devonair320 6 Posted August 20, 2015 (edited) Holy Refrain Abstract: In a world torn apart by a war on Witches, three soldiers must seek the heart of all magic against all odds, and find the truth of "good" and "evil". Genre: RPG, Fantasy Game Progression: Writing -- 100% Characters -- 100% Mechanics -- 40% Cutscenes -- 33% Database -- 40% Recruitment: Not currently seeking. Story / Setting / Purpose: For centuries, there has been a veritable cold war between two military academies: Surrindohr Academy of Eridell, and Orburn Academy of Tergeron. Enter three soldiers of Surrindohr -- Hikari, Demi, and Ruslan -- who are training to continue the grand purpose of these two academies: to kill Witches. Witches are an unexplained phenomenon: females with the inherent ability to use magic without the study of ancient text, but at a horrible price -- over time, their magic drives them insane, and often into a murderous rampage. Only the soldiers of Surrindohr and Orburn are qualified to hunt Witches and protect the world as a whole, but when the trio encounters a Witch for the first time, everything changes... Experience a story of morality, friendship, and love; life and death; and what it means to think for yourself. Character Bios: (in order of appearance)(party members only) Hikari A young and optimistic girl never cut out to be a soldier, who believes in love and hope above all else. However, after experiencing a mysterious dream, her training is the least of her problems. Demi A prodigy of a soldier, the gunner is determined and fiercely loyal to those she places her trust in. However, her imminent journey soon tests that trust, and makes her question all she thought she knew. Ruslan A stoic and logical warrior, he often appears to be entirely emotionless, even to those close to him. However, how much strife can a person go through before they can no longer go on? Beatrice (Optional)An energetic and short-sighted baker/monk bound for fame who joins the trio in the hopes of advertising her catering business. Pravus A cunning and arrogant technician, he has made his riches by selling his weaponry to Orburn Academy and practically holds them in the palm of his hand. At times he is passionate, and other times narcissistic, but can he be trusted? Elina First seen as a sharp-tongued thief, the archer holds an undying hatred for magic in all its forms -- yet what story lies behind that hatred, and those strange eyes? Selene A strong and beautiful dragoon, she values justice and endeavors to spread peace throughout the world. However, surrounded by injustice, how can her voice be heard? Cella A calm and studious mage, she observes the world around her and keeps her secrets with quiet vigilance. However, there is only so much injustice she can sit through in silence. Edward (or "Beau") Nicknamed "Beau" for his way with the ladies, he is a thief of the highest degree, who masks his true desires with a sideways grin. Yet what drives his high-stakes wanderlust? Aysel The "Ice Queen" warrior of Orburn, she is stationed in Lornesse to hunt after a particular thief, yet has long had doubts of her true purpose in life.
