Help me some ideas for monster plz -_-

:3 hi there

i'm making a tactic game, i think it's better to write out summary for each of monsters

for how they look, their behaviors & abilities before starting design them, that way i can

design them more effective.

....

So i want to ask you guys for helping me with some ideas for monster & it should have this form:

1 - Monster name

2 - Some describle about where the monster from, where does it live, what does it like, ....

3 - Its Special Ability ( Yes / No ) - what that ability is if yes?

4 - Who can be affected by this ability? (Allies, Enemies, All, Self)

5 - How far (Range) this ability can reach (counts in cells - tactic, you know)

 

Here is an example:

1, Moon bird

2, Desc: Its shape look like the crescent, usually it likes sitting on treetops. It appears only when the night, in the dark its glowing like the moon and therefor, people always mistake this bird with the moon & don't know about its existent.

3, Effect: before be destroyed (by battle only), it cast a strong light that can heal allies around.

+1 LIFE

Limit: All allies

 

Range: 1 cell

You might want to be a bit more specific. What is this game about? What kind of monsters are you looking for? I can't really help on ideas on monsters and creatures as a general concept.

Monsters are usually inhabitants of the world in one form or another, so you should probably detail your world a bit more if you need help in that area. That should get things started at least.

 

As for what the mechanics/lore of the monster, unless you are going to make an encyclopedia for reading up about these things, which I do think is a nifty idea, the exact details are kind of irrelevant metadata.

Frog Demons: Man Like frog Demons, Could even have a civilization.
Mammoth Gorilla: Something that you would probably see in Last air bender. A mammoth with Gorilla front arms.
Imagine a Chinese dragon (long skinny), and give it near full body sized wings, and spikes along the spine and tail. and give it wing talons.

Ok, my game is a board game, you collect monsters & build the team as you like (exactly 4 monsters for a team)

then you go around the world fighting against other players. Some time wild monsters, the monsters doesn't have level.

It likes pokemon without evolve or lv up, you can say... but my monster is more.. cruel, bloody, dangerous.

It can be any kind of monsters, fairy, warrior, dragon, ....


Frog Demons: Man Like frog Demons, Could even have a civilization.
Mammoth Gorilla: Something that you would probably see in Last air bender. A mammoth with Gorilla front arms.
Imagine a Chinese dragon (long skinny), and give it near full body sized wings, and spikes along the spine and tail. and give it wing talons.

Well, thank you but could you give it a little more detail... :D

I was just giving a few quick Ideas to help increase the threads activity a bit. I'm more of a character literate artist than a creature literate artist.

Just some ideas: (some based on other games, as you'd design them yourself, it wouldn't be rips anyway) And I'm not creative on names :).

 

 

Name: Fairy Dragon

Desc: Azure colored skin, not too big of a dragon, just a bit larger than human size, softly multicoloured dragonfly like wings, short claws on arms and legs, make it stand up, not laying or sitting, maybe with a sort of magic between it's two hands, like it's preparing to shoot out an orb/magic.

Effect: Magic mirror: takes damage from magic, but casts the same spell back at it's enemies. (if this is too hard to program, use this instead: all allies gain 10% resistance to magic)

Limit: 1 enemy (or all allies, depending on what skill you'd use)

Range: The mirror: well should have infinite range as it needs to recast the spell back, the resistance: 1 tile above, beneath, left, right of the dragon + self

Stats: Main stat: big magic def. Decent magic attack

 

 

 

Name: Plague Wolf

Desc: undead zombie like wolf, red eyes, dark black skin, holes/rips/wounds in it's body leaking some blood. Make it stand on 4 legs. Emit a dark aura around it. Mouth open, like it's growling.

Effect: Chance to poison enemy on each attack. Or: ignores 10% of enemy defense on attack.

