Modern tiles wip

Recommended Posts

Well, a long while ago I tried to make game boy styled graphics, but that quickly led nowhere due to the usual procrastination. From the ashes of those graphics I'm trying my hand a new tileset this time in a modern day setting. I've only been working on it for a couple of days, but nonetheless I'd like some opinions, feedback suggestions of what I could add or anything of the sort.

The tiles are mostly composed for now of random things you could find in a house, though I intend to expand them as needed. BTW, the game supposed to happen in not-Buenos Aires that explains street signs being blue instead of green and that this little guy snuck in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mate_%28beverage%29

The graphics would actually be doubled in size when used in game, like this:

I've also tried to restrict myself to a 16 color pallete both for a retro feel and less headaches. Any thoughts on it?

Edit 1:

Made some new ones:

They're actually nice ~ out of curiosity - any chances of seeing them in action? =3

Well, like I said, they're meant to be used in a game happening in not-buenos aires, so they would be in action....in time....if I finish them (God of procrastination spare me just this once)

Or are you asking about doing a scene with themas they are now? Well, I'm still missing floor tiles, but once I make them, I might try.

Thanks for the reply/like!

I was asking for a quick preview, but yeah ~ I hope God of Procrastination will spare you. ^^

They're well done considering the color limit and style. ^^

Well, the modern game is something I've always wanted to make, so I hope that kind of pushes me forward. I'll try to whip up a preview of it.

Good stuff!  Working at such a low resolution is tricky, but you've gotten it down.  Dig the vibrant colours!

Thanks a lot, 6down! I just find it easier to not to have to include too much detail :P
