Okay, so I guess this is where we make out introductory posts. Interesting. My name is Timothy, I'm using RPG Maker VX Ace to make my first game that I call the Invasion, and I'm working out how to make original tilesets and sprites and battlers while making the game. It is rather time consuming as I can spend days just trying to get one scene to do what I want it to do. But it's fun and relaxing...for the most part. Any advice any would like to give, for instance pointing towards posts that deal with tileset and sprite creation even battler creation, by all means share it with me and thanks before hand for the help.  :P Glad to be here and looking forward to great things to come.

Ok. I have a demo of my first game up on mediafire right now. I would appreciate any comments on the game and how it can be improved. I'm anticipating being done within the next few years. The graphic assets are just there until I can design some new ones. I hope that it turns out well!

Pleased to be here =] For some reason the non rtp link won't go directly to the demo without first signing up for a free mediafire account. But the one with the rtp link will. Not sure why. I'm driving myself crazy trying to solve the issue. Oy. Anyhow, let me know what you think if you can get it downloaded.

HOLY BALLS! There is lots of reading. The library... So many reading and I lost all of my prizes by opening the book of transportation *Damn! =P* ~Didn't saved for a long time~

How long is this demo actually?  I spend so much time reading your stuff - I'm impressed by writing down the games you've beaten - If I would have to do something like that ~you would read that for days! =D

So far I managed to crash your game:

koZOUzO.png

That happened when I asked *priest?* for healing.

As for now I'm done with that, I have lots of work with my game. =P

Opinion?

- Lots of reading (examining nearly everything) , villages etc. full of stuff - that's good, that makes the game kinda *full*.

- Game/battle etc. system is very common ~ it could be changed to make your game a little *original*

- Battles are too easy - the first monsters couldn't even hit me, while I killed everybody in one hit. Perhaps it would be harder later, but I don't know. =P

Overall it's a very good game as for the first project ~ you can examine almost everything, the event cutscenes are really good, but this game is kinda messy =P

I liked: the sense of humor. =P

- pissing off Poseidon, by having dead-sea-stuff in house =P

- farting cow

- weird horse

- and of course the weird old man *or whatever he was called* =P

Yes, there is a lot going on with the game. I like to have goodies filling up the environment. It isn't necessary and know one need to really look at it but it does help flesh the world out some.  My intention is to fix all the scripting errors that have cropped up throughout what I have so far and I must stress that this is very, very early game design. I'm talking to my composer about original music, I'm designing new tilesets and character designs to really make the game stand out, and I'm working on a myriad of hidden secrets that the game will contain that I think will make it more enjoyable.

The priest is an issue I'm aware of and I just haven't gotten around to correcting it yet. I know what the problem is and why it's crashing. I just have been focusing on converting my script into a playable game for the main quest at this point. So save often.

The demo is as long as it takes to get to the second island. Lots of action going on there which is causing some slowdown. Gotta figure out how to get around that. It just kind of ends there and you can just meander about. Very incomplete but gives you an idea on where it's going.

The fighting mechanics I'm actually looking into. I don't like the generic combat but it will do for now as I flesh the game out. I intend on taking the better part of the next few years making it into a better game. I'm taking my time to make it work. But in the interim I'm looking for opinions and the like on what works and what doesn't

I do have a weird sense of humor and intend on having more of it showing up throughout the quest. I don't think it will be a hindrance but rather something that will keep the player interested.

The mysterious stranger and strange old man will play a crucial role later in the game.  And the game will get to look much better as it goes along =] I really am grateful that you took the time to play test it. Anything else you discover, think of, what to comment on, then by all means share it with me. I'm very open to advice.  Thanks again and over time I intend on updating the game as I get more done with it. It will remain generic up until near the game's completion so that I can concentrate on getting the mechanics straight.
