cerephoros ~ Cerephoros' Music Compositions ~

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I will be showcasing a number of compositions that I have wrote from remakes to originals! Just a brief history about my music, the theme is purely fantasy based. You can also hear elements of classical, folk, electronic, rock/metal, sci-fi, atmosphere, ambient and mystery in my songs also. In terms of influences and style, you can make a distinction, but not replicating, selective Final Fantasy games, Chrono series, (one of my remixes are from Chrono Cross ;)) small hints of Legend of Zelda and various other notable video gaming soundtracks!

NOTE: Please do NOT take any of my original material and credit as your own. I will only waive the rights to my composition/s if:

1. I have abandoned my music project (I will let you know ahead of time if this happens: VERY unlikely at this point in time however)
2. A payment is made to hold the rights to my composition/s

I will be taking in requests from other members on here who would like a composition for their own esteem or perhaps even help contribute to pending projects!  ^_^ (PM me for details)
Do bear in mind that I am in college full-time and won't have all the time to spend on composing requested songs; if any compositions you requested are more than 2 months long, please PM me and I will get back to you A.S.A.P.!  :)

Without further ado, here are my most recent compositions:

https://soundcloud.com/cerephoros/calming-blue-alternate - Calming Blue (Alternate Version)

https://soundcloud.com/cerephoros/traverse-through-electronic - Traverse Through Electronic Sands

Enjoy!  :)

These are very good! Beautifully orchestrated music, They remind me of the Final Fantasy series,
and 'Recollections of Destined Shores' (I know it's not in the list, but I went through your soundcloud a bit.) reminds me of Destiny Island in Kingdom Hearts.
Very well done! Keep it up.

That's what I was thinking, reminds me of FF. Very very good stuff. I love it.

Thanks a lot you two! I appreciate how much you like my music.  :) And whoops! I totally forgot about Recollections of Destined Shores >_< it's one of my favorites considering, yes, it does resemble a lot like - albeit different in some ways - Destiny Islands from KH-KH2.

I am working on another version of one of my songs called 'Apparition of Abysmal Lament' and I'd like your opinion on which version is better.

I love your music! I may end up requesting some if I can't figure out how to make it, so how does one make music? Like using a computer, I understand this will probably be very hard for me as I have no musical knowledge.

Thank you very much!  :) Yes, usually most music composed is software-related, although you can use a MIDI Out keyboard to implement sound fonts in and record each note you are playing via keyboard as they are being displayed on a digital audio workstation ie. Pro Tools, Cubase, Ableton Live, FL Studio, etc.

Btw, love your signature lol! Mr. Saturn from Mother 2 or Earthbound as the actual release title.  ^_^

Thanks! I love my signature too :3

My whole name is a reference to EarthBound/Mother2 as well, love me some good ol' EarthBound,

now to avoid being off-topic (great job I've done already :3) I have started working with GarageBand on my Mac, it seems to be pretty nice and a few songs I've made with it were quite nice.

I personally liked the Alternate version just a little more.

I really like how clean/echoey/heavenly your tracks are! :o The cover of Garden of Gods is epic too (Probably my favorite track from chrono cross) Your other tracks as well just feel extremely polished and not messy, like the notes are all over the place. It just feels right.

Maybe in the future I'll commission from you :)

Thank you Euphoria! :) I felt the same way about the alternate version when I heard it a few times. Despite it being dark and somber-like, this track was more appealing than the original.

Thank you so much Cecillia! :) I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to my tracks and glad you like them! Haha thanks, I feel the same about the cover of Garden of Gods too, it was a song I wanted cover for quite some time. I have a few tracks in mind I might want to consider covering soon, a few being from Chrono Trigger OST. Ah, there were a few instances where I had to scrap some compositions because I thought they sounded too off-the-wall. Although, I did take some verses from older pieces and remolded them into a newer composition which sounds all the better.  ^_^

Absolutely! If you ever want a track/s for your project or just for the sake of, please leave me a PM.

I absolutely love your artwork by the way!  :o They're amazing. <3

I would like to perhaps down the road consider you in doing artwork for my game.  :)

It sounds amazing! The beginning sounds literally like I'm walking through a galaxy full of clouds (that doesn't make sense ^^") and the middle section with the strings almost takes my mind back to to the pentatonic scales of Asian royalty. (Just my thoughts) Cecillia was so right, it sounds like a blend of heaven ^-^ Keep up the good work!

Grievance of Terminal Souls and In Presence of Serenity are my favs. I could see these next to nobuo uematsu or Masashi Hamauzu on the next final fantasy game. These sound so legit and professional

Wow! This is amazing music, I am liking the instrument choices and how each song has a fantasy element to them.  ^_^

I've sent you a PM  ;) , please respond as that'll help me immensely. Thank you  :)

Well done and keep up the amazing work!  ^_^

Oh my...I'm way behind on writing back let alone posting any updates. Thank you very much, @Tsarmina, @TeamACA, and @Perijoy for your comments! ^_^ I had no idea my compositions would sound so heavenly, let alone come anywhere near close to the legendary Nobuo Uematsu or Masashi Hamauzu (which by the way, are by far my favourite composers! ;)).

Sadly, I have nothing to share...BUT, I have been in the midst of working on a few new compositions which are still a work-in-progress and may take some time until I finally upload them for you to listen to. I'll keep you all posted when that does happen though!  ^_^

Okay, so I finally have a couple of tunes to share with you all! One is a character theme and the other is a really upbeat and interesting song from my game. Let me know what you think, thanks!  ^_^

Electric Road is still a work-in-progress. I'll be changing it up slightly before I decide to release the finished product.  ;)

Enjoy!

Truly beautiful sounds. I've been enjoying the rather calm tracks above all.

One question. Have you been composing these solely for yourself, or may some be used for a video game in dev? With your consent, of course.

Either way, keep it up!

Thanks for the comments all! :)

I am somewhat retired from making video game music at the moment, though it's a possibility I may make my return someday. As of now, I have been producing EDM music. I don't really have much to showcase at the moment, but working on and almost finished writing up some beats. I'll keep you posted when I have uploaded a song or two. :)

After a few months of not putting out anything new, I have started to get back into composing music once again. With that said, I have a track I will be showing you that's exclusive to my up-and-coming game. It's titled: Recalling the Memories.

Hope you like it! :)

Cheers!

Wow, that is really beautiful. It kind of reminds me of some of songs from the old Otome games I used to play. ;p

Title + song => perfect fit. Keep it up. I'm no composer, but I can't say anything negative.

Great 'sad' vibes from this music. (probably cause of the mood I'm in aswell)

Thank you very much for the comments @Izu. and @crystalknight (btw, hope you're having a much better day!)

Just finished writing another song...and it's very different from the last song I published. This has a unique blend of both drum and bass and classical which flows real nicely. I call this track: Intensifying the Heat of Battle.

Cheers! ;)
