The new challenges are now up, 
The first player that defeat the last boss of the Scarlet Devil Mansion will get $20 equivalent of steam wallet. 
The first player that defeat the last boss of Leazas Castle will get $10 equivalent of steam wallet. 


This version mainly: 
Updated plugins for MV versions 1.3.3 
Fixed a bug causing Damage over time effects to not do damage on the first hit 
TP no longer take damage/reduction into account for gains/losses 
You can see Mana Costs in Passive Learns Menu 
Boss Damage increased by ~20% 
All Difficulties nerfed by ~10% 
Added black lines on bosses HP to see when the next phase starts 
Added black lines on characters HP to see when you are low life : 
+50% Fade when high Life (>= 80%), -5 Threat Regeneration 
Nothing when Mid Life (>= 50 < 80) 
+50% Threat when low life (< 50), +5 Threat Regeneration 
Added black lines on characters MP to see how fast your Mana can regenerate 
Fixed a bug causing the last stage completed to give less rating than intended

Writer - Must have played at least Kichikuou Rance and have interest in the Rance world.
Playtester - Spelling mistakes, grammar, textchecks, skill balance.
 

Story:

 

*Knock* *Knock*
Rance: So noisy... Go away, go away. I'm not home.
Sill Plain: Do you want me to answer the door, Rance-sama?
Rance: Ignore it. If we ignore it, they'll just go away.
Sill Plain: Rance-sama, maybe it's the debt collector. We shouldn't ignore him.
Rance: If it's a debt collector right when were about to eat, i'll kill him.
Sill Plain: Ohh, too late... He's gone.
Rance: (That reminds me, l've reached the end of the money l earned in the liberation of Leazas. It's because l played around without working for a while.)
Sill Plain: Rance-sama, are you going to Mr. Keith and get work today? We won't be able to make a living anymore soon.
Rance: We can just sell some of the furniture lying around there again.
Sill Plain: But we sold everything that is valuable already...
Rance: Shut up. Money this, money that. Stop being so cheap.

Due to Rance being too annoyed by Keith, they decided to get some money by catching some shells until something happened that will change their lives forever.

 


 

Character Bios:

Rance:
A Selfish Brutal Warrior by nature. He is part of the Keith guild taking
various jobs when in need of gold. He has a slave named Sill Plain and
his ultimate wish is to make a heroic harem. He is capable of dealing huge
amount of damage as well as protecting her slave, Sill.

Sill Plain:
Sill is a slave bought by Rance. Even though the Obedience Magic is now gone,
she loyaly remains with Rance. She is capable of using Light magic in order
to damage her enemies or heal her friends.


 

 

Mostly focused on combat, Rance - The Brutal Legend will keep you on the edge with hard and smart boss battles.

 

- No redundant walking around, the game get straight to you through a visual novel/combat hybrid gameplay.

 

- Threat system will make most enemy abilities attack the target with the most Threat Points.

 

- Simple Skill system which let's you change what you want before each battle after the first stage is completed.

 

- Fast and direct combat with the possibility to end the turn early in order to stack up to 2 actions by default. Actions are used to unleash most abilities.

 

- Reaction Time Press when you are about to attack will make it a critical strike if you hit it at the right time.

 

- Mouse supported for all the buttons in the game.

 

- Change difficulty before each stage. The more difficult you put the fight, the more Rating Points you get at the end of each level. Rating Points are used to get experience and gold in order to progress in the game.

V2.33 is now upon us...

Tactical and Casual will now be able to press a button to stop/pass time.

Balance on some skills

Fixed glitches

Mass item drops on gauntlet event

 

The Challenge is still on! Streamers able to complete my game on hard or Tactical difficulty will receive $2 USD or 1x CS:GO Key. 9 streamers left can obtain the reward.

V2.34 is now upon us...

Sill can now choose between 3 elements(Elemental Damage, Elementalist class only) which are;

The Crowd Control of Frost

The Hasty Fire

The Critical Mass Lightning

New skills for Sill which can be chosen in specs or randomized.

Rance have new skills and a new starting spec; The Executioner

Mortal Strike; One Enemy, Inflicts Bleed, No Mana Cost, Cannot Miss, +Strength Buff, 175% Weapon Damage

Battle Shout; All allies, +12 TP gain per target affected, Grants +Knowledge/+Strength/+Agility Buffs

Calamity Strike; One Enemy, Needs 2x Strength buffs to be used, Extra attack if it's a Critical Strike, 600%+300% Weapon damage

Parry; +50% Chance to Counter, Absorb Damage equal of your TP + Strength Bonus

 

Mana Gain on Normal Attacks is now proportional to the damage dealt

 

Bugs found will as usual be fixed in the next version unless it's gamebreaking

V2.40 is now upon us...

Non magic users getting prosecuted is quite common in The kingdom of Zeth.

They go in jail for a crime they didn't commit.

Their homes often get destroyed.

Some of them even get turned into slavery.

With this, the Ice Flame has been created by Uruza, in order to make equality between Magic and Non Magic Users in Zeth.

 

New content:

 

Skill Planner system where you can choose the skills you want. The retired Skill Planner can give you successful skill builds that you can edit the way you like.

As Uruza's team, destroy the second core with multiples enemies and bosses on your way

 

The Black Lotus challenge has come to an end, 3 streamers has managed to complete it.

