Cait 385 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) I lost all, but a single cell of my original dog set from FSM. I realized that it was an edit. I like the front and back, but the sides I think needs work. I am not sure what, though. Any advice would be, really helpful, if you get my meaning. Ihope someone sees what I need to do. UPDATE: I recreated my Cat character set, only I do not like the back side & am not sure what to do to make it look right. SpookyMothman 361 Posted June 8, 2014 D'aww~ I don't need to be sprite savvy to know that it's really good. Adorable, even! The ears on the left- and right-facing sprites do look off, though. I think the big problem is the outline color; it's too dark. Try using the outline shade on the top of the dog's head to recolor the top and front parts of the dog's ears. Maybe consider making the far ear a pixel's width thinner, too. Nicely done, Cait.
Cait 385 Posted June 8, 2014 Yeah, I only had a single cell of the original character set that the other guy made. I've had to recreate it, up, left & right, plus, animate the front view. I will look at the color as suggested & see if that helps.
Cait 385 Posted June 15, 2014 OP UPDATED: added cat sprite. I am in need of suggestions on the back side of the cat.
SpookyMothman 361 Posted June 15, 2014 It looks just fine to me, Cait. It feels like it has a different style from the dog, but I like the way it looks and feels a lot. Nicely done.
ihartrpgs 148 Posted June 18, 2014 I love how they look, Cait. I think the kitten is adorable and I like the back. It looks a little rounder in the back compared to the default cat sprite, which makes it look much cuter to me. For the dog, I think it looks good as well. For the ears, have you thought about adding a bit of a shadow to it? Here is a rough example of what I mean: The one in the second row, first column has the ear inverted out. The one in the second row, second column is positioned like how you originally have it.
nash004 16 Posted June 19, 2014 The cat sprite is freakin' cute. I tell ya. Never gonna think twice about using it.. But it would be better if you'd be able to add a bit of motion on the tail, just like the white cat with your dog edit. Notice the cat's tail over there and base it from that.
