Rezanta 373 Posted May 19, 2016 Fantasy is more my cup of tea, but anyway, great work Takeo
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 20, 2016 I personally prefer fantasy too - more the "old fantasy" style though. I have some WIP tiles made up. Auto tiles are fine - but making furniture is a toughy - especially if I want them consistent. Thankies for the response~ I'll try add some stuff this weekend ^^
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 22, 2016 It's been less than 72 hours, I apologize but this topic was on page 4 and I was hoping for some feedback on how this "style" so I apologize for the bump! Please don't hate meh ;-; Hey guys, I have a sort of feedback update~ I've been practicing textures (since I previously only used flat colours) so was hoping for opinions on this style~ It's not much, but would this style be good to work with? This is my first official wood texture attempt, so feedback on that would be nice. This is an A5 MV tilesheet so any suggestions on what to add would be good too~ I've ran out of floor ideas (wooden, tiled and linoleum) so any ideas? Note: Carpets are going to be done on auto tiles so I wouldn't really add them to this sheet.

+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 22, 2016 (edited) Haha, I'll see what I can do. I'm making a few walls just now, but I won't have any furniture for a long time, sorry. RTP would maybe blend with these though - not 100% sure on that though. I'll upload what I have soon~ EDIT Last preview until I release the pack~ Edited May 22, 2016 by Takeo212
Rikifive 3,411 Posted May 22, 2016 These are actually really nice! Wood texture and stairs look neat ~ I'm not sure how MV's RTP looks like, but they alone look absolutely fine to me. ^^ Well done and keep it up ~ you're doing great! =3
Rinoazelda 287 Posted May 22, 2016 Is this possible for Ace too?
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 22, 2016 It would be possible, but I'd have to redraw everything to suit the sizes of Ace - something I don't really feel like doing or have the time for just now. If you could find a way to resize the images, then sure - they can be used for ACE and other RPG Maker programs, but I personally won't be formatting them anytime soon, sorry. Update: Due to reasons, I'm taking a break for now. I've uploaded what I have so far (which isn't much) to the first page. Feedback and concept ideas are appreciated~
Rezanta 373 Posted May 22, 2016 I'll agree. This wood texture really shouts "I'm WOOD!" to me, so great work Takeo
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted June 8, 2016 BUMP I'm low on creative ideas, so I'm taking suggestions - not requests - for tiles to work on. Themes or items would be great feedback ^-^ I'm also practicing my pixel stuff. It's not the best, but any icons or sprite edits needed, I'm open to try if it's not to difficult. Please note, these are suggestions and not requests. I don't want to make commitments I can't stick to - yet.
lonequeso 1,921 Posted June 10, 2016 Do you know what I see very few of? Ships. It's really hard to find a tileset that allows you to make a (somewhat) custom naval ship. Probably fairly difficult to do, but it'll sure test yer skills Another is bowed bridges. Bridges that actually arc over water. ALso, elaborate steel bridges. I haven't seen too many of those around, but I also haven't really looked for any. Those are two unique ones. As far as standard tiles, what are you in the mood for? Nature, town exterior, town interior, dungeon, dark fantasy? Time Period/genre? Medieval, renaissance, sci fi, steam punk , prehistoric, etc. etc. Gimme a jumping off point, and I shall rain suggestions down upon you
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted June 10, 2016 Oooh. I think I need for practice before I attempt a boat to be honest. I'm still getting used to the "make tiles, put on sheet, hope the line up" sort of thing. I'm been making alot of auto tiles lately for practice, so piecing together a boat would be hard - but fun ^^ I'll give this an attempt Hmm, I have noticed alot of bridges are really straight, but due to the way RPG Maker handles movement, I don't think I could make an arc'd bridge that is actually walkable with an awkward input. I could make the bridge itself, but how you'd handle the movement across is I have no idea xD Hmm, I'm more interested in old fantasy stuff (wooden and cloth textures everywhere!) but I don't mind trying out different genres. if it's an uncommon item, a reference may be needed~ I'm trying to start small for now and with practice, hopefully make bigger, better tilesets!
