Purple Phantom 453 Posted March 20, 2016 Yeeeeeeep, you read that 1000% right. Monster Girls in a boarding school for Monster Girls. 100% female cast of characters, 100% no humans allowed. Skeleton girls, ghost girls, Frankengirls, slimegirls, witches, wraiths, boogie girls, reaper girls, amalgamations of those... Anyway, I was wondering what... 1 - You guys thought of the idea 2 - Features you think would be good in the game 3 - Other types of monster girls you think would be fun to have in the game
Kayzee 4,033 Posted March 20, 2016 Yay for monster girls! How about some mischievous Fairies (like me)? Oh and you probably need a Lamia/Naga or two, because what collection of monsters would be complete without some half-girl half-snakes? Maybe an Arachne? An Alraune? A Centaur? Don't forget the classic werewolf girl.. Demons (succubus maybe), Angels... My my so many monster girls so little time!
Purple Phantom 453 Posted March 20, 2016 Oh, certainly! I love all of those ideas! Thank you so much!
TheManlyFairy 51 Posted March 20, 2016 You may want to consult with Monster Musume No Iru Nichijou, or simply MonMusu for short for inspiration on how monster girls would function in the modern world, that's literally what the manga is about. What I think about this idea is... well, I'm not sure really. For starters, monster girls are vast in diversity and vary greatly from the deceptively human dullahan to the unmistakeable monstrous arachnids. You're probably gonna need to do some serious lore research about whatever monsters you choose as your cast. I can't say much for features since I don't know the focal point of the game. Is this a story about growing up in an alien world? Is it about friendship despite racial differences? Is it a murder mystery (wow that was a sharp turn from the other two choices). First comes the idea, then come the mechanics. The more classic types of girls are lamia, centaur, cat, harpy, and basically other animal archetypes. The lesser known monster girls are surprisingly the ones actually based on monsters like dullahan, oni, kappa, succubi, fairies and so on. If you feel like tackling the players, you could try the lesser known ones or make up your own like say a djinn girl or a sphinx girl.
Rezanta 373 Posted March 20, 2016 Alright, as a cameo, add a Leaf Dragon XD *ahem* Yeah... um... Anyway! There's a great wheel of possibility to come from this, but maybe allude to the opposing gender? 2) Being a school, discipline and will power systems would be interesting to see, in my opinion. 3) Basalisk, dragon, wyrm, phoenix, kyuubi, kitsune, sphinx, and I could go on... >.> And leaf dragons!!
Whiona 310 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) I would totally be interested in a monster girl boarding school game if I liked the mechanics and character designs. I think it would be cute to see a cyclops girl! Features I think would be good in the game would really depend, though. What kind of game is this? Is it an RPG? A life sim? A dating sim? Something else entirely? Edited March 22, 2016 by Whiona
ashm 12 Posted March 22, 2016 Feature I would love to : Day/night and time (must be well configurated) Action point (so there's limit action per day) Mini game Monster girl I prefer : 1. Tomboy werewolf 2. Noble vampire loli 3. Prankster gumiho (fox girl)
nellbellz 33 Posted March 25, 2016 This is a really cool idea! I think it would be good as a dating sim that could implement a battle system, or something. I also agree with ashm that it would be great to have some minigames. If you need an artist, I would be happy to draw some character art for you! Your idea has a lot of potential and I hope you consider developing it further. :')
Purple Phantom 453 Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) Is this a story about growing up in an alien world? Is it about friendship despite racial differences? Is it a murder mystery (wow that was a sharp turn from the other two choices). First comes the idea, then come the mechanics. From what I have planned out, it's kind of a combination of all of those... Minus the murder bit. Friendship, growing up in an alien world, mystery, mayhem, hiding out, save for one day of the year, the typical "all is not as it seems" with a dash of plot twist. (See the rest of this post for more details. Questions and comments will be answered, first, then I'll reveal the plot.) Being a school, discipline and will power systems would be interesting to see, in my opinion. Oh, yes... This is a very good idea. Like, if you get caught misbehaving or trying to sneak off of school grounds, you lose privileges? And if too many students loose too many privileges, they loose some of their will to do