Darkanine

Your RPG main character.

I'm extremely envious of everyone else's work and ideas here. I wish I could join this thread, but I don't possess enough detail in my own work to provide anything solid just yet.

Let it be known I'm utterly in love with SpookyMothman's character set design.

Lance

lkw9x.jpg

Quila

Some of my main characters for my actual project. It will be a Dark Fantasy type with elements similar to Terranigma(story wise and athmosphere) and a unique turn based battlesystem with real proportions.

Lance is some kind of a Knight who is near his final trial to become a special form of Warrior(not sure about the names of those classes yet). He is a bit quiet but conservative, due to his past. Quila is a girl who mastered the magic combat style and meets Lance early in the game. She is with him most of the time and they will evolve a romantic and dramatic relationship from time to time. Though the game is mainly about a disrupted world, war, medievial fantasy with a darker athmosphere and a design which is similar to Terranigma here and there.

Oh and another one, who plays an important role:

Veridia - Master of Sword & Magic combat style, leader of the town where Lance is living and master for him. She will join the party in a later progress and she is kinda powerful.

Update: First combat design for Lance and Quila:

Hey, this looks fun. My turn! :)

This is from my current work in progress, Dagon's Call (http://www.rpgmakervxace.net/topic/24526-dagons-call-feedback/).

Her name: Angela

Age: (18-21)

Description: Angela is the main protagonist of Dagon's Call. Times are tough in her hometown. She has been selected by her village (Port St. Carl) to be the Emissary to the god Dagon. Angela's role as Emissary is to travel to Dagon's tower and entreat the deity to bring the fishing industry back to life for her town.

Angela has spent most of her life in Port St. Carl under the watch of her grandmother, Ella. Angela doesn't have any memories of her mother, who left town when she was a baby. No one in town will talk about her mother. When pressed, all Ella will tell Angela is that her mother was a brave and compassionate woman who had her reasons for leaving, but who loved Angela very much.

Because of her relative isolation, Angela is very naiive and lacking in perspective. She finds it difficult to empathize with others and has the tendency to be too trusting of strangers. Because of this, her relationship with Michael (her long time best friend) is more than simply coincidence - the two often balance each other out somewhere between being carefree and restrained. If nothing else, each finds the other to be genuinely interesting.

On the surface, Angela comes off as wistfully ignorant of the world around her or even stupid. While the former might have some truth to it, the latter is anything but true. Angela may not have many experiences beyond the rocky shores of Port St. Carl, but she is a fast learner and is quite aware of her own shortcomings, including her ignorance. And while her quick wit can often land her in a spot of trouble, it frequently serves to lighten the mood of those around her. She has a way of invoking the adventurous spirit in those she comes in contact with. Additionally, through the influence of Ella, Angela is a moralist, placing more value on doing what's right rather than what's practical. For better or worse, Angela is stubborn in her assertion of right over wrong and won't hesitate to call out a friend for confusing the two.

Notes on the images: The first two were made using Ace's in-game generator plus a bit of frankenspriting and custom work. The third is hand drawn, then digitally colored and enhanced.

With THAT out of my mind, somehow...
I'm currently in the concept work for my first official RPG project, but I can at least give a bio. My character is named Nielson and he is actually a time traveler. He was trying to go to the year 1913 and stop WW1 from happening, but the machine went awry and he landed in 1490 Italy. He obviously has no idea about what to do or how to get back. This results in him being overly cautious and he is seen by everyone else as a rather quirky fellow, possibly mad or insane. The story is meant to be a satire about the difference between cultures and how people handle it. Still in the works, but a decent start for having been thinking about this since last night. :P

Well I probably will not really release a full game, but here is the one I have been using for the main character of my test game and demos:

Name: Kayzee

Sprite & Face: Just been using the generic RTP fairy graphics for now.
Weapon choice: Staves
Character type: Cute Forest Fairy
RPG Class: Nature-based magic user
Special abilities and traits: Nature-based magic, high agility and magic, low attack and defense.
Small bio:

A cute little fairy chosen by the fairy queen to go to the mortal realm and find a new ruler for the fairy world as part of a old tradition. Is chosen for her unique habit of actually sitting and thinking and asking questions about the world instead of just playing childish games all day like most fairies.

I donno, it's probably a rather silly character, but it's mostly just something I randomly came up with when playing around.

When I first got RPG Maker VX, I spend a lot of time messing with it and the character who occupies the first slot, is Ralph (how I despise the name though). So whenever I tested something out, I was playing as him, and I suppose he grew on me.

But then a special someone from Division Heaven decided to revamp his look from the Ace release, and I had to make him my main.

Vernik.
Ralphb_zpsb295876e.png
Equipment of choice: One-handed swords/sabres, and shields. He becomes able to tame "living" shields later.
Classes: Barricade Baron or Syphon Lord
Affinity: Life Stealing Corrupt magic.
Bio: Misfortune follows his every step. There's barely a moment in Vernik's life that isn't spent trying to survive. Some might say his life is a literal living hell, and to top it all off, he doesn't even know why he is subjected to such anguish. His game begins when events start unfolding to give Vernik a promising chance to figure out some answers about his tormentors, and the truth about his living hell.