Limit: 1 enemy

Range: 1 tile, the enemy that gets attacked

Stats: Main stat HP, decent attack, poor magic defense

 

 

 

Name: Cyclops

Desc: Humanoid like monster, make it a bit larger than a human, give it some clothes, like a primitive human like one pice-torned red garment, one eyed in the middle instead of 2 eyes, muscular, make him wield one or 2 weapons, like spiked clubs, a huge rock,... Make it bare-footed, maybe filthy nails idk. Probably bald (as in, no hair)

Effect: Immune to blind

Limit: Cyclops

Range: Self

Stat: big attack, huge Hp, very slow speed

As for the dragon, everything is how I imagined it, except for the face lol, I would've gone for a more dragon like face, but still, I LOVE your artwork, it looks great (and funny in a way)

Name: Iguanadon

Desc: It is thought to be extinct but recently found in tropical rainforest eating trees and bushes around. People thought it was a reptile as its name implied but it actually has green scaly feather around it's body. Its long thick tongue is used to reach leaves and also to attack it's foes. Recent data said that it is not just a herbivore.

Effect: Hit enemy real hard with it's long tongue

Range: up to 2 tiles in the front

 

Name: Rubelza

Desc: Glowing a bright red light, no one ever know what it looked like among the red gleam, but one thing they know is that nobody is supposed be near it as it's drain all the power. If ever encountered use a projectile weapon as it cannot move fast toward the shooter.

Effect: Reduce 3/4 power/attack if 2 tiles near. It can also drain hp in it's 2 tiles circle.

Range: 2 tiles around it.

 

Name: One-eyed-rooster

Desc: Rooster with only one eyed in the front. The eye is not the only thing different from a regular white rooster but also it's golden fraying crest in it's head. Seeing its sole eye will petrify the one seeing it.

Effect: Cast stone, but cast stone on itself if the user have mirror

Name: Stonewater Golem

Description: A large armor of stone is made to protect and move about a fragile orb containing water and the magic needed to control the body. Technically made up of 2 creatures, as one can destroy the body or attack the orb directly. However, the orb is protected on all sides except the back, and the body is incredibly tough.

Attacks: Close-Range Melee strikes at the front and sides, Long-Range laser beam spell to enemies behind.

Purpose: Defend Choke-Points by just standing in the way.

Looking forward to these if they ever get completed:

 

Name: Blizzardon

Desc: it has "pterodactyl" like wings (see google) for high speed flights. It stands on 2 legs, it's wings are attached to it's 2 arms. It looks up, and prideful and breathes an icy blue flame. It has big claws on it's hands, and a dark blue tail without many spikes. It's belly is crystalised by it's ice cold temperatures. It's about 1,5 times human size and slightly fat.

Effect: immume to ice/half dmg from water/2x lightning dmg

Limit: self

Range: 2 squares, breath attack.

Main stats: big hp and def, low speed, medium att.

 

 

 

Name: Necrodrake

Desc: bone dragon, as in only made of bones, standing up, majestic looking like the proud dragon it once was, bone wings wide open, some few pieces of flesh remaining between some bones. Mouth open, no teeth. Bone tail. BloodRed gleaming eyes, a small foggy/dark aura surrounding it.

Effect: Bone skin: half damage from ranged attacks.

Limit: self

Range: 1 square

Special Ability: On Fire - deals 5% from max HP to itself every turn.

Desc: Red/Dark brown skin goblin wearing cloth armor, rusty helm with horns and wielding sword + shield.
Special Ability: Running - can move 2 tiles further if moving away from enemies.
                 Flanking - deals 10% extra damage to enemies if another Goblin is next to the target.
Movement Range: 4 
Name: Goblin Thrower
Desc: Red/Dark brown skin goblin wearing only cloth scraps and wielding rocks.
Special Ability: Running - can move 2 tiles further if moving away from enemies.

Desc: Red/Dark brown skin bulky goblin wearing rusty armor and wielding rusty shield.

