Nekotori 739 Posted March 8, 2016 So far Neko Rush has successfully been thrown to Jackus' front yard, there is only a matter of time before the dog picks it up and runs away with it. on a serious note, I have successfully completed my first game. It is a short light puzzley game (since the puzzles aren't that hard core) featuring a cat :3 I have plans to add future cat updates such as additional levels and other stuff :3
KaisoAri 78 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) My project is still somewhat at a stand still... Ever since moving to MV in favor for flexibility I find myself spending more time fixing things that broke during the conversion. Not to mention trying to find the motivation to make personal assets. I often find myself opening my project and just listen the music the maker comes with. It somewhat helps, but when I try to get into actually working on it to fix things I lose all interest and I end up doing something else. It's rather annoying. >.< Edited March 8, 2016 by KaisoAri
ShadowfrostZen 38 Posted March 8, 2016 Hey guys, Simple public interest question: how are your games going? I wanna get a sense and feel for how productive the people on the forum actually are. Are you in production or pre-production? Nearing a demo? Alpha? Beta? Or are you winding down for post? Been working on it for two months, and at least 30% or so through the game. Currently working on the rest of the series, as i've already pre planned it.
LucidK 39 Posted March 8, 2016 Well, I've been working on a commercial game for a few years. I've basically restarted it a few times, but it was still fundamentally the same.Until my laptop's hard drive fried, and, because I'm super intelligent, I didn't have a backup. So, I finally had about 7 hours of quality gameplay done and POOF. Gone.So now, I'm working on a whole new one. Different concept, different story, etc. I work on it as much as possible, but, as with any person, work puts a damper on actual production. Especially since I often work 14-16 hour days, 6 days a week.BUT I'm getting there and, who knows, maybe I will finish a game and it'll be super awesome and somebody like Blizzard will buy the rights to it and the sequel for 10 million and I'll be set for life.Yeah..... Right.... lol
HeckHound 61 Posted March 11, 2016 It's...not. Game development has taken a back shelf in favour of juggling full-time work, part-time uni and raising my sister.
lonequeso 1,921 Posted March 11, 2016 BUT I'm getting there and, who knows, maybe I will finish a game and it'll be super awesome and somebody like Blizzard will buy the rights to it and the sequel for 10 million and I'll be set for life. Unlikely, but not impossible. I'd be satisfied with one million. I've been doing lots of play testing, I just finished up another town and level. I have a list of little things to fix/improve, but it's not much. Mostly text wrapping and typos. I'm at a point where a new character joins the party. I'm testing out his classes and skills. KainLightsworn 63 Posted March 18, 2016 Got a functioning, fairly polished demo of the tutorial segment of my game already posted many, many months back. As for right this moment, I'm slowly composing my way through the next few things I need for the first official story arc of the game and adding a little more polish to the old demo, courtesy of some new scripts and the like. I'm also expanding the battle lines I'd written for my voice actors initially to work with a new battle voices script I've found and am preparing to send them the new lines for recording. Oh. And I'm also trying to get my damned tablet to cooperate with SAI so I can draw some artwork for the next cutscene of the game.
_____ 214 Posted March 20, 2016 Project is going good, finally starting to get to mapping! And the first tileset I needed done has been completed. Glad to see that everyone else's projects are going good as well.
lonequeso 1,921 Posted March 22, 2016 I finally reached the point I was at in playtesting that I got to before I redid the stat system and made the enemies smarter. I still have a good sized list of notes of little things i need to fix. I'm creating enemies and troops for one of my favorite maps. The only level with snoooowww!
