Half Life Simulator based in a subgenre of Virtual Dollhouse but also switches into an RPG Mode for exploration and story progression. Basically, your Heroes also have daily lives and have a home town that supports their adventuring efforts. Their adventuring efforts also leads to more benefits to their home community. So it’s a cycle. Improve home town to improve adventuring to improve the home town to improve more adventuring. } .:Genre:. Fantasy .:Game Progression:. The Game is still in early development stages. Mostly creating underlying systems using scripts and eventing. .:Recruitment: Completely Open to Suggestions .:Story:. At the beginning God created man and split pieces of himself and placed those pieces at the very core of his creation. God did this to have a vessel to experience his creation of life. However, Lucifer became jealous and envious of man. No longer did Lucifer feel important and beloved as God became preoccupied with his latest creation. So Lucifer defied God and began murdering men and devouring those morsels of God’s being. His theory was that each fragment of man held a piece of God’s infinite power, so by devouring those morsels of delicious spirit and soul Lucifer no longer felt below God. In his own right he became a God of his own. God confronted Lucifer and a battle ensued. At the end, of the battle God was greatly weakened. He expended so much energy creating man and earth. Lucifer stood nearly victorious. In one last attempt God uncreated himself and disappeared entirely. With his disappearance from entire existent of most of Lucifer’s godly power vanished as well. The Arch Angels were able to banish Lucifer into the core of the earth in a prison of Crystalized Crimson Blood. This Blood Cage is made of angelic blood which still has remnants of holiness enough to contain Lucifer. Lucifer being clever fought mercilessly until the Angels zapped themselves of all their blood. Creating a never ending pit of fire and lava. Known as Hell. Lucifer was still trapped however he was able to drag down the souls of wicked man through the veil separating the spiritual world from the physical. At the end all the Arch Angels became statues as their bodies no longer had the sustenance of holy blood. However all was not lost. A spirit was created in the great struggle. A spirit known only as Zio. You are Zio. Zio the guardian spirit of humanity. But you are not all. For Lucifer tried his attempt at creating life and he created a shadowy being known as Vanus. Vanus, the void and bringer of nothingness. Vanus is working with the Opaculis, a group of wealthy, powerful humans who believe the world is theirs to control. But at last they are only mortal. And men desire anything but to see their experience of life and all its glorious wonders come to an end. To avoid this at all cost Vanus has told them of a mythical object, known as Eternal Reign. To achieve this goal they must form Eternal Reign. Vanus has informed them of an ancient document created by Lucifer that explains his theory of Eternal Reign, a substance that gives the possessor the ability of Infinite Control. Control over life and death. Control over space and time. Control that allows them to create life itself and avoid death. Opaculis knows of only one way to create Eternal Reign and that is by reducing the population and throwing the world into an entire disarray. So with all their power, they started wars. Creating creatures and monsters and famine and disease. Creating chaos and discord. Destroying the world’s ecosystem and breaking laws that govern the world. They’ve opened dimensions where Lucifer kept god’s failed creations. Consorted with evil demons and dark arts. All this in hopes of forging Eternal Reign which will only appear as a self-reconstruction mechanism to reset the world. Vanus has grown in power he was able to wipe out the memories of most humankind. Leaving them infantile and broken. After these humans were thrown into a Dark Age conquering most of them were easy. But not all of them were conquered. There are still some communities left where humans are surviving. It seems that you are not the only Guardian Spirit in this world. There are other benevolent Spirits like you tasked at foiling Vanus and preventing the formation of Eternal Reign. However, Vanus is smart and his wishes to keep the Guardian Spirits far apart and weakened and broken are almost fulfilled. With the wealth and power of Opaculis it’s only a matter of time before all the Guardian Spirits and their hold outs are broken down and destroyed. So it’s either Survive and Prosper or Death and Despair. Zio your task is to stop Vanus. Vanus and Opaculis has to be stopped. The world has to be restored and faith in God has to be reestablished. You are given the ability to create one vessel. This vessel will house your spirit and soul and will be of humankind. You will have to teach mankind. Teach them how to live. Teach them how to grow. Teach them how to survive against the darkness that surrounds them. Be a beacon of light in their world of ever growing darkness. Go out explore the world. Conquer places of power that will help in your quest for prosperity. Relearn the forgotten arts and discover more about the world. Reconnect and forge unbreakable bonds with other communities like your own and combine all your efforts into relinquishing Vanus of