lonequeso 1,921 Posted June 11, 2016 Yay! You're doing the boat! If had MV, that would have been half request, half suggestion. I needs me some more boat tiles for a port city. So old fantasy stuff. Lots of wood and fabric. Alright then. Shields. Not just various armor types; there's lots of those. Shields with family crests on them like the knights of old. Sword displays. MV's larger sprite size gives you some more freedom to make some intricate looking swords as well as other weapons. More ornate hilts. Cannons. A little more modern, but it's something I haven't seen much of. They'd be at least two tiles four if they're big. Catapults! Trebuchets! Ballistas! Fun siege weapons. Ballistas are my favorite. Essentially just a massive crossbow. For cloth: Curtains! Specifically those type. Don't forget to make the tattered ones for when Link slashes 'em with his sword. From above picture: That creepy ass bed. Dark fantasy beds adorned with dragons/demons/monsters. There plenty of typical bed tiles out there, but I suppose you can make some with some various textures, silk, wool, cotton, etc. I don't see a lot of four post beds. You can even have silk curtains surrounding the outside Portraits. ayane_chan (hope that's right) created some really awesome ones: I'm not sure if there's any for MV yet. *hint* *hint* She made a bunch of single tile ones, too. Counters. You can never have too many countertop styles. You could make lots of different wood textures. Plus Auto-Tile! You can even decorate 'em with cloth! Gates/fences The latter could also be for an autotile set. Gates and doors cuz we could always use more styles. Same for the generic stuff: Chairs, walls, floors, roofs, desks, bookshelves cabinets. THere's already lots of 'em, but they're pretty quick and easy to make, and would be prefect if you want to make a complete interior tileset. Vases. I haven't as much variation with these. Xoferew made some cool ones for Ace. Clothes. You like cloth right? Make some shirts, dresses, hats, boots, outfits, etc. It's another thing we could always use more of. There ya go! Something there's gotta pique your interest
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted November 4, 2016 @Lone: I lost my boat WIP stuff a while back due to a new PC so I had totally forgot about it >.< I saw Amysaurus had made one a while ago, but I may go back to it at some point for practice I suck at "contructing" tiles. I struggle getting all the pieces to stay together xD Also, I do have a chunk of edits to share, I just need to format everything correctly. I was considering working on a "bust generator" or sorts but this would be a slow progression. Thoughts? Apologies for the lack of content here. I've been making/editing alot of stuff for my game, and just haven#t gotten round to sharing anything yet Dx
Rikifive 3,411 Posted April 30, 2017 @@Takeo212, aww, all images broke. D: Due to that, I can't move it to the new section. Please, if possible, fix the images, so I'll be able to move it. Notify me when it will be done.
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 1, 2017 Oh poop. I'll fix that this week Riki. I've got alot of updating to do in this topic anyway xD Thanks for letting me know~
Rikifive 3,411 Posted May 1, 2017 Oh, no need to hurry, take your time. =) I was just worried, that the topic died. :
lonequeso 1,921 Posted May 1, 2017 @Takeo- That;s okay. I totally forgot about the boat. Yes, getting pieces to fit is a major pain. Yesterday I was having all sorts of trouble making a 3 tile long wind gust. Each section has a stepping animation so the whole thing moves together. I got it close to perfect, but there's a slight tiling issue. Such a pain... Still looks pretty cool though.
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 1, 2017 @lone: why not make a character sheet for it thats long enough? (126x32 basically for one sprite). I can try convert it for you if u like ;P Riki: I'll fix this topic on fri/sat since those are my days off from work In the meantime, suggestions are open~
lonequeso 1,921 Posted May 1, 2017 I did. Normally with characters you don't have to worry about tiling because they usually don't take up the full tile. In this case, the width does. It's close to seamless, but not perfect.
Cookie Ninja 374 Posted May 9, 2017 Am I the only one that can't see any of the PNGs?
+ Takeo212 1,079 Posted May 9, 2017 Nah Cookie. I deleted the source folder a bit ago and forgot to backup and fix the links was all. Riki pointed it out a few days ago. I'm off at the weekend, so I'll update this thread with more up-to-date content I'll even add in some bonus cameo cookie tiles, just for you ;P and maybe a WIP boat for Lone haha.
