dipping dots 68 Posted August 8, 2015 I did notice you're allowed to choose what you want to be on the Pause menu. So you can get rid of Formations or Items or whatever you want. That's pretty neat. I think I'll give in to the hype.
FranklinX 78 Posted August 9, 2015 I'm glad the graphical style is still the same. I'm going to buy it to use the RTP battlers and sprites in my VX ACE project. I put too much into my game to restart from the beginning.
+ Novem 344 Posted August 9, 2015 I'm not sure if that's going to be possible, all of the resources are of a much higher resolution in MV, right? You can't simply directly import them back unless you resize. I'm also guessing that because of that higher resolution, the image would be sharper and thus clash with VX Ace's resources. I could be wrong of course.

Yes, but not the tile sizes. well if its only the characters there will be no problem.
+ TBWCS 953 Posted August 9, 2015 You can parallax them.
+ Novem 344 Posted August 9, 2015 The maximum size you can resize Ace to is 640x480, I'm fairly confident that by "high resolution" they mean at least 720p, if not 1080.
Girl Lover 23 Posted August 9, 2015 You can resize The screen as what you want through scripts... You can use RMMV Charsets in RMVX Ace By Putting $ before the charsets name... You can use tilesets through Parallax Mapping... Scripts Are not comptable with RMMV because its not use ruby it is based on javaScripts But I dont know if we can use Rmvx ace Resource in RMMV... + Novem 344 Posted August 9, 2015 640x480 is the limit imposed by the engine if I remember correctly. I don't remember there being a script that could take it any further, though I guess I've been out of the game a while.

Arrpeegeemaker 136 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) *Is in awe* Scripters are like alchemists to me. (FMA alchemists) lol I hope MV took a lot of feedback from actual communities like this one to implement ideas that could make the core scripts better. I don't have beef with the base scripts, although I applaud people like Yanfly and Yami, and Soulpour777 here who are able to fashion engines on top of the core/core engines of their own. If I could script, you'd want to put a handicap sign on my scripts, as well as a 'novice driver' sign lol But yeah, I really hope MV took a lot of what people in the communities did to raise the 'default bar' for their games. Although I think the limits on default scripts helps people like myself actually try to learn instead of wanting everything done for me. It's how I got really good at eventing. I remember when Yanfly said there would be no Ace demo because people were using the old ones as more of a way to skip the learning process, instead of going through the scripts and learning themselves. Yanfly makes it extremely easy in the comment tags to understand what's going on, too. It did make me learn a lot more about scripting then I ever knew before, but only by going through them. Anyway, I really hope MV reflects, in the very least, the things most desired in the community. Which it seems to at least have done so far, with cross-platform/default sbs-frontview/larger resolutions, the database limits, etc. I'm excited ^^ Edited August 9, 2015 by Arrpeegeemaker

Because if it can be changed, we might already seen games made in Ace with HD Graphics out there. it might be hard to use the 48x48 resources inside a 32x32 CB. + TBWCS 953 Posted August 9, 2015 What if you can? I've seen those parts of collision or you can actually make a custom collider. In my game Concealing the Oblivion, it was locked under a small collision, but you can actually change it to 100 x 100 pixel collision. In my WIP game right now, I can expand to 48 x 48, 50 x 50, 100 x 100, you name it. There's no HD Ace game because no one has the time to do it or just the proper resource to do it. But as for the collision there's really nothing impossible as long as you script it.

Girl Lover 23 Posted August 9, 2015 @Arrpeegeemaker. for 3d games you need to spend a lot of money not only in script but you have to make your own 3d models and also assets for it.For online games you also have to spend more than 1000$$$ on script not only that you have to make servers for your online game to make a server online you need a working PC open 24/7 and also a working internet connections so it cost more than 10000 $$$ as for HD and uhd game u have to use resources. Tarq 746 Posted August 9, 2015 every thing is possible in rmvx ace when the alchemist are alive...like galv soulpour yanfly thisukime rikifive and I forgot something oh yah me When was the last time you saw Galv or YF release a public script? If you knew much about scripting yourself you'd recognise the difference between a script made by Hime and the snippets by Riki; as much in how their wrote as well as the scope of their aims. I'm guessing you got his name from just looking at the recent posts in the Ruby forums? As for your ~'online scripts = $1000' nonsense, man, I dont even know where to start. Anyways, MV. Yeah, its alright. Honestly, I don't see much reason to convert. VXA has superceded its limitations more than any of its predecessors, and most of what is on offer for MV is already well within public means. I guess maybe it'll prove the most all-inclusive engine so far, but I'm not seeing anything I'd consider a new development other than the better resolution (which has seemed to be receiving negative scrutiny last time I was over at RMWeb).
Rikifive 3,411 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) every thing is possible in rmvx ace when the alchemist are alive...like galv soulpour yanfly thisukime rikifive and I forgot something oh yah me Did I miss something? xD Just to clarify, because I don't deserve that: Yup, as Tarq stated, I'm just doing some silly improvements and basic things, The rest of people mentioned here are doing much 'bigger' and 'serious' things. How did I got there. =P xD xD xD ---------------------------------- As for me I simply don't see any wonderful things in that new RM, that would be worth paying so much money on, considering that it's like ~4 times more expensive for me, because of different currency. Girl Lover 23 Posted August 9, 2015 okay I just saw Riki post in the forums as for the cost of online games its much than 1000$ because as I say it can only done when you have a PC and a super fast Internet connection working 24/7 and also you need your own scripter for writing script which really cost too much because it script contains 1000 of lines and too much effort on it.