Yuugami 252 Posted March 22, 2016 Well, to update, since I can now work on the game idea using RPG Maker... the project is officially under way! Huzzah! /confetti /leaves after a pointless post
Aria1573 21 Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) I've had some major issues with mine, it was going fine but then Life hit so it had to be put on the back burner for a while. My major problems however are I lack the proper skills to make the Music I want for it. I also lack the time to really get work done on it as my time is taken up between work, sleep, Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Supernatural, Time with Boyfriend, and gaming (Mainly Salt & Sanctuary/The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD) On top of that Next Month on the 12th Dark Souls 3 is gonna drop and then in May Doom 4. I'm lucky if I get an hour or two just to work. Isn't life great? Just wait till I try raising a family lol Edited March 27, 2016 by AdventNoOmega
lonequeso 1,921 Posted April 5, 2016 I added the next set of skills for each of my classes I decided the Tier 1 classes last skill will be learned at Lv. 26. Not sure where the last Tier 2 skills will end up. I got kinda tired of playtesting so I created something new. Another archery minigame. Simple game. Shoot the moving targets. I have two of them now. There will be one more later in the game. It will be the hardest, but have the best prize. A magic tone that unlocks a special skill. I'm debating whether or not to make a tutorial on it. Ooo! Speaking of tutorials, I discovered a great way to "stitch" maps together without making a ton of events on the borders. Definitely going to make a tutorial for that. It's so much faster, and takes far less processing power.
_____ 214 Posted April 5, 2016 I had a small vacation, haven't made any progress since my last post here. I'll try to get back at it soon, but it's becoming hard to balance game work with all the other stuff I have going on in my life, especially considering how lazy I am. Kmany 5 Posted April 5, 2016 Over the past years I have worked on 2 boardgames that I put aside for the moment. 3 computer games, one in a Viking setting, one in a Postapocalyptic kind of Wild West setting, and the final one in a Scifi setting. And finally my software that I am actually very close to finishing. I took a break from working on these things and just honed up my drawing skills for 3 months at the beginning of the year, and I feel it paid off, just making requests and commissions on Deviantart.. But now for the past two months I am back full force again.. Once the software is done I am going to put more time on one of the games, and try to push it to finish as well, but with these boardgame simulators popping up, It is tempting to make digital versions of the boardgames at some point. So much to do, so little time lol.
Purple Phantom 453 Posted April 5, 2016 Well, I officially am one event away from releasing a demo for the first Nightwatch Nightmares game.
Guyver 65 Posted April 6, 2016 I've been trying to find a new ATB script that works with YEA that I don't have to jerry rig until the cows come home. It's really annoying.
Nirwanda 323 Posted April 7, 2016 Developing a big city that kicks off the game's second chapter. The hardest part is thinking up all the npc dialogue! I stalled all day with it, I hope I can overcome this lazyness tomorrow. I'm finally at the last district and it'll be silly to stop here.
lonequeso 1,921 Posted April 7, 2016 Yeah it can be hard coming up with NPC dialogue when there's a lot of 'em in an area. History about the city or world and comments about current events are two good ways to go. It's early enough in the game to where some of them can give the player little tips and tricks. Fill the rest ith random stuff. Maybe a little comedy somewhere.
Disponi 18 Posted April 7, 2016 Kind of stalled with my current project for a couple of reasons: new job, and I've been spending time working on the actual story, world and lore.
NazoFox2501 7 Posted April 13, 2016 Well, I found someone willing to take me in as a writer. He's got a world, a concept, and a few characters, but no story. It's still in the development phase, talking back and forth about what will work and all that. I say we're about...1%? *laughs, then lets out a tired sigh* I've got my work cut out for me, but I'm glad I'm writing for someone here. Starting small, but I hope to make it big one day, even if it's just among you guys.
Ragnos 122 Posted April 13, 2016 After the artist for Terra Evil dropped out of contact we abandoned the project. Afterwards we went on the run from the committee of 300 due to my gaining of knowledge that would cause WW3! XD Now we are back in production of a new game (Name is currently Classified) so far this has been our best game yet. The game is going to be heavily based on the player's decisions, and actions which effect the game. Their will be multiple endings, and we are going to try to make the combat fun and challenging besides just spamming the space key. We are going to release it one chapter at a time so it's going to be episodic. Currently been working on the prologue chapter for almost a month now. We would have finished a while back if there weren't so many different actions and effects. Also Voice Acting!
