Game Idea-Undoing (Open world RPG)

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I have an idea for an open world game. Of course I have begun development but want to get some response before going any deeper. Essentially a raid of evil demon like things (I haven't thought of a name) Attack 4 provinces (The main one being Cenna). Of course you born with special powers from the gods must get these four provinces together to fight these abominations. I hope to have 4 back stories (Paladin, Priest, Warrior and Alchemist). Please comment your thought's below =).

Terrell.

It's a bit hard to give advice with so little info. So far, I like the idea but I advise you to do a bit more and then come back to ask for avice.

If that's what you're going for, it's kinda reminiscent of Final Fantasy - The Four Heroes of Light, where you play different part of the game as a hero in different parts of the world until finally they all meet up to kick the main baddy's ass. I guess it could work if you've got a solid story going.

I think it sounds a little bit cliche, but let's be real: everything's cliche nowadays :) Pretty much any story will work if you know how to execute it.

I like the four-part story though. I think it would also lend itself really well to an episodic format, if your game is too huge to have to wait and release the whole shazam all at once. ^^
