Actually I'm getting rid of the poll.  I managed to make finish all of the animated battlers LOL.  Thank you for your comment.  I really hope you enjoy the game. I will be updating it soon.

I like sideview battle if the battle members are 3 or more. Because it can easy to follow the battle flow by looking at the sequence.

Because frontview battle system with so many battle members tend to hard to follow.

 

Btw, this game seems interesting. Keep up the great work. I might try this game once I got the time

lol I guess we can rule out FBS, Not more than 10 minutes into the game and we got ourselves a sideview! ^_^

I love the Ragnarok battlers(!) but its a little shaky with their animation since most of them are not quite alligned.

Just a couple of things I notice but I'll leave for it later once I further into the project. :)

and who knows? you might have an update and I'll be too late to say it. xD

I know the battlers are a little shaky but it's very hard to align them for me. So I don't really think I can fix that even though I want to fix that and I know that no one will want to fix that for me. Any way thank you for your comment glad you like the battlers :)

lol Are you sure about that? You haven't asked me yet. ;)

Are you using a Kaduki Template or so? Because I have a graphics folder on my desktop that actually have those same battlers. ^_^

 

Edit: Ehhh unless you custom made those? lol

Actually I am using holder style battlers because I have no clue how to use kaduki sprites or what poses are what, If you want to fix the battlers for me I can PM you a folder with them.

I started redrawing the characters to make them look nicer for the next update.  I have the general idea of what I want to do with the game.  However I would like to know if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for this game other than improving the artwork? I cannot script and some events are hard for me to figure out so if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for the game please make sure it is something easy for me to do.

Sorry for the double post again. Just wanted state the progress. I have a interesting story going so far and the next update will have not animated but picture cut scenes I draw like in the very start of the game for those who played it. Also the voice acting is no longer limited to just members of my college game club.  Anyone is free to voice act now. Just PM me or let me know here in the topic if you want to voice act. I'll tell you  which characters are available for voice acting.

Just as a quick comment: I've read through the whole post, and it's kinda weird to me, that you need to keep changing the story?

I'm aware that sometimes, you got small things and holes in the story to cover up,... But why are you changing the story so much everytime :)?

 

Maybe it could help if you'd write out the complete storyline first in a text document, think about it and review it, then implement it.

That way, you'd be happy about the story, you'd know where to work to, and you wouldn't have to change it this much.

 

=> just my opinion. I have not actually tried the game, so I can't say anything good or bad about it. however, it seems you've drawn your characters yourself, which is pretty amazing!

 

My conclusion: I got a bit scared to try this because of the many double posts and 'play my game people', however, I know it is very frustrating if you put your time and soul into it, and people won't play it.

SO i MIGHT give your game a try, and post a review. I can't promise anything, it all depends on my own game progression.

I keep changing the story because I keep coming up with new ideas that don't fit into the previous stories. That's what the problem is.  Also I will be trying to update this game again soon. I really want to do a story

that most people will like that I like as well. If I just do what other people like and not what I like I will not have fun.

That is actually a good idea, your game, should still be your work. I like how you rework your game and really put effort in it. If My game progresses fast enough, i'll try yours

Sorry for all of the double posts. However I been thinking. Should I change the story again like I am planning to do? Also I have a question only for those who saw the story and played it before this one should I change it back to that story but include my new character Cyfer along with Keldanite and do things to it that are better. I am asking because I feeling like I want something better.

Well at the end of the day you have to be happy with your own creation, if you aren't then your always gonna feel bad about it. I can relate, although I don't change the story much I'm always redoing maps, especially since so many awesome tilesets keep getting released and clash with my previous tiles.

 

But the problem with this is if you constantly change things people will eventully get bored and give up. And of course you have the chance of getting fed up with your own project and deciding that's it's more trouble then it's worth.

 

I think the best thing to do is when you get a new idea, find a way to make it fit within your story. Even if you have to tweak both your old and new idea a little. Sometimes the best thing to do is ask people for opinions on your plot. It may sound great in your head but if you hear someone else read it out you may think, "Actually that doesn't sound so great afterall." Also other people may have some great ideas that you'll want to use.

Actually I was going to imply this idea with the old story so that it is not changing or constantly changing. But you are right I need to stop changing it. After the next update I am keeping the story. :)

The only thing that really bothered my about the story before this one was the last review said it was too cliché and yes that does make me a little mad because I do not accept cliché or too cliché as an excuse not to play a game because not everything is pure cliché. There is always something original added to it.

I agree. It's hard not to have cliche's nowadays, pretty much everything has been done in some way or other. Long as the characters are likable I could care less if the story is the most cliched out there.

Thank you. That's what I was I worried about because of that reason. The problem was I had an entire story finished that wrote out on lined paper only to be told that it was too cliché in the last review. Some people just do not understand and that's where I get mad. Because then you write a whole story that is over 130 pages long only to be told it's too cliché. But then again I didn't follow what I wrote exactly and I really should have. So that is why in the next update it'll be the story that I had before this one but with the elements of this one added and my character Cyfer added to the story. :)

Hi, everyone just wanted to let you know I am also still working on this game too.Like Eternal Destiny it expected to finished in either late spring or early summer , or maybe even before. So no I didn't give up on this game. It will have the same story I had before the last one just with better eventing, improvements, and my new characters that I added to it. :) 

Also I am going to be drawing the characters in the the RPG Maker DS Style. Here is Keldanite, who I have finished so far, His face appearance is final so I am not looking for critique, just wanted to show you how far I came with drawing, and shading. You can still comment on the graphic if you want too. Just please do not use it in your games with my permission if you really like it.

Sorry for the double post. I Just want to tell anyone who is active at RPG Maker Web (The official rpg maker forums) that am I still working on this game. I only had it locked on RPG Maker Web, because of mature content with the new version that I am currently working on. I just wanted to tell everyone so that they will not panic, or think I'm not working on it any more.

Sorry for the all the non sense posts. But I been thinking about putting the setting of this game in a mixture of medieval, and steam punk since they have guns in the game, and since I have a very hard time drawing armor. I would like to know what you guys, and girls want to see in the next release that will hopefully be the full game. Any suggestions on what I could probably do with the story, or features that are available in scripts that I do not have to do myself because I cannot script. Don't be afraid to tell me. If I get mad you'll know, but I won't get mad because I am asking for suggestions.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I finished writing the story for this game, so the next update will be soon, and will be the full complete game, but I will not mark it as complete just yet. The reason why is because I am unsure if the new story is good enough, and I would like feed back on it after I post on what changes need to be made before I mark it as complete. 

Also the next update will be using a completely different battle system, It'll be using Mog Hunter's new linear motion battle system a.k.a Tales of games battle system. If you want to see it here a screen f it action in my game:

I haven't added any monsters other than the rtp ones yet, but it won't use the rtp monsters, i also have to update the face graphics, this was just me testing it in my game. I also changed the hud to support five party members later on. I will probably give the characters more hp since it is a linear motion battle system so they can go longer without getting K.O.'d right away. By the way I am surprised that no one found this new battle system on Mog Hunter's site. lol