whatever it was they were doing to break the rules? Features I think would be good in the game would really depend, though. What kind of game is this? Is it an RPG? A life sim? A dating sim? Something else entirely? It's action/adventure with some fantasy, horror (more along the lines of those creature feature films, such as Frankenstein and The Blob) and comedy. There will be school sim and life sim aspects to it, though. Feature I would love to : Day/night and time (must be well configurated) Action point (so there's limit action per day) Mini game Day/night time is a huge part of the game, actually. Dependant upon the time of day, the game will change and the monsters who are out and about will change, such as the vampires being out at night, the sirens being more active during the day, etc. I'm also planning on implementing a weather system, because some monsters will act differently during certain weather types, such as the Blob girl being more active when it's hot out, the Frankengirls being very active during lightning storms, etc. Two other systems I'm going to implement (if I can) is a day counter system and a moon cycle system, mainly for events and were-creatures. As for action points, could you please elaborate further? How would this work? And HECK YES MINI GAMES! Those are always so much fun. This is a really cool idea! I think it would be good as a dating sim that could implement a battle system, or something. I also agree with ashm that it would be great to have some minigames. If you need an artist, I would be happy to draw some character art for you! Your idea has a lot of potential and I hope you consider developing it further. :') I'm sorry, but this isn't going to be a dating sim, however, I do plan on implementing dating sim-like features and a sort of dating "combat"! Again, HECK YES(!!!!!) to the mini games. I love those things! As for the art, I don't need any character art done, as I'm doing that part, myself, but if you want to do art for the game, I know for a fact that many of the characters adore drawing, painting and other arts. If you'd like, you could do some art for their drawings and whatnot? I'm implementing most of these monster suggestions and I'm still taking requests! The more, the merrier. (Unfortunately, angels aren't going to fit in, but everything else is gonna be in there! ) Now, for the plot and backstory... Basically, the original monsters were created accidentally when humans went to witches, wizards, faeries and mages for strength, protection and power against the dragons in the Draconic War. Humans got more interested in the monsters and kept creating more, until such practices and monsters, themselves, were outlawed. Naturally, people kept making them (often by accident) until the ways were forgotten. They were erased from history and thought of as nothing more than fiction. In reality, they'd gone into hiding. After several attacks on the humans, the monsters decided to stay completely hidden and only come out of hiding one night every year - Halloween. Until they reach their adult ages, monsters are separated by gender (or put into a random gender group, if the monster is genderless) and put into boarding schools. Since all monster types have different adult ages, some monsters may be in these schools for short, medium or long periods of times, dependent upon species, gender, etc. The story of this game takes place in one of the female boarding schools, during the months leading up to Halloween. However, all is not well. There are rumours that one or more of the monsters may be plotting an attack on the humans. It's up to you and a group of your friends to get to the bottom of the mystery, discover if it's true and, if it is, who's behind it. Naturally, you still have your schoolwork and activities, but you could easily use these things to your advantage... Planned features: Day/night cycle Moon cycle Day counter Monster-specific behaviours Classes Clubs After-school activities Quests Spying A fully interactive dance scene Pets Shops Pick-up items Friendship Avoidable combat Somewhere around 100 monster girls and gender-neutral monsters (maybe... that number may change) Mini games Puzzles Privileges gained and lost dependent upon your actions A leaf dragon school mascot A unique windowskin Dating and unique dating "combat" A gender-neutral protagonist that YOU pick the name of Several couples Edited March 26, 2016 by PurplePhantom
Nirwanda 323 Posted March 26, 2016 Wow, it sounds like you've got a lot planned for it, I've got little to add as most everything i've thought up has been covered, but i wanted to note my (oh so important) support for this.Great luck with such an ambitious project.

