The Crow and the Behemoth RP (OOC)

Recommended Posts

I have decided to move my Chain of reformation RP forum to a dedicated site, so admins will delete the current premium forum pretty soon. Instead, I decided to just open up various threads in the roleplaying sections of multiple forums all set in the same universe. So, here it is!

The Chain of Reformation world is a Fantasy/steam-punk setting. Their are no electronics, but mechanical things like trains, blunderbusts, clockworks and anything else that you can imagine in a steam-punk setting are allowed. At the same time, there are fantastic beasts, magic and artifacts.

The Lore for the thread; up to this point:

The world of Agmar is an old and varied place. Many creatures and places inhabit it. In its center lies Tykron; a place wrought with conflict.

It is the 111th year of the 19th era, which started after the great hero Orisius gave his life to slay the Dragonsoul, saving Agmar from destruction. For over a hundred years, war has been set aside between the three world powers: Tzusisaron, Redigra, and Tykron, the richest of them all.

While northern Tykron flourishes, the south-edgelands flounder in economic depression. The rich government celebrates their extravagant way of life and the southerners are barely able to feed themselves, lacking basic infrastructure such as military protection, electricity, railroads, and opportunity. Queen Silthran, beloved by the northerners, continues to tax and oppress the edgelanders as if they were not in financial peril.

In stepped the Chain of Reformation, or known simply as the Chain guild. The guild began offering the people jobs, charity, protection from the barbarians of the Heathen States, and other basic needs the government simply did not care to provide. But with it, came a growing dissatisfaction with the Queen and her regime. Slowly they caught the Queens attention, and the government realized, the Chain of Reformation was unknowingly bringing a more radical reformation than was advertised. But finally, not but a year ago, Ultimas the master and founder of the Guild disappeared. the mysterious man, with no known record or history, vanished as quickly as he came. The Chain guild would rebuild, but it's not as powerful as it was.

Auras'ton is a major town near Tykron's southern border, in the northern edge of the Everwood, a forest that extends deep into the unexplored south, controlled by the heathen states. the town is home to an estimated 50,000 people. Built up the side of the great cliffs and out unto the sea, it's beauty and inventiveness is marred by poverty, which covers this town like any other in the Edgelands. but one place, called the Uplands Village, is an oasis for the rich, a resort showcasing the beauty of the everwood.

Then came the Crows Army, a band of thieves who steal from the very rich who have made the Uplands village their home. They are lead by an Anonymous person simply known as 'the Crow'. Three features mark a member of the Crows army, a black cloak that conceals their identity, a knife in the shape of a feather, and that they are never cornered or caught, at any and all costs...

The military and the constables completely sealed off Auras'ton. No-one could go in or get out without official permission. Then it happened... One night, the people of Auras'ton and surrounding villages for miles heard an ear-piercing screech. The next morning, the Uplands Village was completely flattened, raized to the ground. No survivors. No one knows what happened, but the superstitious are calling it the awakening of the Behemoth. Legends say it was worshiped by the heathens long ago, and that it could summon blizzards, burn forests to the ground, and slay whole armies.

I'll post some races here you guys can RP as or draw ideas from, but for the most part you are allowed to come up with your own. Before you post in the thread, post a character app here to introduce your character.

I thought of three races for the RP aside from Humans:

Orcs

Orcs are lanky, green-skinned ape-like creatures. They have short legs and long arms, and their bottom-jaw hangs low on their skull. They have three stomach prisms and a craw, meaning they only need to eat once a day. Meals are very important in the Orcs war-like culture, being a time of emphasized family importance. Orcs come from the Or'cach peninsula, which is east of the everwood.

Nymphs

Nymphs are very Human-like in appearance, with the exception of their Nymph-vines, a creature that all Nymphs share a symbiotic relationship with their whole lives. Because of their vines, Nymphs have a very fair complexion and brightly colored eyes of purple, gold, green, or blue. In the north, they are considered quite lovely for this, though edgelanders do not share this opinion very often for the Nymphs visible root systems that grow beneath their skin. Nymphs vines have retractable thorns which uncurl when the Nymph becomes angry, giving them a natural weapon as most other races are allergic to their vines. This also means their organs and blood is incompatible with other races, even humans with whom they share an almost exact build. Nymphs are native to north-eastern portions of Tykron, being one of the most common creature to inhabit it.

And finally the Forestrians

Forestrians, or the Than'Zuud as they call themselves, are a humanoid race native to the everwood and the original founders of Auras'ton. Forestrians are known for their vibrant burgundy skin and ruddy, curly hair. Forestrians gain an extra hormone during puberty that make them exaggeratedly bulky and strong. Their culture favors hunting and strong, vertical lines in architecture.

