MasterTaffer 23 Posted September 26, 2014 I just recently started using FL Studio 11 and am looking for tips and suggestions for improving my compositions. Pretty soon I'll start taking suggestions for compositions intended for use in RPG Maker, but right now I'm just trying to experiment and familiarize myself with the program. So far, I've made three tracks for my current game project, as well as a somewhat random Mega Man X inspired track. So here they are, have a listen and tell me what you all think. eatorl 16 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) hi! Nice music, very immersive. I do not have so much time to review but you worth it, here I go: Molten Lake: -The percussion is good, its very good, the only "problem" I see is the amount of reverb in the metallic percussions, at 0:15 (vocals with percussion) may sound a little over-reverbed, the vocals got a fair and precise amount of reverb but when combining with the percussion you got a lot of refraction and it may sound not enough clear. About the way you develop the form of the piece its quite good ah! you got something like: A, A', A, A'', A''', A''', Outro, I believe. The instrumentation its great! It really fits with the name of the piece, something like twisted demons or men singing while they play their rustic/evil percussions, the pad it's great! For my taste, I may have varied a little the tombs phrase at 1:11 to give them a more "climatic" sensation, trying to making fit even more with the other (electronic?) percussion which sounds really good! Maybe adding some sixteenth notes, but well, that's your decision and your own taste/style. I love the sounds (except for the metallic percussion at the beginning, which I kind of like but, again, it may be a little over-reverbed, mainly because of the already-reverbed vocals) and I can see you are exploiting FL Studio like a gold mine! Great! One more thing, I believe the answer is yes, but: is it designed to be looped? I would really like to continue checking the tracks but I have to go now and I don't want to give an incomplete or little thought review. I may return later.Congratulations and keep it up! Note: Where did you get the pictures? They're amazing! Edited September 26, 2014 by eatorl
MasterTaffer 23 Posted September 28, 2014 Yeah, I noticed that reverb problem shortly after I exported the song. It was my first ever track so I didn't think of it at the time. Thanks for the reply.