                 Sneaky - runs away by 3 tiles if there's an enemy next to it at the end of the turn.
Movement Range: 7 
Name: Goblin Lord
Desc: Red/Dark brown skin goblin wearing colorful cloth armor and rusty crown. Wielding a scepter.
Special Ability: Running - can move 2 tiles further if moving away from enemies.
                 Inspire - Goblins in 4 tiles reach receive 10% less damage and deal 10% more damage.
                 Lord - Deals 10% extra damage for every goblin on the battlefield. Receives 5% less damage for each goblin on the battlefield.
Movement Range: 5

Name: Cube
Description: A floating, segmented cube that contains a magic core. When closed, Cubes are very tough, but cannot attack. When opened, Cubes are able to take damage, but can fire beams out from their cores.

Attacks: Open/Close Self, Long-range beam attack when open.

 

Name: Sandmaw Skeleton
Description: The skeleton of an alligator-type creature, although it has a gigantic mouth. On soft terrain like sand or snow, it can swim through it to increase movement range. As a skeleton it is somewhat fragile, but it still hits very hard.

Attacks: Bite

 

Name: Thunderhare

Description: A creature the size and shape of a large rabbit, albeit blue in coloration with yellow spikes and highlights. Quick movement allows it to get in good position to use it's incredible roar attack, a move that sounds like thunder and can hit with enough force to push enemies a distance.

Attack: Thunder Roar, dealing damage and pushing back a target in close-range.

Hmmh, I've got to say, that if I'd could get this monster in my team, I'd def get it xd, I think it looks pretty badass.

I just think the tail is a bit too big. I really like the wings, and ribcage + skull.

 

*EDIT* The longer I look at it, the more I like it. Even if you won't use it, it's great to see this piece of art.

ahaha, She seems a bit more girl like instead of monster-like than I imagined xD. Though it will probably look decent when it's a final product.

She's still kinda hot though :P. if I post more, I'm going to use colours for the keywords like you're doing, will make your job a bit more easier :). I'll try thinking of a bit easier/more detailed monsters!

The Crux is a creature of elemental glory.
Its torso is v shaped it has two sets of wings and two sets of thin arms and legs. Its head is birdlike and may or may not have teeth.
Crux are colored by their elements with slight variations and coats.
Fire: fire crux' are usually violet they can range between burgundy and some blueish shades of purple. They tend to have bright yellow lines longing their skin, and their beaks are short with small teeth on the sides and two larger fangs in front. Fire crux are hot and can occasionally spew fire.
Water: water crux have two long curled ears and a long toothless razor like beak. Water crux are various shades of blue and great with leopard print patterns of black and/or silver. Water crux' feathers are small and more solid like in shape and density. Water crux sometimes have a venom gland and two small fangs at the front of their beak. Their tail is long and dragon like.
Earth: earth crux' have wide medium length beaks with large teeth lining the beak. Earth crux have short ears and wide eyes, their coat varies from grey to earthly reds. And comes in various mixed patterns. Earth crux are usually wider and stronger than than other crux breeds.
Air: air crux are mixed shades of white yellow and Greg, they have long beaks and may or may not have teeth. Their coat usually follows a diamond pattern. Air crux do not have ears, and they have very keen eyes, and long talons an their hands and feet.

Sorry to say, but please make your own stats for it, but do credit me for the detail please.

It should only have 2 legs, but otherwise spot on!, though I imagined putting the arms on a double shoulder. Keep up the good work.

Name: Flare hydra

 

Desc: A fearsome beast risen from hot lava. It lives at a volcano, killing anything that gets near. It has 4 heads, each with a different personality (look). Each head, has dragon like looks, they're necks are connected through it's upper body. It has 4 legs no arms. It looks fiersome, gruesome, deadly with angry looking eyes. It's body is made up from dragon scales and have a lava-ish colour. 

Effect: Multibite => can attack up to 4 adjacent enemies.

Limit: 4 enemies

Range: all adjacent cells

Stats: Big hp and above average other stats. slow speed.