Ya'know, anybody can create almost any race (just as long as it would make sense in the world. EG: don't create aliens or living candy, etc.) and create the lore for that race. You're allowed to roleplay as a race of your own design.

I would imagine hybrids not to be impossible, maybe not half-orcs as much as half-forestrian or half-nymph, but it's really up to you.

okay then...

Name: Alistair

Race: Hybrid (Werewolf - Vampire)

History: Alistair, born from the City on the West border, her father, the vicious werewolf Al-main and her mother Carmilla were killed when she was young, her parents were slain because they broke the sacred rule, and because of that she became an outcast at a young age. For years she wanders around the city until she heard about a guild known as the chain guild, she decided to go to Tykron to find that said guild.

Weaknesses:She trusts and helps everyone around which makes her easily to use.

Skills: Due to her Werewolf/Vampire blood, she is immune to sunlight and she can transform into a wolf in nighttime.

note #1:I'm going to edit this if I got some more info to add on.

-Edit-

note #2: Alistair's name is pronounced as "Alister".

note #3: Alistair usually carries a dagger behind her, which is covered by her cloak.

Name: Chu

Race: Water Sprite

History: Chu the Alchemist is a potbellied individual who lived near a village of his kind in a river meadow in the forest next to Uplands Village. Like most of his race, Chu had little knowledge of current events, and was not aware of Crow's Army or the quarantine on the town. However, this soon changed when Uplands Village was razed. He, like everyone else in the area, heard the screech and saw what happened. He no longer felt safe living so close to the site of the destruction, and attempted to move Auras'ton. However, he could not move into the town, due to the quarantine. Chu currently lives near a river, fishing and selling brews to passerby. He is around forty years of age as of the current events.

Weaknesses: Doesn't quite grasp the basic principles of decency, such as clothing, privacy, etc. due to not being exposed to more 'civilized' species. Also, Chu is a heavy drinker.

Skills: Chu is a skilled alchemist, and can use basic nature (mostly water based) magic.

He is pictured below. (yes I drew this, nobody else. All rights reserved and all that good stuff)

Hey, I've already started roleplaying. There's an IC page already up, in case you didn't know. I know Lazzamore, and we both know that it's started up.

Feel free to join in! :)

Name: Malik

Race: Half human half Forestian

History: Malik was born to a human woman, Illia. His Forestrian father, Agnar, was a lousy drunk who constantly belittled him. At the age of 15, 106th year of the 19th era, he left his home to escape his Father's increasing wrath towards him. His father seemed to get worse and worse after his mother fell to sickness. He took to a life on the streets where he learned how to survive by any means necessary. At 16 a nice human lady, Ana, took him into her house and taught him Alchemy. He had a wonderful few years stay with her before she recently passed away. Now he is lost and alone with the passing of the only person who showed an interest in this aloof sneaky miscreant. Her last gift to him was a pair of hand crafted daggers made by a local blacksmith. The oddly curved blades (Kerambit) were made out of matching ivory handles and damascus steel were her gift to him after he got jumped by a couple would be thugs on the way to pick up some alchemy ingredients for her.

Weaknesses: Low self esteem, and tends to be overly paranoid.

Skills: Handy with alchemy, his trusty daggers, and traps.

[Half asleep at the moment, so if something doesn't quite fit with the world let me know and I'll make an edit.]

Why are there only two of us doing this RP right now???

Sorry that I have been off this week, I have been preoccupied.

I really have no answer why only two people are in the roleplay, I knew putting a RP here would be a risk, due to the seeming lack of an appetite for it here, but I thought we were doing quite well. But now that I have time, I plan to shake things up.

Anyways, first I need to know some things: Where is Alistairs hideout? Is it outside the town? If so, how does she get in and out of town with the quarantine? I need to know the dynamic and lay-out because I plan to have them institute a role-call.

Well.. Here's my summary about your questions...

Alistair's hideout is... well outside, but there's a hole in the wall which people doesn't notice because it's covered with barrels. It's quite an easy way in and out, so the people in the town thinks that Alistair is a common person in the town.

At day, He hides out in Hallow Tree, a giant tree in the middle of a forest.

Weaknesses: Scranos hates light

Skills: Flight.....being annoying

Name: Risaka

Race: Human, possibly half something else (never knew her father)

Now 19, Risaka is off to find something to give her life meaning.

Weaknesses: Impatience, anxiety, and uncertainty.

Skills: Magic, conjuration, and two-handed weapons. Average alchemy skills.
