gunsage 161 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) So I realized I have like 60+ games that I categorized as horror or horror themed in my Steam library and that got me thinking...I haven't done ANY twitch in a while (I was actually still working on my Mother 3 playthrough off and on), so why not have something special for the whole month of October? And then I thought hey, wouldn't it be fun if I got the whole community behind it? I'm in the process of installing about 30 or so games that I can select from and intend to twitch for at least an hour a night throughout all October, probably doing a new game each night, even if it's only a one-off. Still, that's my situation. I really only have about an hour or so I can allocate each night, with the exception of my days off, mostly because I have to wake up early on days that I work. What I was wondering is if everyone else wanted to try this? We can post links to each others' twitch accounts, update with what we're playing, etc. This will also help us all get more press, views, and even highlight horror games we might otherwise not have thought of. And that ALSO got me thinking...there are a fair amount of awesome horror games on RPG Maker (The Longing Ribbon, The Witch's House, etc.), so why not highlight some of those as well? It doesn't have to be entirely RPG Maker, but I love finding new kickass RPG Maker games. Anyway, this doesn't have to start until October, but I was wondering what you guys thought about it. I'll be following and updating this topic just in case. Edit: My username on twitch is gunsage13. I don't have any content on there right now because it's already cycled through, but you can check out archived stuff on my youtube account, which is just gunsage. This isn't a contest, but if you'd like to participate, let's all throw out our usernames now so we can follow each other! + Chaosian 617 Posted September 11, 2015 I forsee a bit of a mess of so many people streaming, and not many viewers, but I have to say that I like this idea. Depends a fair bit on what you call horror though. I've been meaning to play through Dead Space 3 again, and I wouldn't call anything in that franchise really.. "horror"... gunsage 161 Posted September 12, 2015 Well, the original Dead Space was basically Resident Evil 4 in space. It had its moments, but yeah. Dead Space 2 on the other hand...I really liked that one. Here's what I'm currently installing... Whispering Willows Blackwell Convergence Blackwell Deception The Bridge Chronicles of Mystery - Scorpio Ritual Spec Ops - The Line DmC Killer is Dead Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (I'll do a Freddy Kruger playthrough as a sort of Wes Cravens homage) Dead Space 1 and 2 F.3.A.R. Darksiders 1 and 2 Dead Island Doom 3 Deadlight Dead Island Riptide Dead Island Epidemic Castlevania - Lords of Shadow Amnesia - A Machine for Pigs (I could reinstall the original as well) Killing Floor The Last Express Left 4 Dead 2 Legacy of Kain - Defiance Lucius Metro 2033 Metro Last Light NecroVisioN NecroVisioN - Lost Company Nosgoth Outlast Painkiller - Black Edition Painkiller Overdose Painkiller - Resurrection Painkiller - Redemption Painkiller Hell & Damnation Realms of the Haunting Binding of Isaac Blood 1 and 2 Call of Cthulhu - Dark Corners of the Earth Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition Dead Pixels Decay The Mare Five Nights at Freddy's The Hat Man Shadow Ward HeXen Home Hotline Miami Metal Dead Lone Survivor Odallus - The Dark Call Penumbra - The Black Plague Penumbra - Overture Penumbra - Requiem Rise of the Triad Shadow Man Teleglitch - Die More Edition This War of Mine The Walking Dead The Wolf Among Us X-Com - Enemy Unknown And many others. + Chaosian 617 Posted September 12, 2015 A pretty big number of those I also wouldn't call horror. At lead Dead Space has dead bodies getting up off the ground. But eh- whatever, not a bad list of games at any rate.
gunsage 161 Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) Well, a lot of those aren't horror, but horror-themed. Edit: I threw like an additional 30 games on there. I just want to have a bunch of stuff to choose from because I need at least 30 games, but probably more. Edited September 12, 2015 by gunsage
gunsage 161 Posted September 16, 2015 Okay, so I have a RIDICULOUS amount of horror/horror-themed games installed (150 and maybe only 10 of those do not apply), so I think I'm ready. However, my ISP only allows for 1 mbps upload. As a result, I think it might be better if I try to upload these to youtube after the fact, possibly with additional editing instead of twitch. However, if you want to twitch, I absolutely encourage it. I think this will be a really fun idea.
