What VST Plugins do you use?

Recommended Posts

So, I'm trying to get back into producing music. I used to produce a lot of electronic/EDM style music, but havent been doing it much lately. considering I'm working heavily on a large scale RPG project, I figured I'd start working on some concept music.

So I figured I'd ask around here, if you guys have any particular VST synthesizers you use for producing? Primarily stuff with a 16 bit style. I like organic sounds as well so if you know any good software for realistic instruments that would also be nice.

I use Fruityloops Studio, and primarily use Sytrus for the synths, because I'm comfortable with it, but I'd like to find something a little more specifically geared towards that 16 bit sound.

Any suggestions?

Check out my most recent song here and if you feel like giving some feedback I would appreciate it!

Thanks everyone!

I love Massive,FM8,Zebra, and absynth, For 16 bit sounds I am not sure what to really go with though. That is really up to the the musician, but you should check these out.

IF you got $$ try Musicshake, if not try Audiosauana. I currently us MS tho I don't have $$ for the downloads. I need free downloading for my music. ^^

IF your interested in MS, here's my latest song so you'll hear some notes. God be with you all!!!!!!!

I just started to make my own music and I use fruity loops to make it all.  I'm just building up my collection of VSTs now, but I find that this site is a good source for them.  I have found some really nice sounding plug-ins on here, such as a nice violin, a bas guitar and orchestrial strings.

Fruityloops here too. The 27 meg orchestra soundfont is pretty good, especially if it's smothered in reverb. I'm pining for EastWest Symphonic Orchestra, but it's pricey.

I like your track a lot, phraktol. If I was going to criticise, I'd say a key change somewhere would be cool, but maybe just a brief one as I also like the oppressive feel you build with the repetition. Nice work :)

If you want more authentic 16-bit FM synths, try VOPM. It's free and is pretty much an emulation of the Sega Genesis sound chip. Quite fun to use actually.
