dhofari9 2 Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Hello everyone , finally i finish my first 2 parallax mapping I really enjoy mapping things on my way .. it took me 2 days and each day 6 hour to learn and finish them anyway, here the sample pic of what i done so far. I really need your feedback and advices for parallax maps .. and same tutorial of water parallax if any thanks in advance Edited December 9, 2013 by dhofari9

Tsarmina 2,612 Posted December 9, 2013 Please don't double post ^-^ Those water tiles look out of place. I think those are supposed to be used mostly for pools as they have that smooth tile-patterned bottom, so they don't seem to fit your outdoor exterior maps. + EraYachi 180 Posted December 9, 2013 I recommend uploadin' your pictures at a hostin' site, like Imgur or Photobucket (Imgur is the more popular, less advertisement-down-your-throat style). You can upload more pictures without worry. That's some neato work, especially for someone who's just started out. I'm with Tsarm about the water in the 3rd; try adjustin' the hue so it matches the waterfall. It's probably an autotile that you're usin', but you can export and fix those in GIMP or Photoshop, too. Those shadows in the 1st one an image overlay? If so, good job, but they don't seem all that uniform for 1-direction sunlight. The bottom trees are great, but the top half looks like a different time of day.
Joey 9 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) Looks great for your first time. Really love how you parallaxxed the grass and dirt in the first and second map. Some tips: 1. if you want custom animated water use modern algebra animated parallax script which animted three frames perfect for water 2. the shadows need to match the sunrays Suggesstions: 1.Maybe put a reflection of the bridge in the water would really complete it. All and all looks great. I would love to learn: what grass you used in map 1? Like how did you blend the dirt with the grass so well? TheHarmp 155 Posted December 10, 2013 These look very good! I like how cluttered the plants are below the trees in the first picture. It makes it look very lively to me, and makes it a little more obvious where you can walk and where you can't.Very well done, keep it up!(I wanted to say something about the river made of stone, but that subject has been covered )

I really tray to uploads from different website but , I got the same problem the pic so big or not allow this size something like that .. Also I thank you for helping me .. The problem here for the water I not parallex it .. I cut the pic from the river way to blank pic and do the parallex for the rest of the map .. Then I put the mapping pic and create the water from the game it self coz I have no idea how to do water parallex .. And yes those shadow cloud make by me and by using vice overaly script .. For the trees you have a point there .. Thanks mate Edited December 10, 2013 by dhofari9

I like your suggestion about the reflection .. For your Q i do say .. i am using the GIMP 2 as i take grass from the rpg maker vx ace game ( different grass color and style) by screenshot then i add them as battren .. after that you can skill your map and select any simple brush to add dirt on the grass to looks like what i done example of tutorial i learn from : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_S36UFijr8 hope to help you ..~ These look very good! Tsarmina 2,612 Posted December 14, 2013 Uhh...where's that waterfall coming from? From what I can tell it look like water's just flowing down a flat sheet of brick with nothing structurally behind it and...well...it's a little disorienting. I only just noticed. dhofari9 2 Posted December 16, 2013 Ohh .. just i haven't notes it .. You are right about that .. Umm maybe i put some black blank tiles like its coming from cave or something .. i donna know !!
Cecillia 652 Posted December 16, 2013 I am unsure if that water is a waterfall or just a streaming side because if you notice beyond the fence and everything is still flat ground and the water fall is in the same exact place. If you were aiming for a water fall effect, you could use the walls to define the height to define the waterfall instead of making it look like a flat waterfall which is what is currently being conveyed.(Do those exist? Hehe)
Tsarmina 2,612 Posted December 16, 2013 I'd consider (a lot like what Ceci mentioned) layering up walls, maybe even just a small cliff-ish section so the waterfall doesn't look so...manmade.
Elder71 14 Posted December 28, 2013 Very impressive. I have a fond affection for the parallax mapping-method. I'd say that the light beams are a little too strong, though, but that's just my two cents worth.
Mary674 0 Posted January 4, 2014 I love it, but your maps would benefit from having the lighting effects more subdued, in my opinion. Subtelty can go a long way. Keep up the good work.
GreatOmnipotentDictator 0 Posted January 4, 2014 A few small flower patches in the grassy areas would go a long way to breaking them up as well, and I agree on the sun beams being a bit too bright. Very good work for a first time though.
Darkanine 116 Posted January 6, 2014 My only suggestion is to weaken the sun effects just a tad bit.
Skysagi 219 Posted January 8, 2014 It looks good, but here's a tip: That water makes it look like a pool or a shallow water or something. It'd look even better if you used another water tileset, that makes it look deeper. Just my opinion. But anyway, that mapping looks good.
amerk 1,122 Posted January 17, 2014 Overall, these look nice. However, the sunlight beams are too hard and distracting. I think they should be much more subtle so that it still adds to scene without taking away from the quality of the scene.
Philip 2 Posted January 19, 2014 I must say you've done well for your first parallax mapping project. Water is one of the hardest things to parallax map with. What I ended up doing is using an animated parallax script and creating a PNG sequence of water. Then I have terrain above the water and terrain below the water. The link below will show you a pullback of my water town and what my water looks like. http://www.mediafire.com/view/?x70cb5xnk59rpbq
