Phil-S 18 Posted May 20, 2015 Mabel is the beginning village in my game, while Mabel Road is a connection point between a mountain area to the west, a forest area to the south, and a road to the north. Note that events like monsters to battle, NPCs, treasure chests, and things of that nature have not been placed in Mabel Road, nor have any events been placed in Mabel. + TBWCS 953 Posted May 20, 2015 I think you have to improve utilizing the spaces on your map. The thing is that there are many spaces on your map that could have contained other map elements.
Phil-S 18 Posted May 20, 2015 Hi ã®æ³¨å…¥. Could you go into further explanation on what you mean?
+ TBWCS 953 Posted May 20, 2015 On Mabel Road, you could have placed flowers, logs, some other water tiles instead of filling it with trees. It made your map generic and as if it was done for whim. You can also try adding other things such as animals in it, some butterflies, and some other types of trees, for example.
+ Lanakainea 22 Posted May 20, 2015 should try to avoid straight lines when making rivers makes them looks odd i think this is much more of an improvement over the maps you had before. may want to change the size of the maps, they seem large with not a lot in them try reducing the size a bit also try avoiding making the town in a square lay out try adding farms that are fenced off try filling the outside part of the town with more trees and high grass
Phil-S 18 Posted May 20, 2015 Here's an updated version of Mabel: As for Mabel Road, I have to make it big enough since enemy encounters are done by walking into enemies (or them walking into the player), and that I don't have a world map. Instead, it's like Pokemon where areas are connected by routes. I made the stream more wild in its composition so it looks more natural. I'll share a redone screenshot shortly. I very much appreciate the help!
