"By the looks of their appearance, they're Forestians." Alistair said, "And who you might be?" she asked the girl.

Ichi stared bewildered at the wound that was not there. "How did you do that?..." he said, still staring at the clean spot in the shape of a gash.

"My name's Risaka." She turned to the yokai. "I used a simple restoration spell on your wound. It still may be scarred, but it shouldn't hurt anymore." Turning to the others, she said, "And who are all of you?"

"My name is Alistair, A hybrid of a vampire and a werewolf. And this is Chu, A river sprite." Alistair answered.

Chu smiled awkwardly. He hadn't said anything up to this point. "Nice to meet you, Dry." He said. "I notice you know magic." He paused, his smile fading. "Do you know alchemy, too?"

"Not much," she said to the water sprite. "Just the basics."

((Just so we're clear, we're all outside the town now, I'm assuming Risaka used the secret exit that Alistair used.))

 

"Ooh, How could I ever repay you?" Ichi said rather inwardly to Risaka. "You saved my life!" Still staring at Risaka, something visibly occured to Ichi, and he got up and went to the hut. He came out again holding an old rag in one hand. "here, this is the rag Ni used." He handed it to Alistair.

"hmm.." Alistair sniffed the rag Ichi gave her. "It looks like her scent is coming from..." Alistair said as she looked at the City, "Inside the town." She added.

Chu looked at Alistair. "Where in the town, exactly?"

Ichi seemed confused. "How'd Ni get inside? They've not let people in for weeks!" he said "Do any of you know how to get in?"

"There's a secret way in. She probably went in there." Chu said.

"He's right, there's a secret way in the city, and its in my hideout." Alistair said. "But wait... when we went there, I did noticed that the barrels were not in place.." she added as she remembered the barrels, "I'm sure I covered it when I went to wander at the city."

"Oh, the hut who guys were in at the wall? Okay, lets go!" Before the party got to the hideout, the sun set and and a glistening, orange harvest moon rose. Normally for the people of Auras'ton, this would mean the coming of a new crop into the city. But with the quarantine, their would be no shipments entering or exiting. But soon, in the dark, you were before the wall and the hideout.

Chu was the first to reach the entrance. He stopped and looked at the scene in front of him. The barrels were still out of place. He wondered if anybody had seen them.

Alistair went into her hideout but before she stepped in, she smelled an unknown scent. "Guys.. We've got company." her eye turned red and her nails became like a wolf's claws. "Show yourself!" She said in a fierce tone.

Risaka held her right hand at the level of her shoulder, her left in her pocket, ready to draw her knife at the first sign of movement.

In the darkness, there moved a lone shadow. Out from behind the furnishings came a small form; a child. the boy, who seemed to be a human, Inched forward, fear in his eyes. His clothes were expensive, but surprisingly dirty. He smelled as though he hadn't bathed in days. He was pale and thin. "Are you gonna kill me?"

Alistair's eyes turned back to her original color as she saw a young boy, she reverted her nails back to normal. "What are you doing here young child." She said in a calm voice.

"I, I don't know where my parents are. It's- it's gone!" Tears welled up in his eyes. He shut his eyes, raising his fists to his lips. "It's all just gone! the village- my home-! ...Please help me! I don't know where my parents are!" He was frantic at this point, clearly afraid and very distraught. "We were going for a walk in the woods- we heard a loud noise and it when we got back the whole village was all just gone!" he continued voluntarily, almost sobbing "We got chased in the woods last night, Mommy and daddy told me to run and get to Auras'ton, and now I lost them too!" he wept aloud.

"Calm down now young child... Don't cry now." Alistair said in a sincere voice, calming the young boy, she hugged the boy to comfort him. "I'll take care of you." She said.

'What's your name?" Risaka said.

"I'm Daniel, Daniel Cosborn." he spoke with a northern accent. Upon inspection, he seemed somewhere between 8 and 10 in age. His garb, though expensive, was obviously designed for hiking.

Chu smiled. "He must be from uplands village. The good spirits of the water have had mercy on him. He's probably the only survivor." He approached the boy, taking out and smelling a flask. "Here, drink this. It will calm you down." He said to the boy.

Without taking the potion, Daniel shouted at Chu "No! My parents are alive! I need to find them!" Daniel seemed even more frantic now, exiting embrace with Alistair. Ichi seemed mildly upset "You guys should go help Daniel." he said "I'll find Ni in the city myself."

"Are you sure?" Alistair said to Ichi. "I hope you'll be safe on your search." she added.
