text. You show a good grasp of placement and color mixing! Good job
seriouscat 347 Posted August 21, 2013 (edited) Thank you for the kind words Neverward! It really encourages me to keep creating EDIT: Added a new logo 'Constantine' to the OP! Edited August 21, 2013 by ciruscat

user975483 26 Posted August 23, 2013 Just wanted to pop in here and say that if there was anyone I would recommend for a logo, it'd be Ciruscat! She's really quick to respond, does fantastic work, and gets the job done in a heartbeat!
Neverward 210 Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) I might be requesting a logo from you in a bit do you do game over logos? With your light and ethereal text I think that your style would really suite what I'm going for as a game over in my game. I have to get a reference logo though to show you first, so I'm just wondering if you do it! Edited August 24, 2013 by Neverward
seriouscat 347 Posted August 24, 2013 (edited) Sure! I'd be happy to try and make one for you! EDIT: Did another request and added it to my OP ^o^ Edited August 24, 2013 by ciruscat
Riff 62 Posted August 27, 2013 Hey again ! Nothing more to say on 'Spirit' for me, really elegant ! Nothing to say either on 'Constantine' (what a useless post -_-') The 'Stewart Music' one is well done but I'd almost was expecting a G clef for the 'S' 'Silicon Saviors Sasha' is kind of disapointment for me (sorry ^^") because, even though is much much better, it's kind of redundant with 'Spirits of earth and sky' Still very good overall
Kire 45 Posted August 28, 2013 I like the way you add to the tittles , adding those swirls and lines , that make then stand out ... PS : Click to enlarge sounds very wrong XD
Rizrazzle 96 Posted August 28, 2013 I really adore the 'Silicon Savior Sasha' logo! The readability is great. The wordmark reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy. The font, little bar below and the white around the black letters. And the green vignette, well, it has great colors. Your 'feeling' for color is impeccable as always. Keep it up.
