The other thing I can think of is to put both characters in bed and make it look kinda like in the Sims. -- put some SE and animate the bed to make quilt move and that will be enough.

1 - your game is not simulation game

2 - there is no mission like sex in your game like god of war and gta

Okay yes, as many others said, the industry has proven that. 

My only advice/opinion/suggestion w/e is to make sure that the "sex" in whatever context it may be, is somehow both relative and appealing within the game setting/story that you have. Since it's one of the most common and has already been mentioned, Mass Effect for example has sex as part of character development and relationship progression with your teammates. It's interesting and provides incentive for the player. 

I think as long as you can answer 3 basic questions for it:
1.How is it relevant to the game?
2.Is this going to be interesting to the player?
3.What is the incentive for obtaining said goal?

Then go for it

Well, it would be kinda like Castlevania 2, where you have to find all the pieces of Dracula in order to resurrect him, so you can kill him (never did understand that, but anyway).

On a more serious note, there really doesn't have to be sex at all for a game to still maintain intimacy.  Lately all they've been doing is Record of Agarest Garbage and Hyperdimenion Seriously That's The Name You're Going With, but previously Red Company had made an amazing game I still enjoy playing called Thousand Arms.  The premise is you're a spirit blacksmith and in order to forge and refine more and more impressive weapons with awesome abilities, you go on dates with girls in your party.  Yeah, it's a strange premise, but it's a very fun game and all the dialogue was thought out rather well.  Plus the actual game part of it is really fun, too.

Let's put it this way. This is a forum that's designed for people ages 13 and up. This is another reason I'm careful (though not too careful) about some of the content I put up, which if you know me personally, is a serious effort. That said, this is a topic directly dealing with the idea of having sex in a videogame, what it means, how it works, what works and what doesn't, how to implement, etc. I don't really think we're going too terribly far beyond raunchy jokes here and there.

 

I could go too far and start really describing a lot of stuff, but I won't. It's not necessary and doesn't add to the topic, anyway. If there's anyone under 13 in the thread, oh well. I believe there's something somewhere that says 1) this is a site meant for peeps over 13 and 2) that you have to be at least 13 to register. It's just like porn sites that say you can only enter if you're 18 or have you enter your birthday before getting in. Anyone can get around that, so if they do, sorry, we tried.

Responding to the original post, I think it should be suggested and implied that it happened without actually ever showing anything.

Or show just something to give the player a hint.

e.g. - character approaching the other's room, the other is waiting there as the character stops before slowly approaching them while the camera fades to black.

That's seriously enough, that's all you need to imply 'something' happened.

If it so happens that your potential player isn't mature enough for your game, they might not even understand what actually happened.

 

 

It's a good turning point to use for romance in a story, however here's some important things to make note of.

Make a Disclaimer on both the page you publish your game and in the introduction of your game(Might I recommend before you can even access the title screen).

DO NOT have text describing what's going on.

DO NOT shove it into the player's faces.

IF you have a graphic scene, allow players to SKIP the scene.

Realistically speaking the love interest in your game does not need to be the prettiest thing in the world.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Now, @gunsage, in my experience the way rules with forums usually work is you can create an

account and operate the forum with parental guidance at the earliest age of 13.

I've seen a couple posts about letting the player choose to skip the scene. That's really the best way to go about it if you're going to put sex or anything you feel is too graphic for younger players. You should also have a disclaimer stating there's mature content before the game is even played. That's really all you can do. At the very least, you're covered from a liability standpoint. I'm not some slick big city lawyer or nothin', but in this day and age you can sue someone for just about anything and win.

If putting a disclaimer and/or letting players skip scenes isn't enough to make you feel comfortable with adding mature content from a moral standpoint, don't put it in your game.

Ya, no.  Zeeby fo sheezy.  Honestly, this reminds me of an idea I had for an RPG where you got XP by having sex with random chicas.  With that idea, it really was about going all out and trying techniques that...well...that I know work. Suffice to say, I decided on not making it because I figured it'd be too much.  I don't know, I might still make it just to amuse myself.
