By chance, have you been mostly drawing assests for the game rather than eventing and such?

I see alot of art progress but nothing actually gameplay wise so maybe your lack of motivation is from just drawing for it? (I had this at one point and decided it best to commission people instead. Drawing everything in a visually lovely game can be tiring).

If you need help with scripting since Spectre is inactive, you could always try asking around for help with stuff to help get you back into your mojo

you play violin with red hair? the whole reason I took up the violin was because I saw a beautiful red head playing one...

 

I used to be really good, third chair of first violin section for a while, and could reasonably play a few concertos and what not. but now, I haven't practiced in over a year...

Loool, it definitely wasn't (I haven't played that long I think). I love my orchestras haha, leading the section is so much fun! I practice only for the joy I get out of it, though competitions and auditions are certainly nice too ^u^

Yeah, pretty much the only work I've been doing is the art. (And the small eventing that comes with setting up maps and dialogue stuff.)

 

The problem that I ran into is that I don't know where to start with my eventing, except at the very beginning--and I haven't finished the required art for the beginning (maps/assets/etc) so I feel like I can't work on the beginning; ergo, I can't work on anything else either. And then I think maybe I'll ATTEMPT to work on the battle system, but I don't have battlers for that either, nor do I know much about balancing a game. thank goodness spec created the entire skills database before leaving though Funny enough, I'm not feeling motivated to create events either, unless it's just basic dialogue and such. I don't know why it's become so hard to move the game forward TT_TT

 

I guess I'm not really needing custom scripts either that I can't already find, it's setting them up and USING them that's been my issue. Spec imported all these fancy scripts in for the battles and I have no idea what they're supposed to do, but I'm really scared to mess with them in case it screws something up....lol. He really knew what he was doing, I just wish I could've like...osmosed the info before he disappeared XD Though you're right, it wouldn't help to ask for some things once in a while stupid perfectionist self always being stubborn

 

Yeahhhh that's why I'm so determined to go through this IIAW even though I think my game will end up being trash. I need to realise that sometimes you just gotta create things without them being perfect XD It just also sucks because I got way busier this week, which is stupid. (Last week I had almost nothing compared to amount of junk I have to accomplish in the next four days, good god.) But I'm going to do it anyway-- for my sake and for the game-- XD

IIAW is over And WOW! I really forgot how awesome it feels to actually code things rather than just create pretty pictures. Also realising that I can work on things out of order and still piece it together in the end has really changed my mindset. I'm ready to create things XD

 

I have one-and-a-half commissions to finish and then Sugar Sweet will be back up on the list of things to-do~

Would love to throw an update your guys' way I can't believe it's been months already....I feel ashamed after saying that I would keep working on it with renewed vigor...XD

 

However, the premise for two basic quests have been set up, as well as some awesome intro text with Lady Finngehrs, the kinda-duchess of the Dolce Sector. I'm trying to move away from working only on the art assets and get some real eventing up in here!

I tend to be super picky, so it would depend on what you would like to work on (and then I would like to see how you work on such things/end results/examples ) Right now I'm keeping an eye out for 2D animators and battle system riggers, if you're interested we can keep talking

I'm afraid SS is going on official hiatus for a bit. (｡•Ì︿•̀｡) (not that it wasn't really on unofficial hiatus for like the past half year...) Frankly I've been unmotivated and I'm pretty stressed and generally unhappy as this year is coming to a head, as well as dealing with some here and there health concerns, but no worries, I'm not dying yet 

 

Not sure when hiatus is ending -- whenever I'm able to grab this lovely project up again. I've even had some ideas in the past couple days that I might try to implement when I get back

This game is a fun little concept. Food = Good  RPG = Great  Food + RPG = EPIC 

 

I hope you feel better soon in both your physical and mental health. Being ill and stressed out doesn't sound like a fun combo.

Bad news :c

 

(As if we needed bad news on a game on hiatus, but what happens happens I guess)

 

So I'm moving soon, and our house is currently up for showing. However, that means we took everything off the tables/countertops and kind of put them in boxes and put those boxes who knows where, and in the process my tablet pen somehow got taken away....and now I have no idea where it is. ;_; I've spent forever searching for it, but I can't find it. I've been working on puzzles, and as you know I tend to be very graphics heavy on everything, puzzles included, and it's put me into a real stressor. :< another block to the progress, I guess.

 

(on a random happier note I'M TRAVELING TO JAPAN in a few weeks so YAY)

Wow, how did I not reply to this? XD This was like two months ago, I'm such a bum.

 

@lonequeso I wasn't able to find the pen XD I gave up, ordered a new one yesterday. But it won't be here until after I start school v_v it was just for vacation but it ws fantastic!!! Definitely the best trip I've ever been on, and I love to travel  sorry for not taking you with me tho, obviously I didn't see this until after I came back XD ^^" I think most of us here on rmc would love Japan because we're very invested in their culture hehe, I definitely loved it in its entirety~
