playing ACE on Android is possible now :D YAY

Recommended Posts

:D So... do you guy know that we could play games made by ACE on Android now.

I was thinking that why Enterbrain doesn't support some function as Exporting Project to Android,

may be it's quite complex or something but nowaday smart phone is taking PC's place, playing RPG games on smart phone while lying on bed

is a sweet feeling, RPG ACE just don't perfect without exporting to Android function.

But then i found this:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.kernys.rgss

:D Cool! Now i can test my projects & others' demo while lying on bed before sleep time, yay

"Play your games created with RPG Maker XP on your Android."

Source: App Description

Yeah, um, have you tested it with Ace? If not, I wouldn't get too excited if I were you.

The question is, have you tested it?

Ace support is enabled, I suppose I'll thank you for that, but I've only been able to find one review saying it's laggy and doesn't have some features enabled.

Can anyone confirm this? I don't have any files on me at the moment.

I have tested this and this is TERRIBLE.

Why?

Does not support older phones with Android. They consume a lot of your memory, does not convert it in chunk and totally not recommended for use. If you use older Galaxy phones, you can open and install the game, but you can't really play it since it would turn off right away after you execute it. I'd say 100% that this is an Emulator that you should not use because it is not reliable.

For the others that don't trust me, try it yourself. Even a single demo is unplayable in the android.

Oh, i will tell it to the developer :P

And test it on my phone when i go home

That'd be great. :) Thanks for doing all of us a favor - BTW, I'm stuck in a military camp. Not a chance in hell I'll load the files from here.

I'm curious, how many people in your country are still using devices running on a version of android before 4.x?

For example, android tells us that there's "12% market share near the end of 2014" (http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-platform-stats-september-2014/). Of course, I didn't look at how the stats were obtained so maybe the proportion of the market with older versions are clustered in certain areas of the world.

I've been running on 2.3.3 until a few months ago, and don't really believe these old versions should be a priority. I try to develop for the lowest API whenever possible, but there are some things that just can't be helped.

I can't say a number since I have no proof of a statistic of how many, but there's a lot. Not all here uses the modern ones not unless they become low on price etc. The games made in Ace that are emulated by this emulator works good if it has a high memory, also, works best in XP. When you make a new project in Ace and emulate it there, it takes a lot of memory, let alone it has no script installed yet.

I wonder if this works by using OpenRGSS+JRuby+Java? I had a feeling that might be possible.
