Anyway, an update on my side: introducing another medical NPC, Sherbet. Perhaps my attempt to reduce the saturation of ladies (did you know that 120% of all NPCs in Sugar Sweet are female) in-game. :3

 

Likes: Money, Hair Dye, Zuckerhunds, Fall Fashion

Hates: Winters, Farms, Poor People

 

Fun Facts:

• Sherbet has a Zuckerhund (sugar hound) named Sorbet.
• Sherbet is Minthe's ex-boyfriend and business partner. While Minthe decided to run a medical charity in Dolce, Sherbet became one of Salato's top commercial surgeons.
• Unlike Minthe, Sherbet is an actual doctor.
• In case it wasn't apparently obvious, Sherbet has heterochromia.
• His high school nickname was "Pink Lemonade".

I'm really pleased with how the cloth texture turned out! She has a custom sprite too that took me way longer than it should've. ^-^"

Another male NPC update:

 

This guy. His military look besets the fact that he's now retired, and runs one of the most important stores in the entire game: The General's Store (geddit? geddit?)

 

General Custard is officially in business, and stocks quite literally a metric ton of goods all over the place, with the stocks varying every time you enter the store. One moment, he's got the latest bundle of Sodas ready for battle use; the next, rare Power Pips, or rare brews. The General knows his stuff, and his advanced years also grants him invaluable experience with the rest of Dolce. Perhaps he'll even let you in on the fact that he was once the Lawbringer of the Sugar Realm, and that he's retired to humble Dolce for the lovely scenery and the fresh feta in the spring.

Likes: Feta, Marching, Commerce

Hates: Sours, Paperwork, Office Politics

I've mostly been doing graphical pretties lately, and I'm going to start on some maps as well! Spectre's currently taking charge of the big stuff behind the scenes (systems, story, battles, all that goodness) so I'm moving to a more minor role at the moment. 

 

And yeahhhh as for cameos....you'll see if you're in it!

Hopefully it won't end up with 400 GB/XB/YB or whatever the notation is for a yotta-byte. Gotta take care of poor Knighty and his data plans, too.

 

In the meantime, we're in a bit of a pickle: I have plans to redesign Clem, since his dress looks relatively plain, but I have no idea what to change it to.

The following are a list of rough sketches for his new outfits. I'd like you guys to pick one of the three:

I like 1 or 2. I like the yellow ruffled scarf looking thing in number two but I love number one...so..hopefully that helps ^~^.

Well, I can say that Queen Cinnamon's battle is going to be legen- wait for it- dairy. But she won't be the hardest boss in the game (or at least, not in my opinion). ^^

I'll definitely add the raining cinnabon attack for her, though.

Dangggg son, i'm looking at these pictures and three things come into my head:

- You drew his face really well! It looks good!! The proportions look natural.

- i like his hair as well! Detailed.

- O yes, and i like variation number 2.

 

I swear we've all improved at how we draw. I really noticed that today. Then again... I guess how awful would it be if you (not you specifically) just didn't see any improvement at all after almost a year... Lol..... ( o _o)

Whipped up a map today for a little shop in the Dolce Sector called QTPie. You aren't actually able to buy clothes here...sorry...but if you noticed, it's quite empty inside. O_o And stuff is on clearance...hmee...why is the Dolce Sector so lonely looking in the commercial parts?

As for Clem, I like the first one as well~ I like the warm colors, I think~

 

And falling cinnamon bun bombs? YES, PLEASE! And sprinkle explosions! And freezing frosting! And...and...!!

Gotta love those palettes though. I just see a few colors and think #YOLO. Not very many other projects where you could do the same and get away with neon or incongruously bright colors.

 

Good news, Tsar and I have a map confirmed, and we'll have the full previews up soon (hopefully)! I've also made some breakthroughs in the battle system, and will release details of each and every playable class in-game (hint hint: characters can have more than one, so choose wisely!)

In the meantime, here's another portrait of two lovely people (good things always come in pairs, no?). If the Sugar Realm has a military, guess who trains them?
