game perspective idea?

Recommended Posts

I've started kind of toying with both Mode07 and parallax mapping, to simulate a sort of depth one might see in resident evil 1-3, with their pre-rendered backgrounds and what not. it's quite buggy and fairly frustrating, but if I were to complete such a thing, would anybody be interested in seeing it used in a game?

Simulating 3D is something i've always wanted more of in RPG maker, be it mode07 or FPLE. I will definitely post a screenshot or two here in a while, but i'd like to get the idea out there if anybody is interested or has any advice!

I was talking but it didn't record me, so that's probably better. My accent is balls.

Looks good but you need bigger characters so it'll match the map.

Yeah, I mentioned that in my commentary that didn't get recorded. This is just a test, anyway. Anything serious I do with this will probably be much more... polished? I guess.

That looks like a very nice idea! I would love to see maps like that in an RM game--even with the mock-up graphics, it looks exciting! If you can stand the aggravation, I'd totally play a game that featured it. :D

Wow, this looks great already! *Q* I love how smooth the perspective/zoom change is. I imagine it can't be easy to make this, but the result would be incredible stunning.

The maps themselves are pretty easy, but lining up events and collision can be a pain in the ass =p
