Darthneko 7 Posted February 4, 2015 My first attempt at making items. Objects are based off of things found in World of Warcraft. All comment/feedback welcome! The originals, for reference:
SpookyMothman 361 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) Neat! These look good, Neko. Are you planning on doing entire tilesets? The only real problem I have is with the bed. I didn't know it was a bed at first, and the design looks more like dirt or something. Consider giving the bed's brown colors more saturation, to make them stand out more against the blue. Darthneko 7 Posted February 6, 2015 Thank you! I'm hoping to do a good number of items for a tileset - not everything, but enough that I can blend the pandaria themed items with some of the RTP and get it looking right. Ooh, and good note about the saturation. I'll bump that up!
Cr88tions 7 Posted February 15, 2015 The crate and the lamp are awesome! I assume we'll be seeing Panda shaped sprites at some point?
Ersatzteil 2 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) I love them. They're all really good! As an idea for improvement maybe you could darken a few pixels at the top of the crate to better show the symbol. It's not wrong or anything but I can already see a hint of it in your crate and just a little darker would really do it in my opinion. Great job any way you go! Oh and maybe a little shading at the bottom of the bed too so it's not so flat. Edited February 15, 2015 by Ersatzteil
Darthneko 7 Posted February 17, 2015 @Cr88tions - thank you! And LOL, yes - I'm still working on panda sprites. Started with a Mack base and trying to get something I'm satisfied with, but not there yet. @Ersatzteil - Thank you, and thank you for the advice - yes, I'll darken the top of the crate up a bit, and the bed needs more shading. Thanks!
+ Brackev 66 Posted February 26, 2015 (edited) Be careful with the sizes and the perspective. The crate may look off/floaty not using the blocky face-forward perspective that Ace uses. The pet bed will be massively big in game. Try importing the pictures into a game to give yourself an idea on how things will fit better. I love the wall hangings, pots, and the lamp. They look really good. Edited February 26, 2015 by Brackev