The new challenge is now on: $4USD or 2 CS:GO Keys to streamers that manage to destroy the Core in Hard difficulty. 5 Streamers will be able to get that reward.

Unfortunately, there was some now fixed bugs and his skills choices were not so good .
 
Though, he was aware of his first poor skills choices. He will retry soon with a build that will be hopefully even better than mine.

With the lag(http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/44852-weirdest-lag-issue-you-will-see-ever-need-help-fixing-it/) still there and MV coming out in 3 weeks, l will probably just release a laggy version and transfer my database to MV. It's just unfortunate that this lag fucked me over as soon as l was done. Oh well.

This version mainly changed the ATB system into a more fast paced one.
This is the last Ace version expect for bugfixes, Uruza story will also be back on MV since the actor sequence lag was even worse here.

Current v2.50 issues:
Actor sequences will lag over time(no one has managed to fix it yet)

The Core challenge has come to an end, 1 streamer has managed to complete it.

The new challenge is now on: $6USD or 3 CS:GO Keys to streamers that manage to kill Black Lotus in Hard difficulty with the new battle system. 2 more Streamers will be able to get that reward.

Hi there, nice title screen but may I recommend that you remove the drop shadow effect on the "World's End" text and change the font used on it (maybe even use the same font as the "Rance" title.

 

That would help in making the title screen look more professional. I do professional graphic design work so I hope you would consider my humble suggestion.

With V1.04 now out, I feel like there are very few bugs/balance issues left to work on. With that said, I will offer the first challenge right ahead.

With the V1.05 update, I decided to record my play through this time. Watch me play the whole game until l beat Black Lotus on difficulty 9 and unlock the secret boss.

With V1.07 now out, the Black Lotus challenge has come to an end, no one has managed to beat it or at least I didn't get any notifications of someone doing so.

 

New challenge:
$25 in steam gifts to the first 2 players that manage to beat the secret Boss
A rating of at least 250 is required to unlock it. (mostly gained by completing difficulty 9)

You must
-Record all the gameplay on Youtube
-Make sure you play V1.07 or above
-If 3 or more players are completing it on the same day, the rewards will be splitted as CS:GO Keys.

The second part of Rance - The Brutal Legend is now out.

Wait until the next version if you want to make sure to be bug free as I cannot catch them all on the first attempt.

The challenge will be up on the next version.

 

This version mainly:

Changed the way how the pace of the game is. You are now in combat the whole time. Get more rating/gold by completing the stages as fast as you can. Time passes by using the skill "End Turn".
New Content "Leazas Castle" with 5 new challenging bosses.

 

Current bugs:
Skill name is still shown on top when certain event occurs and disappear when player get back the control of the character.
Sometimes you'll get a certain amount of deaths when you actually have none.
Killing an enemy will sometimes make said enemy have a different death sound than what it should be.

A lot of content has been fixed and polished, skills got remade entirely.

 

V1.13 will be released with an appropriate challenge once my playthrough is over.

This version mainly:
Polished everything as much as possible
Changed how skill learning work, you can now spend skills points to upgrade skills and stats. You get 2 points at start and 1 point every 3 level.
You can now see which special skill an enemy has.
Bosses use the power bar to do full power skills while troops use it to power up every 2 turns.
Regain 20% HP/MP if using end turn while there are no enemies.
Calculation of XP is the same as gold gain and is multiplied by 50% for every added difficulty.
If defeated, you can retry at the same spot with full mana/HP but you lose half of your rating in the current stage.
You can see how many actions your characters has with status similar to how it works for enemies.
Nerfed Black Lotus life on first fight and the minions afterwards.
You can now upgrade Weapons and Armors with the shop, upgrading increases all it's stats by 10% and HP/MP by 50%.
You can now enchant Weapons and Armors with the shop, enchanting increases 1 to 2 random stats. Leveling Enchant also improves the results.

 

 

This is the last major update before part 3 is done, l just have to finalize the bosses/troops with the new method which shouldn't take that long.

I'm not comfortable giving a challenge without beating it first. Still have to wait a few days, though a lot of bugs have been fixed in this version. 

This version mainly: 
Added credits ingame 
Fixed a bug with third Stage 4th boss Red Stone Status that lasts on the next parts 
Increases Red Stone Damage 
Reduced HP of third Stage 5th boss last phase 
Buff ATK and nerfed HP of all enemies 
Nerfed Damage Dealt of all characters by ~25% 
Nerfed Penance and Siphon Life perks by increasing their Mana Multiplier and reducing the amount Healed 
You can now browse through your passives in combat, scrolling down in the commands will show the Passives Menu 
Cleared a lot of not used resources for ~-150 MB 
Difficulty now increases gradually less than before but the first difficulty is ~20% harder 
Fixed a bug making Execute perks not doing the right damage boost 
added Monitor Sync FPS Option 
Touhou Spellcards are now automatically casted at the beginning of each phase, most of them got nerfed by ~30% in return 
Smoother Move transition 
Fixed a bug causing the third stage to not return to World's Map upon Gameover

This version mainly: 
Removed MP/Normal attacks from the game entirely 
New UI for better visuals and less clicking 
Armor and Weapons are now together 
New equipment: Trinkets, equip them to multiply main stats 
Balance changes due to MP removal 
Having max action while ending the turn reduces your current Threat by 50% 

The challenge is now over, no one managed to complete it. 
The new challenge will be the new content that is coming soon on patch 1.30
