Recommended Posts

"There once was a savage war. A war that mankind, alone, could never win. Join the story, and follow these adventures high and low to discover secrets, treasures, myths, and legends."

Cast of Beginning Characters

Will
An optimistic guy who loves to travel. His main allies, as he has learned,
are the ones inside of him. Sol, a wyrm that was cast out to acquire more souls for Deiroace,
and Novaria, a Novarian phoenix that was killed for sport among his own kind.
Will was chosen by Thyrois, the god of creation, after he had a horrible death on Earth, to help
Scalvose out to keep the unknown man, Xerian, at bay.

Wane Kurriro

Half dragon, half human, this 18 year old is out to set things right against his father. Wane even dropped the "y" out of his name due to the horrible event that caused his exile from his home town. Wane also lives with a parasitic plant, formally known as Death Root. This makes him a prime target for fear and money. As for his Dragon side, Wane can catch a meteor and throw it back a distance, so things head on won't push him around. Wane an retaliate using specials like Talon Shatter, which almost always hits, to destroy airborne foes.

Crystal

A dragon that lives right beside a town, Crystal was born with no family, no friends; nothing but a cold cave and some other ice-loving creatures. She ventured on making peace with humans, but was feared and set for slaughter from King Victor around the time that Will and Wane first started Crystal has full control of water and can go to the extant to freezing the water in a body;s cells to prevent movement for severe amounts of time.

Lek Nisshoku

A king who gives money away to his people, Lek is the richest alive. Due to his death in an unfair setting, Lyria, a dragon and Goddess of Wisdom, granted him the ability to use magical cards. A four year span of studying gave way to his knowledge in runs and sword fighting. He's created the most potions to save lives compared to doctors and has killed only in forced matters.

Xerian

A man with a steel temper, he is determined to kill every god and goddess to become the most powerful being. On the contrary, Xerian hasn't defeated Derioace, thus making it hard to really say he's all bad and big... Well, if it wasn't for the fact he can solely control the World's Edge, a creature that can engulf entire universes and devours all that touch it.

(I'll list more as time goes on. I'm not ruining everything for ya yet.)

Alright, that's the starting party. Now, let's take a look into the story, shall we?

(Prologue) "You find yourself as Will, who's with Wane in Roa, a town off by a desert. Wane and Will talk about some simple matters, like how King Victor's army throws shampoo at flying targets, eventually getting interrupted by Darkness, a perverted joker with a poor memory and word choice at times. He exclaims that you need to help Crystal fight off against Magic Crosses that are trying to steal the food she has gathered."

Battle 1: 2 Magic Crosses (I'll give the first battle, mainly for anyone who may want the demo once it's done to help with setting the whole game up.)

Both Magic Crosses have 15 HP, low stats, and simple evasion, but know one of the hardest to beat skills, Magic Barrier. These Crosses will spam the move as the battle explains the TP and MP rules, as well as some stat buffs and new statuses. Once the tutorial is over, the Magic Crosses flee in fear and leave the two alone.

The insignia marks that of deities. Will, after being forced to become a god, joins the ranks with Thyrois, Deiroace, and others. You can gain some runes that were gifted by the gods, allowing you to summon them into battle. Be warned, however, that danger is no easy game. Be prepared for a possibly hard beginning, ranging from Leaf Vixens using Giant Bloom, causing sleep, poison, and agony, to Chaingras binding you. Easy enemies, but one does not fight without reason in Wane's eyes.

The battle system is by Lite, since I want a basic feel to the game. Sure, that limits a lot, but I can live and fit the story in Chapters of the thing. Average game play without edits is projected to be 5-6 hours. Characters include, but are not limited to:

Kirue, Wane, Will, Crystal, Lek, Darkness, Xerian, Sol, Novaria, Ragnarok, and many more.

What are your thoughts?

Sounds like your skipping over what this insignia is. You just talk about a battle and then, "the insignia" out of nowhere?

I didn't think I was clear on the insignia, and I see what you mean by skipping them. An insignia marks a god for what/who he/she is, or some great hero or villain. You can forge on later in the game, but I haven't decided if it's really needed or not. Most of them provide simple stat upgrades, some also granting attack bonuses or immunity to statuses. Sorry about that. In my defense I was tired... Didn't drink enough root beer while I was setting this up.

Personally, I like my battle system to be a bit more complex. I like challenging battles, and the more options the player and the enemies have, the more potential there is to throw different challenges at the player. More options also helps keep battling from become stagnant.

As for the story, I don't generally don't provide feedback until the stories are more developed. It's very hard to come up with a bad story idea. It's all matter of execution. I like seeing how the execution is going before I critique.
