Lex1337 3 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) Fantasy Gold is a game like any other RPG game. But there's a difference. There is no "real" goal or plot. Instead, the game is cut up into "chapters," but the player cannot see what chapter they are on. There are side-side-quests (yes, that sounds ridiculous) that the hero, bluntly named "Hero" can go on. These vary from getting a carr- *Ahem*, I mean Orange Veggie, killing a wild Tutorial Slime, and even to warding off bees. Along the way, you'll get party members, like Crimson the Crimson Knight. You'll also meet wacky NPCs, like Ralph, Boring NPC, Bene, and Josh. Yes, Josh. There are also many items, equipments, and battles to fight! There is also a wide variety of maps, such as Slime Caves or Deep Cliff. Story: Fantasy Gold has no storyline. Instead, the player's goal is to finish many different quests and explore the vast world. Characters: Hero: The main character. He wakes up on a cliff, with no memory of past events. CogentJin 12 Posted December 22, 2014 Hey Lex, I had a chance to check out your game and it is indeed very different, in a good way. Although I liked the attention to detail, such as the sparkles in the first cave (I wish I had thought of that) and how clever the Spectrum Cave's puzzle is (Which I sucked at), I would encourage everyone to play this game for my favorite reason; personality. This game just oozes personality from the tutorial comments "Not a carrot." to the Hero himself. Even the item being described when opening a chest has it's own flair, it's great. It's great to be able to choose your battles as well, not literally; I mean the direction you want to head as a player. There's just a lot to see and do since it's focus is mainly on the puzzle side with some battles thrown in. At no point did I feel overwhelmed by the enemies so it made for the right pace of progression, besides, you have so many weapons available. Seriously, geez oh man is there a ton of weapons--Haha. But again, that's cool and I really enjoyed myself.
