Rai 0 Posted October 13, 2014 Hey, I think these look really good! On the first map, is that pink patch in the top right significant? It stands out because of the color, so if I were playing, I'd go right to it. The varied greens in the grass make it look somewhat... marshy? Not sure if that's what you were going for, but it looks interesting nonetheless! The patterns on the roofs and stone pathways are very detailed, and the objects that don't have that same kind of shading, like the statue in the first screenshot and the shop(?) in the center of the 2nd screenshot seem to be somewhat different styles from the rest. They both look very cool as they are, but the statue, and other objects with shading like that, do seem to stand out a bit... If that's what you're going for, then it's fine; if not, maybe try to make their shading more similar to the other objects/buildings on the map? Very cool though, and nicely detailed!! HumanNinja 144 Posted October 14, 2014 They all have too much space IMO. I would add more buildings on the outside map. And I would decrease the size of the indoor maps. Most everything looks good though. Except the cabinets in the inn look too large for the height of the walls
prop11 0 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Thanks for all the feedback, I was going for a marshy look for this city, due to the games setting in a desolate wasteland where only pockets of civilization have survived. I see your point about the cabinets Human and ill change the wall size accordingly. Im gonna add some more screenshots tonight. The pink bits in the top right are just flowers, but I will change the colour so it does not distract the player. Edited October 14, 2014 by prop11
jetpackgone 22 Posted October 16, 2014 I like the wasteland look! That would explain the open areas outdoors, but like HumanNinja said, I would make the indoor maps smaller with less floor space. Also, maybe you could change the course of the river in the first map to look more curvy? Keep it up!

bluenakki 3 Posted October 18, 2014 from what I've learned so far big maps are harder to work and you could add things to you maps so they don't look bland but overall your maps are very good keep up the good work

crystalknight 28 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) I like the looks of your map, they look quite dark and marshy. However (as some people said before me), I also think that they are a bit too large/spacy. Maybe adding in some small details, or dark coloured/marsh/swamp flowers or something might to the job. As for the dungeon, the design looks cool and I think it's beautiful, but a bit too large/ too many empty spaces. => I'm not an expert mapper and also learning new stuff daily, so don't think this is advice from a pro xd, just personal opinion *EDIT* just read that you're going to update the maps, can't wait to see the results Edited October 18, 2014 by crystalknight
