Zortik 15 Posted November 10, 2015 So, google has a billion answers... but many of them are on free to use website with tricky catches / gimmicks. What I'm trying to learn from the community is this: I want to convert an .mp3 song into .ogg so I can use it in RPGMaker MV. I don't know what tool/application/site to use. I don't know if I need to select additional options/tuning/settings/etc to maintain or improve quality I have windows media player, and that's pretty much it. Rikifive 3,411 Posted November 10, 2015 Audacity is the best (and popular) free audio-editing program, that I got to work with. It has many features and it easily can export .mp3 file to .ogg. It's a 'must have' for me. (=

+ TBWCS 953 Posted November 10, 2015 I use Audacity, but for better conversion and better audio compression I use Adobe Audition CS6.
Kayzee 4,033 Posted November 10, 2015 Yeah but Adobe products cost teh monies. Anyway my recommendation is to not convert from MP3 when possible, instead see if you can find a copy of the song in a lossless format like .WAV or .FLAC and convert that to .OGG instead. But, I admit, I don't know if it makes that much of a difference.
geluf 38 Posted November 25, 2015 Reaper. I cannot recommend Reaper enough. Before I bought Cubase it was my 100 percent go-to DAW program. It does most of the stuff the big boys do for hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, at zero cost to you (they ask that you buy a license after a few months...but you don't actually have to do it, the program doesn't stop working). Reaper can convert to every audio type imaginable. Including ogg
Tsarmina 2,612 Posted December 1, 2015 I use a lot of websites because I'm not fancy (or maybe just too cheap? ) for nice programs. XD http://media.io/ http://www.zamzar.com/convert/mp3-to-ogg/ I know I use these pretty often; they come in handy when I just need to swap out some file extensions haha. c;
