Music Loops & BGM Collection - Free Commercial Use

Recommended Posts

Everyone,

Please check out my newest, biggest music project ever! I'm working with Horizon's End Gaming on "THE GREAT GAIAS," an ambitious project that is sure to please RPG fans, especially fans of old-school Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and other franchises. It has excellent, original anime artwork, lovable characters and a great storyline.

Friends,

Here's an unconventional track. Minigames, starting towns, or really really excitable characters. It's not my usual fare, but maybe someone will use it.

(It was commissioned for a game, but apparently was not used. O.O)

Enjoy.

Dost thou have'th a date for demo of your game to come out at any point?

We'll have a page with plenty of screenshots and videos coming up soon, but we don't have a demo release as of yet.

Your dropbox link seems to be broken?

Thank you for letting me know! Not only do I *not* use Dropbox for public access anymore, I prefer MediaFire, because it seems to be more accessible. The link should work fine now. I'll update it with a file with more songs later this afternoon. Thanks!

The link to a bulk MP3 .zip file in the first post of this thread has been updated to include at least one form of every song available for download on my soundcloud page.

Here is a copy of the same link:

I'm sorry that Mediafire is a pain. I would use Dropbox more, but mine is almost full, and I'm too cheap to buy a subscription at the moment.

Who did the map in you sig?

Jared Blando, a talented cartographer/illustrator who is collaborating with Horizon's End Gaming on our project, The Great Gaias.

Interesting as I do need someone to do a map for me. I would do it but the last time i touched that software, I made a mess. So it's better to let a professional use it.

Why not just draw it on paper, scan it, and work on it there?

Also, Aaron, how do you make your songs? I'm thinking of getting into this kind of thing as well.

I use Apple's Logic Pro to write my music: http://www.apple.com/logicpro/

It has some really professional virtual instruments.

I pick the ones I want to use, and I draw the notes in a sequence.

It's a lot of fun!

Huh. Interesting. I'll have to look into this later. A lot later.

If it's the expense that's turning you away, try the free trial of Steinberg's Sequel 3, an equally powerful program that comes with lots of VST (virtual) instruments. The only downside to this application is that you cannot add your own instruments to the list. The free trial is really worth looking into. About 90% of my songs were made using Sequel.

Download the Trial Version here: http://www.steinberg.net/en/products/sequel/trial_version.html

When you say draw the notes in a sequence, do you mean you just click the notes or do you use some kind of instrument hooked up to your computer?

A lot of music notation software simply requires to click to make notes. Or you can click and drag to make an entire phrase, with programs like GarageBand. Music software does have the functionality of plugging in MIDI instruments to use in a sort of "Live Record" fashion, like in Finale. I don't know if Logic has this capability, but I know Finale does.

Clicking notes in a staff is usually better because it also teaches you properly about composition and what sounds good and what doesn't, rather than just playing the first thing that comes to your mind.

Interesting, I may play around with this program as learning new skills (especially those related to game making) is always fun. Music I have absolutely no skill in though, so we'll see how that goes.

I should have used "click and draw" to describe the way it works. Youtube has many helpful, instructional videos on how to use the software. It's a lot of fun, and Sequel is a good place to start, I think. It's where I began learning how to use strings.

Thanks, Aaron, I'm looking into this. But...1.8 gigs. This is gonna take a while. Oh well. One hour and 15 min to go.  :)

[EDIT: What's up with this program? I'm trying to figure things out, but it does something to my sound.]

It's like a total of 7 GBs. X.X

What do you mean it's doing something to your sound?

It seems to cut out the sound whenever I turn on the program. Am I just an idiot, and don't know anything about this program. I prefer to think not. Looked up tutorials, but I'm still not getting it. I'll keep trying for 30 days, until my trial ends.

Here's a remastered track from a few years ago that was a direct "sequel" to "148 - The Brother I Never Had." It's a little angsty, but I think it can be used in a sweet romantic scene or for a lonely character theme.

313 - Bittersweet Affection

As always, you do not have to ask me for permission to use this track in a commercial project! Use it however you like. I ask that you credit the composer as Aaron Krogh.

Thanks, everyone!
