Uploaded the edited version. Maybe I shouldn't have said world map. It's actually a map of the islands that the game takes place on. Also, yeah the tower does look weird, but that's supposed to be part of a more intricate quest late game.

The updated version looks much better. Having less forests and more plains and hills makes it look a bit more like a real place. It seems fine to me the way it is now.

Thanks! I couldn't help myself, so I made the map bigger, and added some more areas to it. Tell me what you guys think.

BTW the giant hole are supposed to be there, it's what the plague eventually does to ground.

The picture of the large map is rather small, so it's hard to see the details, but it looks good - apart from the large number of rocks in the sea (at least I think those are rocks).

I think it's getting better (seems you've got a good grasp of layout).

I'm no expert in mapping but I would recommend getting some clumped graphics to reduce the blockiness which is inherent with the default RTP.

It's helpful for breaking up the line syndrome with trees I find.

I watched the video. It's a nice map, but one thing bugs me a little: The trees in some parts of the map seem a little too organized. I'm not sure how to explain it, so here's a shot of a test map I made in a hurry:

Notice how two of the four groups of trees are neatly organized? Some parts of your map appear to be the same way (or at least very similar).

Also, some areas of your forest could use a bit more flowers, bushes, and other such things to add variety.

Okay I'll work on that. I'll make another look at the map once enough time has passed for some other opinions to be given.

I really like the overall layout of the map! It looks like some of the land masses could have fit together in the past, which adds a touch of realism. However, there are some grassy areas far above the latitude at which the snowy area begins, which doesn't quite add up. I know that latitude isn't the only factor that can influence climate, but since the areas are so close together, it feels strange that there isn't more snow in the northeast.

Also, consider adding a bridge to this area; it may be annoying to get to otherwise, especially if you have enemy encounters on the world map. If the player isn't intended to go there at all, then I'd recommend turning it into a lake so they don't waste their time wandering down that way.

Thanks for the compliments! The map actually did used to be connected together until I decided to split the continent up.

I updated the map on the higher section and added some more snowy parts. Is that how you were imagining it?

Thank you for pointing out that little arm thing. I was going to turn it into an island awhile ago, but forgot to do it for some reason.
