Pokémon XD: Darkness Beyond Time

Introduction:
Created with RPG Maker VX Ace, this game is meant as a sequel to Colosseum and XD: Gale of Darkness for the Nintendo GameCube, as well as a continuation of the story from the 5th generation games. The premise is that you embark on a new journey through time and space, snagging corrupted Shadow Pokémon from other trainers to purify, against a newly reformed organization named Cipher and their Shadow Dialga.

Hilbert/Hilda - The Player

The hero of this adventure Hilbert/Hilda is the hero of the original Pokémon Black and White. Having had defeated the organization Team Plasma three years earlier, Nilbert/Hilda is out looking for the former Team Plasma leader N. His/Her adventures end up bringing him/her to the Kronos region with his/her trusty companion Reshiram/Zekrom. Upon first arriving to the Kronos region, he/she discovers two Cipher Peons attempting to kidnap two very unwilling wild Pokémon. After defeating them, he/she reverts Reshiram/Zekrom back to its stone and take the two wild Pokémon as his compation.

Eldes - the Ex-Cipher Member

Eldes is an ex-Admin of Cipher from the last time the organization tried to take over the world. Having never been content with the actions of Cipher, Eldes was the one to convince the previous Cipher leader (and his own father) Greevil to give up on his plans for world domination and disband Cipher. Now Eldes is searching actively to get to the bottom of the newest iteration Cipher.

Colress - the Scientist

A scientist researching the potential of Pokémon, Colress is first seen requesting the player to help him investigate a disturbance near Aegis cave where Hilber/Hilda first found the Cipher Peons terrorizing the two wild Pokémon. Upon reaching Aegis cave and attempting to pry the door blocking the way the two hear the cry of a Pokémon in pain. Unfortunately, the two fail to open the door in time as they are thrown 1 500 years into the past to the Middle Ages only to discover that Cipher has managed to infiltrate the timeline to meet their mysterious ends.

N - Old Enemy/New Friend

Natural Harmonia Gropius (Yeah, that's his real name. I know right?), otherwise known as N, is the former leader of Team Plasma. Three years ago he was the enemy to Hilber/Hilda believing that all Pokémon should be liberated from their trainers. That ultimately culminated in a battle between Hilbert/Hilda and his/her Reshiram/Zekrom and N and his Zekrom/Reshiram. After realizing the error of his ways (as well as it being revealed that he was been manipulated by his adoptive father Ghetsis for his own goals of world domination), N departed from the land of Unova, the home to both himself and Hilbert/Hilda. Now, three years later, N is trying to create a new Team Plasma dead set on the freeing of Shadow Pokémon from the grasp of Cipher and the ultimate defeat of the organization.

Cynthia - the Legends Expert

Cynthia is an expert on Pokémon myths and legends. Hailing from Celestic town in Sinnoh, she is studying the rich history of the Kronos region. Cynthia will be around to help Hilbert/Hilda in his/her fight against Cipher, claiming she's helped in taking down a similar organization.

Features:

 

Combat

Battles are fought in the traditional Pokémon format. Both sides send out Pokémon against each other and switch out as needed. Battle ends when all the Pokémon on one side are knocked out. Battles are done in the doubles format, meaning that both sides send out two Pokémon at any given time.
 

Time Travel

As you traverse the region, you can visit various cities at different eras. As soon as you've been to a city, you can go their in any time period. Each era has a completely different set of catchable Pokémon to use to make your team.
 

Shadow Pokémon

As you fight Cipher, you will encounter Shadow Pokémon, Pokémon that have had the door to their hearts artificially shut. In battle you can use Poké Balls to catch them from their trainers to purify. Shadow Pokémon do not gain experience. As you have them in your party, the Pokémon's Heart Gauge lowers. Once it's empty the Pokémon can be purified, and it will gain the EXP that it built up until that point all at once. 

Recruitment:

To be completed this project will need resources. For all major characters, two things are needed:

• Overworld Sprites
• Official Artwork

All the characters should start as concept art, and then be made into sprites. The art should display the characters entire body and how they are going to appear in the game (this will be used for the characters’ VS sprites for battler). The overworld sprites are the sprites used for characters when they are interacted with in the overworld. Every single main character will have a unique overworld sprite. The ones that need this are the Gym Leaders, Elite Four, friends to the player and the members of Cipher. These sprites are to be done in Black and White style in the original size (I will up-size them afterwards) and should reflect what’s seen in their artwork.
The following characters from the Orre games are going to need artwork sprites:

• Eldes
• Miror B.
• Ein
• Nascour
• Evice
• Ardos
• Cipher Peons

Ein, Nascour and Evice’s sprites should match how they appeared in Colosseum. Mior B’s should match his appearance from XD: Gale of Darkness. As for Eldes and Ardos, that is up to you guys. I honestly don’t care how they look as long as I can tell it is them. They can either match their appearance from XD: Gale of Darkness or have new outfits for this game. I would like completely new original designs for the Cipher Peons.
In additions these new characters will need sprites. I will not give any details on them besides their gender, position and type specialty. I’d like to see what you guys create with the little information I give you.

I also need submission for the Cipher Admins. That I am leaving completely up to you guys to create. When you send those one to me, tell me what you think their team structure/battle strategy they would use.

I've added two new weather conditions on top the the pre existing ones from the core series. Mist and Nuclear Radiation. Mist makes it so Pokémon regain 1/16th of their total Mist Points (MP) used to use special magick attacks each turn. Radiation raises susceptibility to status conditions by 50% and decreases both defenses by 10%.
