yuyu! 13 Posted August 21, 2014 (edited) Hey, not bad! It looks much, much better than my first parallax! It's a bit hard to see the ground well enough in the picture, but I think I see flowers in the back. They might be just a bit too "spacey" (for a lack of a better word). Perhaps clustered flowers like the ones in Mack's tilesets might look a bit more natural (the multicolored autotile ones)? Just my humble suggestion! It also might help to use a couple other tree graphics, to create a more realistic feel - or possibly tint some of the trees to be varying shades of green. If you want more oomph, I think it's fair to say that you've got several trees to block the player's path already. I think anything you should add from this point should be below the player - such as tall grass, mushrooms, small twigs (that you can walk on?), different flowers, etc. Hope that helps! :] Edited August 21, 2014 by yuyu! It's kind of hard to tell but it looks like you have the sand(?) covering the flowers, that is questionable though because I can't tell from this view. You can use other more deciduous trees to add more flavour as a forest tends to have more than one type of tree in general. You can also add something like grass to where the roots of the trees are to bring it out more to those borders. And if you like, a little light beams (which are optional but look great for forest maps) can make this more vibrant! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
