I like what you're getting at, but it still looks very rough.

I'm never judging by style, since I can't do that while not knowing anything about game etc.. It looks fine for me, but her legs look a little weird for me don't know why.

Havent used any blending tools yet to soften, but also never thought of that yet >.<

But my god, drawing with out lines is a pain.

i see why, the angle of her standing doesn't match the angle of the top portion of pants for the left leg. good thing this picture is still in 1000000 layers on my pc.

I'd be a little sparing with the blendy tools! Often times, using a blending tool to smooth out colors, rather than blending by hand can really make a drawing muddy.

im not gonna use it to blend the colors, that would ruin the style. i was just thinking about smoothing out the edges and out side of the drawing.

Id still say do that sort of thing manually with a brush or eraser tool. Especially with edges, you want them to "pop" with the depth of whatever their overlapping vs them blending in with them. But the best part about art is experimentation so try it out and see if you like with with the blend!

the eraser tool is gonna take so long with a mouse >.< one hand twitch and you have to ctrl + z to the last point you clicked (i click alot to prevent losing it all) to move even slower >.<

Got the hair smoothed out, not uploading a new pic till its all completely smooth and nice looking.

Oh snap! Didn't realize you were using a mouse to draw! That definitely changes things up quite a bit!

lol yea, the mouse makes it take a while. almost done with a clearer version, just need to shade all the right places on the shirt instead of randomly like in the one up there >.<

This one looks a lot smoother in my opinion. and the shirt shading isn't all over the place this time.

I kinda think it looks a bit too 'muddy' if you know what I mean. The lines look sort of imprecise, and the colors blend a bit too much. Maybe you should try using pixel art instead? I think the shading and maybe the prepositions would make a lot more sense that way. Heck even scaling the image down (with out filtering) looks like it makes the lines looks sharper to me.

I cant really tell if it looks muddy or not, colorblind op. the hair, the jacket and the pants pretty much look like one color to me. (best way to explain it to non colorblind people)

But i was thinking of scaling it down, but i need em big while i draw, unless it pixel by pixel sprites.

plus this was all done with out line art and a mouse, so it is going to be very imprecise for a while.

Do you have access to a scanner? If so you might actually benefit from a more traditional comic or illustrator route that man professionals to this day still use. Do everything in pencil/pen, scan it in and then add the color digitally.

i dont really wanna use any lines tho, starting with a blob of color is a lot more fun. and quick question, since one of my friends pointed it out, is the jacket purple or brown, he says its brown but i thought it was purple.

Well I mean the overall colors are pretty good to me actually, I just mean some of the devisions between colors looks a bit smudged, probably because of using the mouse as you said. I was just saying you might have better luck actually doing it pixel by pixel... line work with a mouse is hard! I actually find fiddling around with exact pixel placement much easier, if time consuming. But then again it helps to have a big base like this first, then scaling it down and retracing it pixel by pixel. On the other hand, pixel art that is too big becomes unmanageable fast.

Ill have it downsized and what not soon, work had made this hard for the next few weeks.

I also forgot what to call these since obviously this wont be the picture ill use when you see them talking. Concept art I think? horrible at terms.
