Definitely adding the support bar to my siggy for this project. I'm excited to see where this thing goes~ And your art skills. Wow. I bow to superior artists. I still have to touch up Omri's portrait, but otherwise I'm very proud of the portrait work :3 EDIT: Speaking of artwork, if you remember my "secret" spoilered lineart from a while back, this is what it looks like today If you don't want to spoil it before it's finished, don't open! ^-^ So, I colored this on a different computer that seems to have different contrasts, so I was wondering: does this look like it has too much contrast? Or is it that my other artwork is too dull? I'm not sure how saturated/contrasted your guys' computers are. Tsarmina 2,612 Posted June 14, 2015 I'm sure you guys are wondering where we went, because after maybe a week of straight updates, I disappeared off the face of the earth. You see, I got an invitation to board a rocket ship to Mars, so I decided I probably wanted to go.... Just kidding. @_@ I had art camp tutoring, 4 semesters of summer classes, and a three-day seminar. Whew! Still working on those classes, but let's stay optimistic! I'm sure Spec is busy too, because I haven't heard much out of him lately. Looks like everyone is swamped in summer ^-^ For now, leaving you with one last update wip, which I'm not spoilering, because I was wondering if you guys had any tips on making flower textures? I wanted the pink scribbles to be cherry blossoms, just lots of them together, getting more sparse as you move upward. If no one has any tips, I can always try until I get it right. XD I would say we'll have a demo up soon, but that would totally be a lie! I'm trying to scrape up some time to work on this, though. I've had a lot of social commitments recently (hey, those organs aren't gonna sell themselves), so in the meantime, progress for Sugar Sweet has been relatively slow in terms of spriting. On the bright side though, combat is up (assuming I can ever get around to doing the 2.0s)! They're bad for you and I don't want to be held liable! :wacko: Sugar Sweet is a non-commercial game. I never plan to make a commercial game because I believe people should be able to enjoy this for free! We're still iffy on a release date for even the demo because there is just way too much to be done on this project. Amidst the ups and downs of life that pop up literally everywhere, I'm almost certain our release date would get pushed back further and futher. (_A_)" But still! I'm glad that you're pumped! I'm working on Restaff too, but hopefully I can use any portraits I'm doing as NPC's. (Heads up, guys: I'm SO PUMPED for this month's Restaff. It's going to be GLORIOUS!) Recently I was playing around with some fonts, and I'd like to get a second or third or eighth opinion on them. But I guess not ^w^ We've made a few small adjustments to the plot, and I'm still hacking away at those maps! Tsarmina 2,612 Posted June 30, 2015 I usually try not to update twice in one day Tsarie struggles but I can't help it~ It's the map I've been wishing for for a looong time~ The hallowed ground where it all started---! It's the landing ground for the Sugar Realm! Brie and Clem, fresh from the real world, find themselves in this bizarre candy-colored land. And here it is that those famous intro words are spoken. Fire away, Anise! Yep, THOSE lines! The clearing leads up to the Peppermint Forest (which, for some reason, has no peppermint, so I may change the name...). North of there are the rolling hills and sugar mills rhymes ftw, and north of there is--you guessed it--Dolce Sector central. <3 But since neither of those are completed yet, feast your eyes (no pun intended) on these happy foresty screenies. ^u^ Mmm. I also updated the OP with new screenies (and changed out the old screenies for up-to-date ones with the new font, Miso Soup), replaced Omri's bio with her new one (same text, touched-up portrait), and switched out some of those NPC faces (if you haven't seen the sheet yet, go look under Cast and scroll to the bottom. I have a whole batch of cookies sketches that I'm planning to make, as well as maybe a new title screen (my art has improved since the original one~) Here's one for you guys to put into your signature!
