+ Myst88 87 Posted December 22, 2014 I think it depends on how dense the forest is. Personally I prefer the leaf overlay, but I would lower the opacity a little, just so it doesn't stand out as much. It kinda draws your attention away from the actual map.

I really do like the leaf overlay too~ But it's true, I should lower the opacity a tad bit like you said. The Forest of Magic is a pretty dense place...
+ LadyMinerva 998 Posted February 28, 2015 Okie time for another screenie~ :3 I'm more and more careful at where I place things on the map after a couple of more inspiration screenies I saw... xD So here is what I call the first area of the Touhou Project: The Hakurei Shrine to any Touhou know-it-alls~ This one shows one of Ceci's Parallax Exteriors, I did a little minor edit to her buildings by stretching the rooftop just a little bit to equal the wall height. Note: I used a different tile grid since I'm parallaxing buildings that require a specific point for it to be in. So if you see anything like blue mushrooms or green bushes; don't worry, they are not in the project, I use it as a grid so I know where to place things as well as determining collisions. So with all that said here is the raw mapping of the Hakurei Shrine (warning: large file up ahead!) and here is a small sreenie with the effects as well as another screenie showing the interior of the Hakurei Shrine. Since Japanese tiles are really scarce in terms of available for free, I really couldn't do a lot to interiors so here is my best attempt of creating one with a few minor edits in between~ :3
Tsarmina 2,612 Posted February 28, 2015 Your interior turned out really well, Minmin! (Like...REALLY well.) Even with the scarcity of Japanese resources you made it look really authentic~