Rezanta 373 Posted March 27, 2016 I was chatting with you on the additional monsters/creatures, would you be willing to share all that you'll be using? Otherwise, nice setup
nellbellz 33 Posted March 27, 2016 I could definitely do some art like that for your game . The backstory that you created is very interesting, particularly how monsters were created and the consequences that came from it. Looking forward to how you will integrate your planned features into the game! (•̀ᴗ•Ì)Ùˆ ̑̑
Purple Phantom 453 Posted March 27, 2016 I was chatting with you on the additional monsters/creatures, would you be willing to share all that you'll be using? Otherwise, nice setup Thank you! And here's the current list. Djinn, blob, vampire, witch, Frankenstein monster, dragon/human, naga, cyclops, Invisible Man-style monster, reaper, werewolf, werecat, werefox, werebear, mermaid, Boogieman-style monster, ghost, phantom, wraith, windego, arachne, pumpkin, demon, skeleton, alrune, living flower, centaur, faerie, dullahan, oni, kappa, harpy, sphinx, phoenix, gumiho, zombie, bigfoot, siren and mummy. And those are just the TYPES of monster. I'm expecting several variations of each type and am accepting more ideas for more types! Gender-neutral types: Blob, reaper, windego and some demons... So far... I could definitely do some art like that for your game . The backstory that you created is very interesting, particularly how monsters were created and the consequences that came from it. Looking forward to how you will integrate your planned features into the game! (•̀ᴗ•Ì)Ùˆ ̑̑ Sweet! Thank you! And thank you. I spent a while coming up with that while drawing the character busts, attempting to sleep and being out and about in town.
TheManlyFairy 51 Posted March 27, 2016 I just realized, you could make the game start off more alienated if the protagonist was part human anf lacking in monster features.
Purple Phantom 453 Posted March 27, 2016 That's a pretty awesome idea, there! Like, you'd have to work harder to do stuff, people wouldn't trust you... And it could bring in the issue of monster/human relationships... O.o Me likey.
Rezanta 373 Posted March 27, 2016 And it could bring in the issue of monster/human relationships... O.o Me likey. And that's where anthros came in XD Or, well, I- crap! I can't make another joke XP Have you chose how the player shall directly progress in the story, whether it be by minigames, battles, etc?
Purple Phantom 453 Posted March 27, 2016 Have you chose how the player shall directly progress in the story, whether it be by minigames, battles, etc? So far, I have it planned to be along the lines of doing a lot of questing for people, which can involve mini games, battles, delivering items, buying something or just talking to the person. However, towards the end, the combat will be harder to avoid, then become downright impossible to avoid, thus making you need to engage in combat to progress through the story.
Kmany 5 Posted April 2, 2016 Sounds like a fun idea That is all I have to say atm.. too tired to try to think up something creative that has not been mentioned.. or a Nymph if somebody did not mention it.. maybe a bipolar Nymph.. in the sense that she wears a long Trenchcoat and hat with sunglasses and then strips off everything when she gets her elevated mood. Okay that sound more like a pervert lol. Need to go rest for a while..
Cookie Ninja 374 Posted April 2, 2016 Hey, wouldn't it be fun if that human girl were there by mistake!? A mixup in administration saw her submitted to the wrong school, that 's' should have been a 'c' kinda situation. Dubble the fun if she discovers the truth first week in school. Everything seems normal until a Naga come dashing through the hallway and nobody but her reacts, that is when her classmates finds out aswell! xD

Rezanta 373 Posted April 2, 2016 Hmm. What would you say as having the opening be a "short story" or prelude to the game, showing pictures of the creatures parents/creators?
Purple Phantom 453 Posted April 2, 2016 Oooooh! I like that idea quite a bit! Maybe you could help me out with that one?
Rezanta 373 Posted April 2, 2016 Eh, my hands needed stretched anyway, as I'm working on an avian romance story. (Birds of a feather stick together ) Don't forget, all of us here like to help. :3
Kayzee 4,033 Posted April 2, 2016 Hmmm... mention of a nymph reminds me of dryads... that might be a coon monster girl, but that could be too close to an alraune. Then again, isn't a dryad just a type of nymph anyway?