gunsage 161 Posted September 18, 2015 I've been going through optimizing a bunch of these games as well as seeing if they're going to work properly or if they even really qualify as horror. I might keep a couple behind that are absolutely terrible, but not scary just for comedic value. I could also use some recommendations for scary RPG Maker games. I have a few in mind, but I'd like to have at least one a week that I try for the month.
gunsage 161 Posted September 21, 2015 So I'm actually super stoked to get started on this. So much in fact that I'm thinking of starting early so that I'll have a crapload of content. I'll keep you posted on whether or not I decide to start early.

gunsage 161 Posted September 28, 2015 So I'm super frustrated because my Dead Island upload was going to take TWO DAYS to upload...and my power flickered...meaning I have to start over. However! I did manage to upload these 2...
gunsage 161 Posted September 29, 2015 We got another two-fer, folks!
gunsage 161 Posted October 2, 2015 Haven't really seen anyone else throw stuff on here or garnered any real interest, so I will simply add the playlist I've created. I'm usually cranking out one or more of these a day, though there are instances such as Dead Island where the upload literally took 2 whole days to upload (yeah my ISP isn't the greatest). In any event, if you're interested, definitely check it out. I still hope that other people will add to this as well, especially now that it's October. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYkTBSuzozCRmWovr0gMsVFUKAo1s94JK
_____ 214 Posted October 2, 2015 Sounds cool. I won't be able to participate, as i lack recording software. On another note, If your looking for haloweeny games to play, I made one (it's not really a horror game, but It does have spooky elements.
gunsage 161 Posted October 4, 2015 That's fine. I'm actually using Nvidia Shadowplay to record my stuff, which is actually doing fairly well. Something like Camtasia Studio or whatever might work better, but this gets the job done. Nothing fancy, but yeah. And don't worry about it not being scary; I'm playing virtually anything horror-themed, including the Castlevania games eventually.
gunsage 161 Posted October 7, 2015 As a fun update, my Teleglitch 2 spoopy encouraged a friend of mine to buy it.
gunsage 161 Posted October 17, 2015 I'm happy to report that I have over 30 titles on the playlist now and have performed nearly every Castlevania game that has ever existed.
gunsage 161 Posted October 23, 2015 (edited) I've cleared 40 games on my 2 spoopy list! Now would be a great time to recommend any RPG Maker/Wolf RPG horror games you've made or know of. Here are the ones I have lined up... Alice Mare Bevel's Painting Blank Dream Boogie Man Crooked Man Densha Hello? Hell...O? Ib It Moves Longing Ribbon Mad Father Mermaid Swamp Misao Mogeko Castle Paranoiac Re:Kinder Sand Man Schuld Witch's House Yume Nikki Upon reflection, I think I should probably get Ao Oni as well. Edit: Anything emboldened I've already played and have a video of on the playlist. Edited October 23, 2015 by gunsage
_____ 214 Posted October 27, 2015 Oh, and Gunsage, If you ever get around to playing my game, please notify me, as I'd like to know. That being said, goodluck with your lets play journey.
gunsage 161 Posted October 28, 2015 Oh, that's right! I downloaded your game, but wasn't aware it was a horror game and haven't tried it yet. I'll let you know.
_____ 214 Posted October 28, 2015 Well, not really horror, just Halloweeny, but yeah.
gunsage 161 Posted October 28, 2015 Hey, that's alright. I did nearly all of the Castlevania games I could get my hands on. The only ones I haven't done that I have so far are the ones for the original GB. I don't consider those scary, but halloweeny all the same. I contemplated doing all the Megami Tensei titles I could get too, but then I realized I only have a few days left in October, so I've refocused to games that are either legit scary or just plain awesome and need to be on this list.
