Hey all! I created another instructional video on how to build an RPG Town Theme. Hopefully this can appeal to beginners who want to get into game audio :)

While you don't get into the hardcore specifics, your style of teaching is incredibly easy to follow. Color-coding the different instruments was a very minor but helpful aspect, I should add.

Thank you very much. I think it is best to highlight the very basics and fundamentals because it makes everything way easier down the line. Thanks for your support !

what program is this? Sorry if you mentioned it somewhere in the video and I didn't hear ^^;

It's Fruitt Loops (or FL STUDIO in short). Not 100% sure which version hes using, but I bet it's atleast 11 (11.0.0.3) or could be version 10 too.

Yes sorry for the late reply this is Fruity Loops or FL Studio for short. I am using Version 10. I did try 11, but for some reason I don't like the feeling as much. I really can't explain it

Umm hello Mr Schematist, can you tell me what plugin you used for that bass and pads ? also for the bell ? Are those from Nexus 2 or Sytrus or other plugin ? Can you tell me the precise name if those from Nexus ?

I'd like the sounds, thanks

This looks like it'd be helpful for a lot of people, however I don't have a thread of musical knowledge and I can't understand any of these types of programs at all. Like how to even play any notes. :/

  Give yourself a little time to play around with the program of your choice. There is no rush really. I promise it gets less scary over time :). I would also recommend picking up the piano!

The nexus piano has far too much reverb. I use it every now and then but I mostly use The Giant VST for my piano patterns.

Giant Vst ? I've just heard it now, I think I should check it out, Oh yeah I've bought Zebra 2 and Zebralette yesterday, and yeah it works nice, I don't know why Zebra 1 didn't work though, however I don;t know which preset that is good for making RPG music in Zebra, May I know what preset you're using when you use zebra ? I mean piano or guitar or just other instrument ?

Umm you know, my question is a bit silly, but really, I can't find a good instrument in both Zebra, or it just my sense that is not good enough :(. Can you give some recommendation instrument from Zebra ? thanks a lot..

I really like the Giant. It is my favorite piano VST so far other than True Pianos. Zebra is a little tricky sometimes you might have to play with some of the parameters of the samples to achieve the sound you want. I really can't say what works and what doesn't hahaha. That is a question I can't answer what I may like you may not like and vice versa. I will say I do not think it is a good idea to use only zebra samples to create a whole song. try combining VST's to get a nice final track.

Oh okay I will try to experiment with the parameter in Zebra, last time I check the Zebralette and Zebra 2, I think Zebralette don't have any good sound(at least for me) and much of the preset has weird name, so confusing(it makes a noob like me become frustrated), but I managed to find several good instrument in Zebra 2. It was a relieved :)

On the other day I look at some great orchestral VST called East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra, but I don't really know should I try it or not, do you have or know about that VST Mr Schematist ? I mean whether it is a necessary fo make a RPG theme ? The price is expensive considering they bundled in many package and series, I don't know if it's worth to buy or not  :mellow: ?

Or dou you think Edirol is enough for orchestra in making RPG theme ?

Sorry if my question is a troublesome one.. I just thinking maybe you own it, or you know something about it.. if no then forget about my question..

Thank you very much.