his power and world control. Zio must lead a community of humans to survival and prosperity and eventually to restoration of the World. .:Character Bios:. The character rap sheet is numerous as I hope for there to be so many playable characters that'll it make your head spend. There will of course be some key main characters. But until I get the systems laid down and fleshed out the only true important character is you. Which is you being the main interaction character the spirit. Battle_System_ Layout This is the Layout for the battle system I will be scripting. I will be turning this layout into a design document to outline all potential parameters before coding My question is does this layout look appeasing enough? Dynamic AI and AI Teaching System: Mainly I'm looking to create an Enemy and Comrade AI that learns as the game is played. For example: You can teach allies strategies. These strategies are then placed in a pool and compete for each other. Thus the strategy that leads to better results are used more often then strategies that lead to undesirable results. Thus you don't have complete control but suggestive control over how allies use their intelligence. Your job is to manage and groom the characters more deeply by teaching them. Training them. New enemies present new challenges as characters must observe to record behaviors. The system tries to simulate human learning. But simplified manner. MkZ Battle System Basically a tactical battle system that plays like Terra Battle but has mechanics and logic of Final Fantasy Tactics and Mega man Network. The system has a grid of 10 * 12 thus 120 possible locations. Maximum allies on field is 7 where 1 is a medium and 6 are AI controlled partners. You give general instructions on how to approach enemy by giving out commands. Depending on how intelligent their AI is they'll either be successful or fail. You do have an ability to switch control from your medium to a non medium but you can only control that body for so long before you have to return to the medium. (Avatar anyone lol.) Anyway basically it takes out the long and boring task I find in many Tactical games where you have to manage and control every little thing and wait for each turn. Everything is Real Time so so much is going on in the field. Practically like Terra Battle actors either move into an attack formation to attack a unit. But Pincer is kind of boring although fun. Instead, every actor depending on weapon equip or available skill can attack depending on position. So if a Bow user has a clear shot and a Melee user is behind them they both attack the same unit. If a healer happens to be in healing range then a heal is issued then. The flow is Move > Attack > Skill > Heal > Support Skills > End Phase. Priest are focused on moving to do Heals and Support Skills. Mages and Technical Users are focused on skill. Meleers are focused on attack and Skill. Enemies are pretty dumb in Terra Battle, in this game I want the AI to observe and learn your strategies. Of course depends on how smart the enemy is. A slime would just blob about having no true intelligence. But a Humaniod creature with some intelligent could easily hear a command and issue a counter command. So if you say melee fall back. The anti-medium would say long ranged men come forth. So it is like chess AI and although the pieces maybe greatly dynamic the game is essential the same. Position pieces to attack other pieces. I also want to add one more thing. I want to add realism. So let's say you don't really know how much HP an enemy has without running a observation. This then has party roles. Where you have a character that runs support skill observe whenever x amount of turns has run and remember you can only observe what is in sight. So sight is also important. The medium can only keep account of what's around it. So this since of blindless is what's important for keeping certain characters together or letting other characters go out and solo. Spectre 829 Posted February 2, 2015 I won't doubt your scripting abilities - that is one interesting battle mechanic. On the other hand, though, your story seems very disconnected to the gameplay mechanics. This isn't inherently a bad feature of design, but do note that if you do plan to expand the backstory, consider using a few fixed "party members" that serve to advance the plot line and narrow the disconnect between a "doll-house" and RPG battle gameplay. I don't understand your point on realism, but apart from that it's interesting, if not frustrating, to have your characters work up from a flawed AI. If the teaching of strategies and inherent character intelligence are elements you'd want to implement, you can also consider other aspects; for instance, having a dynamic meter for morale throughout battle that ties in with inherent AI - keep defeating enemies and your characters get more confident with gung-ho strategies; but have too many allies killed off and they'll be on the defensive, or worse, panic and do nothing. This allows better selection of a wider strategy pool. Also consider conflicting strategies; i.e. telling a priest to man the front lines with little defense mid-battle. If this runs counter to your original strategies uploaded to the priest, a visual warning can occur - "Commander, I don't think that's wise"; alternatively the AI just ignores that strategy altogether.
