It had to do w/ the animated battler script. I've battled all the scorpions and slimes. You can walk on flowers to get up on an otherwise unreachable ledge. For some reason it was only crashing on the updated battlers. so I created an all new Rat battler to replace the shrooms and it never crashed for me.
