Organizing your maps

Recommended Posts

hi all.  On the sidebar when you are editing maps, it has a list of all your maps

and the maps that are related to them.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to move them around and get them in order

without taking years to do it.

Thanks!

Depends on your definition of "easy", but you have drag-and-drop as well as the regular copy-paste. That's all I've ever needed.

I use blank maps as folders. That way I can keep maps for certain areas together, and it's easier to navigate if I end up making loads of them.

For myself, I use the following system, and drag and drop secondary maps into one larger map to represent that it's "a part of the bigger world".

We start with the overworld. In my case, it's called Vanaheim.

Now, I'm zooming into a region of Vanaheim. The Iron Falls. I'll make a map called Iron Falls and drag it into the Vanaheim map. It will now appear in a drop-down style, as Ooga above said, using a map as a folder.

I'll repeat this by dragging my city, Hephaestus, into the map Iron Falls, and a specific building, The Blacksmith, into the map for Hephaestus.

Bam. Four tiered map sorting system.
