High quality parallax mapping in my game

Recommended Posts

I like the backgrounds you are using (did you make them yourself?) but the trees and other sprites on them don't match and it looks very out of place to me.

Your indoor shot is also very dark on my monitor making it lose detail.

Other than that, I do like when people take the time to map like this, nice one.

Maybe (just a guess) it would go well with the high fantasy pack.  That's the one that contains real-looking humans, right?

Galv / Thanks. I tried to find the other sprites but I couldn't find that. It was easy to make terrains but I cannot create the things... I used some patterns that someone uploaded, and edited by me.

orathan / Thanks. But there are so much problems...

The trees do look almost cartoonishly bright in such a nice, realistic landscape. Even a simple recolor would fit better :) Otherwise, quite nice~

I think sometimes the rocky parts don't look terribly exaggerated, and it might take a moment for people to realize that it's... well, rock, and not dirt.

And as others have said, the sprites and the RTP graphics don't mesh very well (especially the cow and the fences).

The water looks amazing! Is it going to be animated? xD

Aren't those textures from Ragnarok Online? they seem sooo familiar to me, the water is practically the same too.
Btw how do you make the roads? that's one of the few things that I don't know how to do properly.

I personally like the contrast between the RTP and the very natural backgrounds that you've created.

The elements of RTP really go "pop", and it's very distinctive and appealing.

This is a great style, and it would be lovely to see a full game made this way.
