With RMMV released for more than 2 months, most of the RMVXA script release, request and support activities for all the RM communities I know are all much more silent than before, so it seems to me that they've completely entered the long tail part.

Given that the RMVXA scripting community will be unlikely to have any significant change, I'd like to know who are your favorite RMVXA scripters.

I wanted to include all, but as I can only include 3 questions, each with 20 choices, I can only include 60 RMVXA scripters here. I formed the list using this forum, VXAN, RMRK and the master script list.

If some of your favorite RMVXA scripters aren't included in any of the choice list, you can still drop those names in your replies.

To reduce the chance for this topic to be closed, please try your best to avoid touching on anything you dislike for any RMVXA scripter. This topic will remain focused if we keep concentrating on our favorite RMVXA scripters instead :)

P.S.: While many RMVXA scripters are also RMMV plugin developers and it's natural for us to take their RMMV plugin development/support activities into account when asking ourselves who're our favorite RMVXA scripters, I think it's better for us to only consider their RMVXA scripting/script support activities to increase the objectivity of our choices :D

P.S.S: It seems to me that I've no way to set the poll in a way that we don't have to vote for all 3 questions. It either means a quite restricted choice making here, or I'll have to reduce the list to only include 20 RMVXA scripters lol

Yanfly, Hime, Nicke, Galv and Vlue. :)

Like Jackus, it's a tie...

It's too hard to choose because there's so many and each are equally important to my game. ^_^

I voted DP3, Tsukihime, Raizen, Victor, Yami and Yanfly. My reasons:

I used 1 week to learn RMVXA scripting via DP3 RGSS3 scripting tutorial videos. I managed to leap from knowing nothing to be able to write several easy, simple and small RMVXA scripts.

I also learned quite a lot from Tsukihime's Dev Log, and some new ways to write ATB systems from Raizen's ATB system script and Victor's one(although I still have no idea why Victor's cooperation skill can work on enemies in the atb system so well).

But I like Yami the most, as his/her ATB system is the biggest reason caused me to be a scripter(It was quite buggy at that time, I don't want how to fix it, and Yami has stopped supporting that script, causing me to learn scripting to fix it myself lol). He/she also let me edit and rewrite his/her ATB system, leading to the existence of the CATB bugfix/compatibility fix/addons and ECATB. I become specialized in ATB systems(and hopefully a skilled practitioner even though I'm still incredibly nub at everything) due to my concentration on such scripts, and I become a much, much better scripter due to having written an advanced complex script(and lots of insanely complicated and convoluted compatibility issues) too.

For this reason, I also like Yanfly very much, as Yami's CATB's based on Yanfly's Ace Battle Engine. Besides, my unison addon to his/her Battle Engine imposed me a really, really tough challenge(it's the 1st time I faced an algorithmic problem so hard to the point of needing advanced scripting proficiency to solve), and I learned something useful after I've solved it.

I voted for;

  • Yanfly, because he is a scripting god. I don't know a lick about coding, and even I can tell his scripts are well structured, organized and optimized. He's made so many foundational scripts--tools that virtually every project will need--that it's mind-boggling.

  • Tsukihime for the same reasons above, and also for their ever-constant presence in the community. The support offered for their huge library of scripts is pretty amazing as well!

  • Vlue, because he is just hilarious and his scripts run like clockwork. I wish he was around more often, but regardless, his work is done incredibly well.

  • DP3 is just so full of win. His tutorials are a goldmine, and he's one of the only people I've seen try to teach RGSS3 that in-depth. I definitely feel he deserves a vote~

  • Galv because of his vast library and the cool ideas behind it. Lots of content to choose from, and some of the most dynamic stuff out there! (I mean, he made a 2D fighting system! Tell me that isn't awesome~)

I love the work of everyone listed, (some I didn't even know about though! I'm curious to look them up now, lol) but I wanted to highlight those who really stood out to me. :)

Voted for:

MOG - I'm using tons of his scripts as they're widely configurable. I just love his works.

Galv - For interesting and original script minigames and such - that's a nice touch to RMing.

Hime - Tons of useful scripts. My favorite? "Data Backup". ( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )

Yanfly - For many useful menu-scripts, that I'm using.

There are many other scripters that I like (FenixFyreX for the input system, KilloZapit for wrapping message boxes, DoubleX for solving my long-lasting issue, Yami for some scripts I'm using), but these 4 are the main sources of scripts I'm using and love. =3

Also why you didn't put yourself on that list? You did tons of scripting. ^^

I voted estriole, Galv, Hime, KZ, MA, Moghunter, NeonBlack, Nicke, Soulpour, TheoAllen, and Yanfly. XD

It's kind of a lot, but I felt like all of them deserve gratitude and more just for putting these scripts out there. I'm afraid I've never used the others' scripts, so this isn't so much saying they aren't my favorite as it is saying it would be unfair to pass my own opinion.

estriole: Great scripts that I've checked out in the past, even if I don't tend to settle on using them finally in my games--and they're really clever!

Galv: SO many amazing scripts, and very willing to cooperate and help if things get a little confused.

Hime: Do I even need to say? ;) Chock-full of helpful scripts and still working like a machine! Bless you <3

KilloZapit: Word Wrapping Script from the fairy god? o.o

modern algebra: Amazing behind the scenes scripts that do wonders for functionality. Also, parallaxes are a must-use.

NeonBlack: One of the first scripters I checked out. Still love terrain tags like nothing I've ever seen before.

Nicke: Really cool scripts, including the journal ones. I haven't ended up using his, but I've tested them out. Extremely well-laid out and aesthetic.

Soulpour: Because, Soulpour.  :D Always churning out new stuff, and ready with a script--or a pun.

TheoAllen: Thank this soul for his amazing scripts, not the least of which include his own battle system! Now that is a work of art.

Yanfly: Scripts would not be the same if it weren't for Yanfly. You. Are. AMAZING.

Hime no doubt, the scripts she makes does rarely add directly to game play, however they streamline the development process massively. For cutting countless hours of work from a project, I consider them to be my most valued tool!

Yanfly, Yami, Galv and Mr. Trivel come in as a close second tie. I simply love their creative, well made and enriching scripts! They add some tremendous value to games all over the world.
