My enemy designs

Recommended Posts

These are some enemy designs for my upcoming game: Kid Hop-o Rising Star

the enemy designs here include fire ant, grumpy seagull, king doombug, astrobot, darklord dimstar, darklord deadstar, and evil rat.

What do you guys think? (If you want to use any of them, just ask)

cr88tions, I've added all the current bosses I have so far to my original post.

I have all of the bosses planned (well most of them)

but these are the ones I have current battle designs for.

Nice.

What's the gem on the Doombugs head? Is it some kind of special attack? :P Looks pretty sweet.

And an odd question, Why have you gone for letters making up the Astrobot?

All looks good!

the gem on king doombugs head is his symbol of royalty, all the kings of doombugs have there own unique gem and other doombug kings you run into in the game have different gems.

and as for the letters, I don't really know, the robot was made by the astro force, which are a team that are full of themselves so I thought it fit.

I love the character these have! The bird and the rat in particular - great expressions. What program are you using? The only thing I'd say is that the outer lines could be cleaned up a little (it's most noticable on the rat, there's some thick spots along his back) but that's minor (and tedious) work with a 1px pencil.

to make these, I use a variety of programs. first I hand draw them on paper, second I scan them to a computer, third I put them in a program called toonboom studio (its an animation program, but It works really well at editing scans as well) and fix them up and color them, fourth and finally, I take the result, put it in paint, and then resize It to fit in rpg maker (probably the step that results in the thick spots)

also thanks, everyone loves the rat for some reason, but he was one of the easiest to make.....

They could use some shading to make them pop out a little more.  The light source is on the upper left for Ace sprites.
